  • The M2, officially referred to as the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman metro line (Turkish: M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman metro hattı), is a rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro. It is colored light green on the maps and route signs. The M2 operates between Hacıosman in southern Sarıyer to Yenikapı in south-central Fatih on the historic peninsula of Istanbul. Shuttle trains run from Sanayi to Seyrantepe to Rams Park. The M2 line has 16 stations, all but one underground, and a total length of 23.49 kilometers (14.60 mi). A daily ridership of about 500,000 makes it the busiest line of the Istanbul Metro system. Enjoy!

The Alstom S-1 model, I believe shown in this video, may have taken design influence from the R-46. Unit #816 (Today's 5866) was first shipped to Venezuela and put on display by Pullman to advertise their rolling stock for Caracas De Metro back in the 1970's, although instead Alstom was chosen.

It is true that alstom metros are used in the Istanbul m2 metro. However, those alstoms are not in this video :) Currently, alstom is rarely used on the M2 line, and hyundai rotem metro trains produced in 2002 (gray metro train) and 2017 are frequently used.

@@RadiusEdit7064 the trains on M2 are based on the same design as the Caracas Metro Alstom trains; you can see this influence in the dimensions and the hexagonal shape of the body and the placement and size of the windows and the doors

the design of the Caracas Metro trains are very influenced by other transit systems in the US that were modern at the time, such as the Washington Metro and the San Francisco BART which also have the same hexagonal shape of the car body; initially the first proposal was gonna be pneumatic trains such as those on the Mexico Metro but the Venezuelans determined that such a system would not be well adapted to Caracas' climatic conditions and instead only accepted steel-wheeled trains from that point on
at that moment Pullman Standard and Alstom entered the show, but due to certain problems the R46 stock was having at the time Alstom was chosen. The Venezuelans had alerady learnt from the North Americans though and the Alstom train design was heavily influenced by them
