Hi Spiderdoc - you are correct with that observation. The drawback to doing that - the water pressure can force the mesh to begin to pull away from the glue on the frame. Over time you can actually cause the mesh to pop of the frame, ruining your screen. This will especially be obvious if your emulsion is not dissolving right away from either underexposure / chemical hardening / locked in emulsion.... the many variables that can cause emulsion to not dissolve. With all that said - there are times when you need an easy way to pop off some undissolved emulsion and turning the screen around and being careful is definitely the right choice.
With a high pressure pressure washer you technically do not need lacquer thinner - turn the screen around and start blasting from the squeegee side. Takes a bit and is terribly inefficient - but you can do it!
When I remove the emulsion, I do it on the inside of the frame, since it is the weakest and has the fewest layers. Cheers.
