My Nordic Track recumbent bike had a knocking sound when pedaling and I was thinking the flywheel/clutch bearings were bad. I took off all the cowling and found the flywheel axle nuts were both loose. Tightened them and now no more knocking sound.
Any chance you have a source/link for the other bearings in that assembly? I'm thinking that if I'm going to the trouble of taking it apart, I might as well future-proof it by replacing the other bearings while it's in pieces.
I replaced my one-way bearing this weekend and the clutch still slips. I'm thinking there's something wrong with the shaft that fits inside. Excessively worn or not perfectly round.
I've seen instances where there was grease on the shaft, that I didn't clean off, that caused it to slip with a new bearing. I cleaned the shaft and tried again and was good to go..... I've also seen instances where the shaft itself was split length wise.
Most likely, they are very common on most ICON machines..ie Nordictrack,Proform etc.... yes, we have those bearings: gitfitpensacola.com/shop/parts/one-way-clutch-bearing/
Yes, just the clutch bearing as far as slippage goes. The link is for just the clutch bearing. The others can be replaced of course, but likely unnecessary.
I'm thinking next time I cross paths with this issue I'll make a video and show how to do it with a hammer and flat piece of steel. I believe I bought that press from harbor freight for about $80
@@gitfit875 I'm back. Just wanted to thank you for the video. I have tried everything under the sun and decided to buy the bearing and install it. I do have everything I need to do the job. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks!
Choose a socket (deep dish that is slightly smaller than the bearing part you need to remove and keep hitting it with a hammer evenly and it come right out and go back in.
At the part where the bearing is being pressed out, a link appears on the top right on how to do it without a press in case you don't have one laying around.
That's my bike in the video and it is still working great! Thanks for the repair!

What I did was brought them to a bearing shop and bought some there.

Great video. Do you sell the bearings for the GX 4.0 model? Thanks!
The link in the description will fit that model
What's with the bad music?
What is the second song that plays??
Around 2:47
Love it!!
Where can you buy the bearings?
Do they do them for GX 3.4 bikes? The flywheel looks the same as mine.
Thanks N

The average joe, like me, is not going to have a press handy.

@@gitfit875 Thanks for your help. I was able to get the bearing, spacer and the clutch bearing installed without a press. The bike is working great!

Because everyone has a bearing remover sitting around 🙄
