I think it was only fair when they all gave thumbs up to Srh and they were last previous year so low expectations from them going into this season but they proved there critics wrong so good on them

@@sahildadhwal yeah I don't know how people can claim bias when they literally gave SRH a thumbs up last year and SRH ended up last lol. And is it really unfair to think that a team that has had 4-5 captaincy and head coach changes in the last 4 seasons may not do well? It was the sign of a dysfunctional franchise lol

I remember DC in 2020, on a 4 game losing streak along with RCB needing to win their last game to finish top 2. Ponting scratching his head struggling to get a partner for Dhawan who was enjoying a 600 run season breaking his IPL 100 jinx. His Indian trio of Rahane, Shaw and Pant were not giving them much runs. To win the last game vs RCB, he shrewdly picked Daniel Sams (The allrounder who replaced an overseas opener Jason Roy) as the 5th bowler along with Ashwin, Axar, Nortje and Rabada to slow Padikkal and Kohli.
The move worked a bit with Sams opening spell 2-0-10-0 in the powerplay but conceded 30 in last 2
But in Qualifier 1 vs MI, were 0-3 with Shaw, Rahane and Dhawan gone for ducks against Boult and Bumrah. Axar and Stoinis saved them some respectability. So in their Qualifier 2, DC gambled with promoting their best middle overseas bat in Stoinis to open and it worked vs SRH but backfired against MI in the final when he went for a 1st ball duck against Boult.
Still DC gambled, made bold moves and made the best of their resources when it mattered the most, so I'm looking forward to seeing what RR do.
They'll bring Nandre Burger to counter a Right handed dominant batting in RCB, but will they push Rovman Powell to open with Jaiswal considering RCB weak spin attack and that Tom Kohler Cadmore has no experience in these conditions. It sets Hetmyer free to bat in the middle order at 5.

Best trio back together.
It’s SRH who solely redefined modern day T20 batting. KKR always sent Narine as a pinch hitter & didn’t bother losing his wicket and it came off well this season. Where’s SRH employed this imposing batting strategy with 2 of their front line batsmen. Along with Klaasen, the remaining batters follow the same approach. It may not always work but kudos to Cummins & Vettori.
Batting wise this season KKR is leagues ahead of SRH.
Much more consistent and not dependent on just 1 or 2 batters.
Not to forget this season KKR has crossed 200+ score more times way ahead than any other team and holds the RECORD for the same in a single season ever in IPL.
BATTING DEPTH matters.
@@prksam i didn’t mean about batting depth, it’s about approach. In fact it only proves that it’s gutsy of SRH to have such approach with lesser batting depth.

@@prksam man don’t you get what I was referring to. KKR obviously has batting depth and looks stronger but SRH is the one that started playing with such approach. Even today they tried to hit big despite losing wickets. I know you waited till the match today to prove something else but my post was not about who has stronger batting line up or who is a stronger side. It’s the new approach which analysts were pointing out.

Gambhir already applied this approach way back in 2017 when Lynn and Narine scored 105 in 6 overs.
Problem is when KKR does it no commentator highlights it as sportingly as they would if CSK or MI would have done that and exactly the reason why you gen z kids believe SRH started it this season.
In fact it was KKR who started this against RCB this year with Narine and Salt scoring 85 in PP.
SRH literally followed that against MI but SRH went big in only like 2-3 games in the powerplay as compared to KKR who consistently scored 75+ in powerplay in many games.
What Head and Abhishek have achieved is remarkable but if you are not consistent with that approach then in the end it proves to be just a "Flash in the pan"

Great show guys. GK was on form today. Although I find it a strange production/programming choice to have them select only 1 domestic and 1 foreign player for retention picks. 2 and 2 would be a more realistic scenario.
Yes.. captains were more likely to be retained by the team, one more option could have been interesting.
Selecting 2 each needs a lot of thought whereas selecting just 1 Indian and 1 foreign player to retain is easier on the fly.
To be honest 2023 there was no chance in hell SRH finished last and yet they did , so fair call , who knows what will happen anyways.
Also SRH tends to do well when people dont rate them

In the resurgance of RCB Karan Sharmas contribution is easily forgotten. Ofcourse everything else mentioned was spot on. But Karan Sharma along with Swapnil filled to their best ability the gaping hole left by Yuzi all those years and Wanindu last year. Wicket taking spinners are so important in the middle when batsmen try to hit those towering sixes.

It was very important for CSK to get knocked out this time, actually saved the credibility of IPL. All around India and even some of my cricket fanatic friends were saying that IPL has been fixed this season to give Dhoni the perfect farewell by making CSK win, this just irritated me as an IPL fan. It would have been painful to watch CSK lift another trophy, considering their team was far far from a champion team. Good to see, the best performing teams qualify for the playoffs deservingly.
Toxic people or i say Haters always did this with CSK. In past year and also this year. When csk won d match these guys bashed comment section of chennaiipl and all other Instagram handles by saying " fixer fixer .fixing team. Fixing krke match jeete and all " and when csk lost the match these ppl kept on saying ki fixing kiya to bhi har gye ...kaha gya best finisher boring match ,playing test cricket. Weak team se har gye and all . " And most of them were rcb fans ( not all rcb fans r of these mentality there r many good fans ) . So throughout the season haters were just trolling CSK in their win and loss . Cz may be thier fav. Was not performing well or they just wanted to spread hate .
My respect to harsha b has increased when he said true facts about MI and its lose ....blaming captain alone is wrong ....

Really enjoyed GK, Harsha and Joy insights. This season I have watched only one match the blockbuster CSA vs RCB last league match. But I have watched all cricbuzz commentaries here. It's sad that my favourite team CSK couldn't qualify but they played well and took it to the last over. This show is wonderful and gives as much entertainment as I would get watching the actual match. Thanks to entire team. 😇😇😇

Virat's ultraggressive approach in powerplay against fast bowlers started in IPL 2023 but his intent against spinners in last IPL was extremely poor so I never expected him to modify his game and more importantly change his mindset this much that from being a player who was playing at strike rate of 105 to 110 against spinners in last 4 to 5 years in t20s, his strike rate would jump to 140+ and be hitting sixes through slog sweep for fun even against world class spinners like Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja, Noor Ahmed and Rahul Chahar.

And you spoke about removing captain. You take away captaincy from a player when they are not performing, not when they are doing great. MI tried to fix something that had not broken and has paid the price for it.
Just imagine. 10 seasons as a captain. 5 trophies. 7 times in playoffs. 9 times in top 5. Nobody, absolutely nobody have come even close to what Rohit has achieved as a captain.
@@benkuriakosejohn379 my friend read it again I said plays for the team not his best season. and he is not some great captain , he is tactically poor, the main reason behind MI success is not Rohit Sharma, with that MI team where I had sky hardik Pollard batting in the middle and malinga and bumrah bowling the death overs and trent boult opening the bowling even I can captain and win. The USP of MI has always been their support staff and scouting.And my respect for the person decreased when his fans were abusing hardik he never told them to stop it. That shows how self centred he is. Yes he is the most dangerous ODI batsmen given that the bowl doesn't swing. And the one thing surprises me the most how media never questioned him even after losing the WC Shows the hypocrisy level of this media , yes when you are close to people who have the power to influence the narrative, you will be treated differently than your fellow mates.
