Today we will travel to Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta. Beringharjo Market (Javanese: ꦥꦱꦂꦧꦼꦫꦶꦁꦲꦂꦗ, translit. Beringharja Market) is one of the markets in the city of Yogyakarta, located on Jalan Marga Mulya number 16, Yogyakarta. Beringhaijo Market, which was originally called Gedhe Market, was founded during the reign of Sultan Hamengku Buwono I when he built the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace. This market was the central building for economic activities for the people of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate as well as the main component in the completeness of the city as the capital at that time, which consisted of a square, palace complex, big mosque and market. Gedhe Market is in the north of the palace complex, right in the area north of Fort Vredeburg. The existence of four components consisting of a square surrounded by central government buildings in the south, a mosque on the west side, and a market in the north are components that always exist in traditional cities in Java.
