    At 13:36 this is N. Sycamore Ave. From Hollywood Blvd, up to Franklin Ave, This block is 900 feet and has a rise of 32.8 feet. That is about 3.68 percent of grade.

    Any of those scooters would have been perfect for that 2-mile walk i did from the bus stop to a dental office in the suburbs. I'd only need the ability to install a basket for those impromptu shopping trips. Nice review.

    I’d go with the InMotion, for sure. It’s pretty common for commuter scooters to have a single disc brake, but the dual electronic braking on that probably makes the braking pretty good, and of course it’ll handle hills very well. I know it’s pretty decently weather rated, which is a factor lots of places. When I go to work, especially in the summer, it could rain in the afternoon pretty much any day and it’s a big bonus to be ok getting wet.

    For as infrequently as you lock up, look up the Two Fish Lockblocks U-Lock Mount. You can Velcro the Kryptonite to lots of surfaces, even hang it from your handlebar. I even used it with a pocket flashlight one time on my bike when I was caught out in the dark.

    I still have a Very Old NanRobot x-4. I don’t think they make them anymore, but get this..35 lbs. 26 mph. 10.4 ah 48volt battery. I can carry it easily up and down stairs. Has a loud electric horn, front coil springs but no rear suspension. Air filled 9” front tire and solid rear tire. Zippy AF, you have to be aware because it’s rear wheel drive. I’ve wheelie/crashed a handful of times on it, even while rolling, then nailing, the throttle. I’m on my third battery. I make my own now (simple configuration), they seem to last about 2 years with decent cells (I’m using 21700 cells). I use this scooter EVERY time I go shopping, to the post office, ect. It’s just too easy to carry!!
    I wish you could include one of these in your comparison. It’ll go UP a 20 degree hill FASTER than a Lime can go DOWN the same hill..

    One trick you can use to keep stores from giving you grief about bringing your scooter inside is to grab a hand basket at the entrance and drop it on your scooters deck. Then your scooter just becomes a shopping cart. I've never had a complaint doing that. The biggest concern stores have is that you're going to ride it indoors, but with a hand basket on the deck it's not easily rideable, so they don't think twice about it.
    When it comes to commuter scooters I'd go with an emove cruiser S if I were going to give up my dual motor performance scooter (haha would never happen.) The emove cruiser S is a beast. Unbeatable range, performance scooter speeds, good brakes, good build quality (just be sure to add thread lock.) It will also outlast any other scooter on the market. You will have that thing for an eternity. It's a tad heavy for a commuter scooter, but still carriable with one arm, so I'd consider it one.

    A couple of my son's frends use scooters like that for going to college on and really seem to enjoy it and zip along quite nicely but both of them would love one of the bigger scooters but the police give them a hard time feel like they need to control everything but that's a different story 👍✌but also it is supriseing how much quicker it is than walking

    @yogadude1234 do you use after market tires on your personal scooters, or do you stick with stock tires? I’ve had a couple of flats this month, so I’m considering getting a higher quality tire to see if that helps. I’ve got an Apollo Ghost which uses 10x3” tires.

    • @yogadude1234
      @yogadude1234  Рік тому

      i use stock tires - I'm not really a big into modifications unless I feel like the scooter need it - in the case of tires the only real upgrad you can make is to PMTs - main advantage of those tires as you can plug them if they get a hole. they may have better performance, but a lot of these guys out here think they are freaking electric scooter racers it's not really necessary

      @@yogadude1234 thanks. I looked at those PMT tires, and they look pretty durable, so I'll give them a shot. The tires I have poke holes in the tube the instant I inflate it it seems

    I honestly think the eMove cruiser is the best commuter scooter. Bit on the heavy side, but it’s price accessible, if it isn’t, refurbished is a couple hundred more accessible. And it’s repairable, dual brake, and has nice comfortable feel, folds up compact enough to carry inside my semi and be out of the road. All the ones you showed are just TOO small. (Especially for any commuters that are in the heavy side.) I max out the eMove cruiser at 352 and it’s solid at my weight. I don’t try to run 30 everywhere though.

    My bread and butter is commuter scooters. I don't work for or represent Hiboy, but I send a lot of business their way. The Hiboy MAX Pro is my favorite model. I believe on a full battery, the S2R would have pulled the hill for you. Clearly the dual motor scooter is going to win the hill climbing battle. Might not be a fair fight. I dig the comparison style video, and look forward to hearing your full thoughts on them.

It has the first responsive (instead of off/on) throttle, reasonable speed control (I don't want to go more than 23), regen breaking controlled through a classy app. Overall InMotion is perfect for Seattle.
