The fact that they added d'vorah and ignored jade and even forgot that there are cooler female ninjas than her including millena and skarlet. Even in the game she killed some of the main characters.
How are Meleena or Skarlet cooler than D'Vorah? They are all jokes. D'Vorah is a reasonable, strong, and witty kharacter that simply does her job well and doesn't f up as an idiot. Not any time. She more than deserved to be here. It's a shame they didn't give her more agenda as they usually did in the games (though she still got sort of flanderized in MK11, because they simply gave her a "I-am-only-a-survivor" attitude).

I liked Sonya here, she is really tough and most importantly she is extremely attractive, her design was sick so yeah I love her!!
She had no place being in this film. Just one of the MANY characters they tried to cram into a 90 minute film. Should have kept her for a third/fourth film IMO. Just WAY too much going on in this movie.

People hate D'Vorah for a completely wrong reason. She didn't deserve that. At all. Yes, she is a treachorous, backstabbign insect, but it's not the trait she is hated for. Instead, people hate her for eliminating idiots like Baraka and Meleena who were complete jokes as kharakters and totally had it coming.
I think it's mainly for rabid nostalgia. I think D'Vorah is a cool character too, and far more original than Mileena and Skarlet, and even Jade, who for the most part started out as 'Kitana Klones', they are all good characters.
These people make the rash judgements of thinking they were passed over in favor of D'Vorah, not realizing that they could be added later in the series.

Sonya Blade is stupidly overpowered in the animated series. She has no superpowers, unlike Liu Kang and Johnny Cage, and she didn't get dedicated tournament training, unlike Liu Kang and Kung Lao, yet she beats ancient fighters and monstrosities from Outworld like it's no big deal.
