I wish to see Watanabe play MD again as his performance with endo has so many remarkable plays. I feel he suits MD more compare to XD as in XD, the males are required to perform heavy smashes which is not Watanabe style of playing. But it seems like there isnt any Japan MD that could match Watanabe in MD

what I don't get is why people criticize him for his supposed lack of power. for starters, his smashes are actually very accurate so he doesn't need to blast them like Axelsen or Kento. and his smashes aren't even that week, he can actually smash decently well. besides, he has such a wide variety of shots, not to mention his signature stop drop that is just eye candy to watch. a very well-rounded player. incredibly gifted!

What I wanna know is: how did he know to run cross court at 1:10? I would just be standing there like a lemon
Opponent was out of position and their arm was already fully extended before contact with the shuttle, so their return is limited to a front court drop on the same side.

渡辺勇大はシングルも上手い
He was No 1 in singles through U17 Japan junior National games, if I recall correctly. He switched to double later due to being short for single players. You can see his amazing foundations from his single play days.
