📺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO :
This little tip is something I've only been able to do since using plugin eq's...it's super helpful when you are stuck with a stereo file and not able to go back to the mix to remove the unwanted frequencies....enjoy :)

Don't go too radical with this tip it's just an outline of how to subtract EQ :) this works well in dynami EQ mode too...have you tried this ever?
Streaky...wake up early (5am) have your coffee, an apple, walk for 30mn (medium fast) shower snd have a nice breakfast...everyday-no excuses... tell me after 2 weeks if you still feel youare getting old! You can add a couple pull ups at the end of the walk if you want. Cheers! Oh and most important, best time to talk with Jesus is while walking! :)
@@nadimabou-chacra7479 Exercise is definitely the most important, I agree. Staves off old age, quite a bit.
Nadim Abou-Chacra my morning routine :
5am wake
Pint of water
Meditate 20mins
Work out 45mins
Read 15mins
Gratitude/ pray 10mins
Breakfast - protein and shake (green juice)
School run / work 👌🏻
I've used this technique loads of times; it's gotten me out of a lot of sticky situations. Great tip!
P.S.
As an idea for a future video, maybe you could do a full-on tutorial on how to use multiband compression - just different applications, guidelines, general purpose.
I feel like I still lack experience, using it.
None of Many ok cool I’ll show you how I use it
"I'm gonna tell you *everything* that I know."
I promise you, your channel will grow like wildfire.
even if he's channel doesn't become incredibly popular, which i think it's a bit too niche and advanced for that, most people don't have access to the plugins and even if they somehow crack them (i hope they don't since breaking the law, even to make good art is illegal, wouldn't wanna have poor kids being able to use all the benefits of modernity), vast majority of people don't have the room setup, speakers, or even like good enough headphones to really do this "properly". even now he's really improved, at a minimum, thousands of people's music. to really share information like this for free is better than making a "how to turn a loop into a song" or "how to make lil baby type beat" that might get more views, because frankly most people aren't in this for the long run and will drop out before they get to a place where mastering is going to make a worthwhile difference.
Aprpeciate it Streaky. There is no point in being selfish about knowledge when you can make the world a better place... Thanks!
Agreed 👍
Agreed 👍
Streaky you saved my mixes. Your courses and channel have transformed my workflow and the quality of my music tenfold. Thank you man.
I'd say for new players, you have to be careful using this method. You have to *listen* for resonances first, then use the sweep method simply to narrow it down. If you just sweep through *without listening* first, you'll just be creating phantom resonances that aren't there, then cutting bands that you don't need to. I used to do this when I was a newbie. Thanks for the vid, Streaky. Can't wait to see more. :)
Yes that’s a great point I missed out saying...damn...I had heard the problem first 😔
@@Streaky_com Aye. I heard it too. :)
No worries about missing out that detail. I'm sure newbies will learn quickly when they have over 100 EQ notches and are still finding resonances. 😂
Streaky how do you hear the problem? What does it sound like? Could you do a follow up video to clarify?
Also, the Pro Q3 has the band solo to help find the offending frequency without boosting. 😉
@@dicasaudiopt5659
Oh yeah, I hardly use that feature! Totally forget it's there. It's pretty useful, to be honest. :)
That’s super generous of you! Glad to be along for the ride.
I (mix engineer) tend to use a wider Q and less of a boost, and I specifically listen for things that mask other things. Like, I’ll boost the guitar and sweep to see if it interferes with the vocal. If I find interference, I cut that frequency and adjust to taste.
Using dynamic eq like this is great. Sometimes one frequency will pop out only when the singer is singing a certain note, but you need that frequency when other notes are sung. A dynamic eq will only pull that out when it gets to be a bother.
Rock on streak. We are all learning from you and your attitude is contagious.
Never too old mate. I'm 52 and still producing and mixing dance tracks in the UK with some of the best.

THANK YOU BROTHER
This man doing God's work 😩
you already said a lot thanks! top mastering engenieer
Dude, you earned my sub! I try to give away the knowledge I've learned too! I made a career out of drumming and working on that side of the biz so I have been helping some younger singer/songwriters by mixing and mastering them for free or super cheap $20 or so and helping them along the path! Feels great to help! I'm new to the audio engineering things altho I've been told I have quite an ear for it. Been mixing for a little over a year now. Really appreciate the knowledge! Thank you!!!
Age is just A number
*Like Your Mastering metres Numbers*
I see plenty of tutorials on mastering which start with a very good sounding mix and show how to take it that last few percent. I would love to see you cover how you treat things when you have a pretty bad mix, and asking for a remix isn't an option! :) Best of luck, Streaky!
You can only do so much unfortunately but yes normally using eq to try and mold it...
@@Streaky_com I'd also love to see a video like this. If you need a bad mix to demonstrate, I can offer you one of my mixes. haha
With solo mode you can hear the resonance without the boost. That way you avoid creating the resonance with the boost. It is amazing how much a resonance affects the track.
Thanks so much! You’re not old man hehe but appreciate your way of thinking, share and help others
From an older to an old guy, thanks for sharing
If you could make a video on monitor placement, especially setting up multiple pairs in one control room that would be awesome. Big fan of your content. Keep up the great work!
Nice words at the beginning, I've always thought that it was sad that when a craftsman passes away all his experience and knowledge is lost. 🤔
