Beppu was one of my favorite cities from my last trip to Japan. Also rented a car and drove out to Usa Jingu and all around Kunisaki peninsula which were really cool!

Thank you for such a fun adventure ! Beppu with all its shotengai reminds me of Yonago SO much (a cool old city near where I stayed last time I was in Japan that I went to a few times just to wander around). As soon as you guys walked by that second foot bath I had to run and fill up my foot bath bucket and put some of my packet of Beppu bath powder in it. It smells kinda weird and retro but it was perfect for this walk hehe. Hope you also got some soaking time in while you were there !

Something I greatly appreciate in urban areas of Japan is that there are almost always plants. Someone placed plants there whether potted or something that was allowed to flourish in spite of it's surroundings - even in back alleys. "Oh hey, an empty space, let's put a plant there!" I love that about Japan.

I finally caught up with the stream! I fell in love with a Beppu when you filmed here previously, it’s very beautiful. And I especially love the barbed wire plant - they are very rare 💜
So many things to love in this stream! That shrine at 3:34. Random bamboo grove at 4:34 and many more. It is just a start, thankful for being able to catch up after work.

I hope to see some of those in the near future. I've been trying to visit Japan with a friend since early 2020. And it is really frustrating just waiting and waiting if and when Japan will open up its borders again. Well it is open now, but the saving ups are almost completely gone 🥲
But at least I can count on you and your beautiful and inspiring exploring around Japan

11:00 Onsen and pink movie theatres!?! I’m there dude.
Shame I had to duck out for the last 15 or so minutes, was a fun stream. Its really nice to see, both in these and overhead when mapping, a part of a city that I haven't ever seen before. Since the odds of getting into Japan anytime soon aren't great this is a nice exercise.
4 hours late, but 6 hours late by the time I drop this in the comment box loved the stream, wish I caught it live video quality was nice and clear for 720p. Saw Rui-san come in the live chat replay, that was a nice surprise, I really love her voice.
Dogen's take on collecting one's thoughts and writing them down to be able to express yourself better/creatively hit a spot. Lately I have found myself getting lazy and relying in emojis more often than not instead of using my own words.
Observation: almost all of you (Norm, Dogen, Chris, Sharla, Emma etc) change tones when you speak in Japanese

In Brazil there's quite a few countryside cities at 500k and over too, it's all a matter of reference. Here in Canada people would probably consider that almost a big city.

Hey Norm, in regards to the ramp, are letters of recommendations a thing there? If the city or one of the other organizations that gave you approval were enthusiastic about the project and knew that this one ramp company was holding you up, maybe they would be happy help. Maybe someone knows someone that can help ease their fears.
I love watching these videos. I’m someone that dreams to one day move to and live in Japan.
I suffer with agoraphobia and haven’t left the house in over a decade; your live streams walking around are my only real way of “going for a walk”.
I haven’t been able to catch one live so far but I hope to soon. Anyway thank you for taking the time to create this type of content, not many understand why I like watching someone just walking around but I find it great and hope you continue. 😁

Best part of Bebbu is that Peppu means in Finnish bum and that was enough for me to visit there
