Ive seen beautiful cakes, but I honestly think this might be the best one I’ve ever seen. I would never eat this. The elephant is perfect and the shades is the sunset behind it are the perfect backdrop. Amazing job.

I am quite a bit older than you and I'd love to be able to recreate this cake but I'm so afraid that I don't have the abilities that you have. This is such a great idea. Can we do this on a buttercream cake? Would it be able to hold the weight of the fondant
Hi there! Though you could give it a go and stick it to the front of a buttercream cake, I would be very mindful to make sure I rolled my pieces of fondant fairly thin to lessen the weight. I made my pieces a little more on the thick side, especially the head, and would not trust that the weight similar to the one I made would not peel off the front of the cake.

I also love that you taught yourself because that’s where I’m at as well. Although I’m having a really hard time with cakes. I’m pretty good with cupcakes but I’m having a hard time icing cakes and putting fondant on. Any tips to help with that?
Thank you so much for watching! It honestly took me about a year of just practicing my butt off until I was seeing progress with icing cakes (I still have room for progress too!). Is there anything particular about it you are struggling with? I have a video on my channel about getting sharp edges on your cake with a spatula/bench scraper that might be helpful for you. The most important thing is to just keep practicing, I know its tired advice but its really true. I remember feeling really discouraged when my cakes would look lumpy or uneven, but I would just constantly practice and if I wasnt happy with my process I would watch others tutorials and just try new ways to do it. I think its really important to look at old photos of cakes you've done because sometimes the progress is hard to see yourself. Eventually you will figure out a method that works for you and I promise you will improve!!
