While f(x) was the second best selling female kpop act of 2013 After School hasn't come out with a Korean album since 2011. How high was After School ranked in 2011? I'm not saying After School isn't good, I mean, dancing-wise they're among the best. I'm just saying that f(x) has more than enough popularity to match After School and be considered one of the biggest female groups of kpop.

And in 2013, After School released the "First Love" album. Both had moderate success. Just wanted to correct you since you said that they hadn't come out with a Korean album since 2011.

People are always underestimating After School, I wonder why...
They are still one of the most well known girl groups to the general public of South Korea, they still chart within the top 10 whenever they comeback, and they have a bigger fanbase INTERNATIONALLY comepared to their South Korean fanbase.
They are know for their dancing skills, nobody can deny that. They were and always will be known as the best dance girl group. Sure they don't have the strongest vocals, but vocals aren't everything. There still is presentation, and After School never dissapoints with the strength and charisma hat they bring on stage.
And for those who don't know, After School would belong in the same tier of girl groups like Secret, Miss A, 4minute, so they are very well known.
f(x) also have larger fanbase internationally, they also known for their dance skills. After School is not that popular anymore, Orange Carmel is more popular.
Faye Chamberlain I'm sure they're great dancers, but watching these two performances I have to say AS wins this hands down. f(x) seemed to lack power in their dancing, but I'm sure they usually dance a lot better. If you ever watch AS's star dance battle performances or their dance practice videos or their special performances, they always dance with power and charisma
I'm not going to say that AS is more popular than f(x), because that's obviously a lie. But AS has had a pretty good year so far without even promoting, with their show Beauty Bible proving to be a success, their collab with Brave Brothers, Raina's all-kill song with San E and of course Orange Caramel, which new OC fans will eventually become AS fans
Sulli and Amber are the "worst" dancers in f(x). Victoria is one of the best dancers in K-pop. The rest of them are really good. Maybe Sulli a little lacking but she's pretty good too. They lacking power here for sure, they can dance a lot better, but still in this perfomance you can see f(x) unique charisma, they look still amazing.

But I think that AS is the best dancing girl group and most talented(not including vocal talent: they've done drumline, tap dancing, and even pole dancing.

I liked both Electric Shock and Flashback, but I still think AS performance was spot on. Not only the dancing but I really liked the remix of the song. Though it's my opinion, everyone thinks defferently.
It's sad that people only know victoria for her flexibility and think that she can't really dance when she has been learning ballet and traditional chinese dance for years in one of the best dance academies out there. It's also sad that people think she can't sing just because she doesn't get any real singing lines in f(x) songs (not saying that she's the best vocalist or anything) because there are better vocalists.
It's sad that any little success f(x) gets is all undermined and said to be because of sm when jessica jung promotes and supports f(x) more than sm does and when sm treats them like stepchildren.
It's sad that people automatically equate pole dancing with sluts and prostitution when it also happens to be a piece of art and an an actual dance that requires incredible coordination and is probably one of the hardest dances there are.
It's sad that people bash idols for sexy concepts and dances without thinking about why it's done in the first place.

f(x) is such a unique girl group. they are not like the others that has to do sexy concepts just to make them popular. Of course there may have some similarities in their every comeback, because it's not them who decides about their concept or anything, we can say that they are totally under their agency's control, that's why even if fans want them to do something new or anything, they can't. But the real thing is that f(x) is really really a UNIQUE group. SM needs to promote them more.

Even in 2022 I don't know any girl group that can come close to After School. I love both groups and I'm kind of SM stan but After School is top tier for me. I ve been a kpop fan since first gen but After School performances has always been the best.

+Potato Sensei (KimSsiel) I think they just edited out the audience sounds and basically just ripped the mic vocals + backing track. They usually do that just to help kpop performances get more attention to prove they sound really good.

I don't know what's u guys said... But the point is.... U can see how gg back then always perform live (singing live) u can clearly hear that without any doubt. But gg nowadays regularly use loud backtrack n that's why people nowadays tend to watch mr removed to make sure they sing live or not. And some of fandom just backup their fav with hard choreography as an excuse. Hahahh funny how back then girl group also have hard choreography but still singing live. Nowadays gg just focus more on performing perfect dance rather than vocal.

Afterschool. I miss them so much.. Pledis is being really unfair,, making Jung ah and jooyeon leave without any activities before. If Afterschool was busy till 2015 and 2016, Jung ah and jooyeon would've renew.. But since they need money, but pledis doesn't care about anymore they graduated. Jung ah said for one year, she wished to be on stage and stuff, but the result, graduating. If you made someone graduate, you should at least hold a concert or a end of graduation ceremony, but no.. I don't even know what stage will feel like without juyeon, since we never had one since juyeon graduated. But now we need to have a stage without two members that were like the heart of the group. Afterschool is getting older, they can't just leave them alone.

Eunice Damian Let's not act like f(x) doesn't have any dismissable members. We have Sulli who has no personality onstage, can't dance, can't sing. Then we have Amber, who apparently to f(x) fans is "the best k-pop rapper" but actually isn't a good rapper compared to most. Then there's Victoria, who I have to admit is an absolute sweetheart and has a beautiful personality. But besides that, what else does she bring to the table? Her vocals are below average, and yes, I know she's done ballet, which I do appreciate since I take ballet as well, but beside that, she doesn't have much to bring.
I know I may sound AS biased, but it's true, AS does have a couple members they could do without. But please don't sound so biased, without thinking clearly about f(x) :)
Aurora Vwj girl, my point was 1. acting and modeling shouldnt raised in a performance based discussion as this. 2. f(x) members arent dismissible. say sulli cant dance and all, but she takes on a role required for kpop groups: maknae (role, though krystal is youngest) and image. i didnt claim that members are the best in their respective areas but members take on that specific role for their group. and that response was for the context of ONLIVE's comment (that is as opposed to AS having too many members some are dismissible). this is not to try to establish f(x) being the best in this or that. AS was the first girl group I loved in K-pop, but I gotta say that f(x) won this one. Their vocals are insane 😍 They have Luna who is one of, if not the best, vocalists in K-pop.

When it comes to dancing, it's no matter what AS. I wish the world recognizes that. If Afterschool was in a better company with a lot of money, then they will be daebak. As is indeed queen of dancing. They can do everything if they set their minds for it. Drums aren't easy but they managed to do it. Tap dance, it might look easy but it's really hard. And the hardest pole dance, no one can do this, unless you practice for a year, but Afterschool did so great., I wish while they were promoted they would win something, like an award for best dance..

I don’t really want to get hate from Amber fans, and I love Amber’s tomboy style to bits...but I kinda like to see Amber grow out her hair. This is the second clip I’ve seen Amber with a tiny ponytail, and she looks really good with tied back hair. I kinda like to see this look revisited again with maybe a different hair color? Also I really like tiny pony tails...they remind me of bunny tails....
I honestly felt like this battle wasn't really fair......afterschool is amazing but i think lip singing is unacceptable compared to fx who actually singed live.
They are both dance groups, and After School's point singers did sing live, so I don't quite see your point as After School had the far superior choreography.
But Afterschool had way more dance moves.. F(x) didn't have to bend down like five times, sit down a couple times, spread their legs, etc... And singing alive, Afterschool still did so much better.. Raina and Jung ah actually sang alive.. Raina high note..

***** yea, even though AS puts up great performances, they're still underrated. They're not as popular/huge as 2ne1, Sistar, and/or SNSD no matter how much effort they put into their performances. For example, their 'First Love' promotion included pole dancing and even though they did get praises and all, they were still underrated, they did not won any award from music shows and they were beaten by Sistar who did not have a comeback stage as huge as AS's. So no matter how great AS stages are, a bigger group with much popularity will always surpass them with their "non-special" comebacks that does not really include or introduce new skills/talent, just a new song (like all comebacks really).
