I love RealPars when it comes to industrial automation. You guys rock. But I was wondering can I follow up with this series of PLCnext tutorial just by using simulation and not actually buying the actual product?
Hi Abel. That's an interesting question and not an easy one to answer. The PLCnext Engineer software has some limited simulation capability that allows you to test logic, but not to actually simulate I/O like some other vendors. Our intention is to take viewers past the logic stage and do some actual wiring and testing of field devices. If you like to play with field devices such as switches, fans, motors, etc., then buying the Starterkit is a good deal. If actual hardwiring and field device testing is not of interest to you, then it would be best to give it a miss.
I have starter kit and new windows cpu. I am having trouble establishing communication with olc & think your video isn't explicit enough and you go way to fast!! For example, phoenix contract has numerous software options to download. I had to call them and ask which one I needed. There are also 6 options for the AXC F 2152 Controller all with the same order number. Which one?? My software is similar but different from yours and I have watched this video over 50 times and failed to understand. Maybe I am just too incompetent to take on this endeavor...?!? At least I spent a bunch of money on something to use as target practice!!
Hi Bruce, Sorry to hear you are having problems. Frustrating I’m sure as I’ve been there myself. I have to admit, it wasn’t easy establishing a connection between the Controller and my computer. But, I did get there, and haven’t had any issues since. Phoenix does indeed have lots of AXCF2152’s with the same order number, and I had the same question as you. Phoenix told me to select the oldest version and all would work, and it did. (04:10) How is your software different than mine? Is your computer address set to 192.168.1.1? (05:09) Video 2 stops at setting computer IP address. Video 3 continues with the actual steps to establish communication. I don’t know if you’ve watched Video 3? ua-cam.com/video/h7Ari9nmQgU/v-deo.html Phoenix Contact has an excellent blog and forum section for users. www.plcnext-community.net/en/ Please do let us know how you are progressing. Don’t give up! It’s worth the effort.
@@realpars Thanx for your response!! I will start new project with oldest controller version. Phoenix Contact recommended I install software version 2021.0.2 (latest version) above software achives in software downloads. Yes, I've watched video 3 about 28 times & find it informative and to the point. My dropdown for testing cpu to controller comunication is quite different with numerous options (most with a red x). Of course my cpu has no ehernet jack, so I had to order usb to ethernet adapter. I find it pathetic that well after a month I still cannot communicate with plc controller. Everyone is is praising the video with short responses. I assume none/most of them do not have said plc trainer and just following along for informative reasons? I am going to do my best to not give up.....yet!!
@@brucehackney1276 Hi Bruce. I'm glad you're still with us. Your USB/Ethernet adaptor may be your culprit??? You probably already have done this, but are you sure your IP address is assigned to the adaptor? I've not seen the dropdown for testing that you refer to. (most with red x). The only online device scan I know of is at 1:26 of ua-cam.com/video/h7Ari9nmQgU/v-deo.html If you are still having issues, perhaps we can carry on this conversation via a different media?
@@realpars After setting this endeavor on the "backburner" for months, I decided to give it one last try. I've got everything set as explained but after doing the scan the controller ip address and subnet mask remain blank. Not certain what to do. Is there any technical support for this type of problem? My brand new P.O.S. windows laptop didn't come with an ethernet port, so i purchased a 3.0usb to ethernet adapter. This item shows and I assume it is correct and working, but...I am basically stumped again & can't go any further. Who iknows, maybe after I use it for target practice I could post the vid to youtube and get some likes.....
Thanks again RealPars. Please add subtitles.

@@realpars Thanks for your quick response. Anyways I'll try to do what I can.
It's possible to do simulation?
Hello Suresh. Yes, simulation is possible.
superb
Thank you!
nice video, where is part 3 for this ? thanks
Hi Bilal,
Thanks for your comment and support!
There is no part 3 of this video course, yet. Hopefully, very soon.
Happy learning!
What are CFCs and how to program them?
Hi Moaz,
Thanks for your comment! This would make for a great topic suggestion, I will happily pass it on to our course developers.
Happy learning!
Can I use version 2021.0.2 for the 3 tutorials?
That is the version phoenix contact told me to install.....
👌
