The Idiom " Add fuel to the fire" has literally the Same meaning in my first language Malayalam. We say " Eri Theeyil Enna ozhikkuka"

There are some idioms I can work out the meaning the first time I see. Eg: to add fuel to the fire. Somes idioms can be translated word-by-word into my mother tongue which is Vietnamese and I can still understand. However, probably more 95% of the idioms can't be understood if translated that way. More importantly, all of your videos are very helpful

Languages have got some idioms similar in form and meaning. For example, in Persian (Farsi), they say "zædi tooye xal" which literally means "You hit the dart on the bullseye." that is very similar to "You hit the nail on the head.".

In Farsi we have an idiom ''ba ye tir do neshoon zadan'' and the literal translation would be ''hit two targets with one arrow'' which is similar to the English idiom ''Kill two birds with one stone''.
