Head of Museums and Collections at Glasgow Life Duncan Dornan talks to TBIH's Cheeyun Kwon about the Burrell Collection - Art Fund Museum of the Year laureate 2023.
The Burrell Collection is one of Glasgow’s most internationally significant, sustainable, and treasured museums. It reopened to the public in March 2022 following a £68.25 million refurbishment that made its A-listed home a modern, greener museum that shows more of the wonderful objects in the collection to visitors. Around 9,000 objects form The Burrell Collection including one of the most significant holdings of Chinese art in the UK, and medieval treasures including stained glass, arms, and armour.
