Love this new project! They call it the golden age for a reason. The art of these is truly phenomenal. You are saving a treasure! Nice to see you work with the Tengujo. Were you using wheat paste? I also like to perform the tear seals with the page wet but i usually blot it so it's dryer that i think you were working it here--i like to say "dry it until it's wet but doesn't glisten anymore". I think this helps the paste get sucked down into the tissue rather than pulled out into my blotters so we achieve a better bond. What do you think?
Thank you Dr. Paul, yes, I used a sponge to get rid of most liquid before applying the paste. It’s difficult to work with Tengu tissue and excess liquid otherwise.
Peter! I hope this isn’t the same book that I was bidding on and lost recently. If it was, I’m glad it’s in your hands but I apologize for bidding it up if it was. 🤦♂️
Great job Peter. I think you are correct with choosing Tengujo over leaf casting for the rap featured. Look forward to the next installment.
Thank you, Jerry, yes, gave a couple of the wraps than needed leaf casting quite the good support!
For as bad as the spine is, the cover itself if amazingly vibrant, and the corners are really sharp. This is going to look great when you're done.
Thank you Jason. It does have beautiful colors except for the edges, there’s fading. Will see how it tolerates the treatments. Stay tuned!

Hi Captain, I'm not so sure. I've had this for over a year and the seller was from Mexico. Is it the same one? I paid about $120 with shipping.
@ oh this must be a different one then I was bidding on one and a similar condition at Heritage and it went for three times that price.
Wow, that’s nuts. Yeah this didn’t go up that high. It was an eBay purchase and I looked it up, it was Nov 2023. So exactly a year ago!
