It was lovely to see Barry being seriously concerned with Mike’s admission. True friends are brutally honest with each other and share so much love. Your friendship of 26 years is such a gem. I hope it continues for many, many more years ❤
@@2Question-Everything As chaotic and rogue as he may be, Barry comes across quite sensitive. They are a lovely group of friends and I am so glad they are continuing strong with the business they built together.
Intentional or not, the beautiful example - Barry hearing Mike talk about feeling overwhelmed, and that feeling driving his "have you ever thought about leaving" - and hearing not just the words but then trying to dig into the circumstances behind it, and while not beating around the bush, still with such gentle consideration to how difficult admitting that and talking about that must be, approaching the conversation with a mind to problem solve it, so Mike may not have to feel that way (or to that extent) in the future. It's the empathy for your team mates that really shines. At the end of the day, you are all people, and care about one another as people. Really interesting one, I enjoyed the funny anecdotes but also the tough, honest bits. You've come so far, and have done so much to be so very proud of - and at the end of the day, you have "influenced" so many people, in so many positive ways: you have helped them choose to cook rather than take-out, how to shop smarter, how to not feel the limitation of a tight budget so much, to cut through the confusion and the mystery of the bits and bobs around a kitchen. Your channel has been a huge support to so many people in their journey through their relationship with food.
That episode was WAY TOO SHORT. We need more genuine friendship talk from sorted! You guys are such a fun blend of different personalities that its absolutely amusing to see you be so different yet understand each other so well! Ill love to hear you talk more about yourself (obviously only as much as you are comfortable sharing). Like what were you doing before sorted? Was Mike really a music teacher (and if yes, are there any past students that watch)? How the whole "Ben cooked for the queen" thing happened? We only know snippets! And as a p.s. Mike should 100% do what makes him happy, no matter what it would be, but sorted without him would NEVER be the same. He is such a joy to watch! Hope you guys are doing great and that there will be more episodes of you talking about YOU ❤
I wanted to give Mike a hug 😢 it was lovely how the boys acknowledged how Mike's role lends to higher probability of burnout. Please give him a re-do of his dream menu! Something that truly celebrates him, and not just a banter.
I feel like a lot of episodes that Mike is in end up with him being side-cast. Whenever he tries something out of the ordinary, he is laughed at for "pushing his limits." Even if he wins normally, everyone is surprised. Jamie is the riskiest normal these days, and Barry, with his concoctions, but somehow Mike still gets the rap. Should do a Mike appreciation week or month! His next birthmonth maybe?! I'm sure he has some episode ideas he has wanted to do for a while but keep getting pushed back due to other ideas
Just listening to the conversation about Mike and his work in production - I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that in times when the channel has changed, when the focus has changed, the style has changed, the pace or even just the opening titles - that I didn't take the time to appreciate the whys and whos. I have always been a fan since I found you 7 years ago. I became very attached when your videos were the thing that kept me sane and entertained as a new mum - camped on the sofa, sortedfood as a all day constant in the background, eating, sleeping and holding my new baby, alone and tired and scared. It made me very judgemental. But I have always persevered through any of my gripes because it was always brilliant. But, Mike, if I ever was harsh, I apologise. What you do, what you all do, has brought me so much joy and entertainment and been a real comfort in the scariest and biggest changes of my life. You have taught me. both cooking and about how to be a more concious and considerate person. Thank you. To all the guys, but almost especially, Mike et al. BTW. Still a massive Jamie Stan.
I love these podcast episodes, and this one was particularly lovely. There's so much negativity out there, but your friendship and mission and obvious affection for one another are all consistent bright spots. I hope you'll keep doing videos like this!
i bumped into ben a few weeks ago on the tube and i was too starstruck to speak coherently. for me, sortedfood has been a constant stream of wholesomeness, culinary education and fun chaos, and i am very grateful for the work and care that you have put into it for all these years. each of you (including all the people behind the cameras) deserve a hug and i am very happy that i found you more than a decade ago.
Big props to Mike for the vulnerability, it's so hard to do, but it's such an important to conversation to have. But also and equal massive respect to Barry for taking the time to say (more than once) no no I want to dial back to what you're feeling and really understand, and find out what caused it. I think we've all been in that situation where we've been vulnerable, but then felt too exposed and feel like we've said enough, or not sure how to explain our feelings in words, and tried to move on from it to another topic. And it's very easy to go "well they want to move on and I don't want them to feel awkward so sure" but it's very inspiring for Barry to go "no sorry, can we go back to that point, we haven't really got to the bottom of why you felt like that and I want to understand it (because you're my friend and I don't want to happen again)" SO absolute bravo
While true something I value even more is the privacy of the people I enjoy watching. I was watching a streamer the other day and people asked for a GF reveal. He just said "never". Keeping work and life separate. I really respect that. It's a bit silly to think any of us are chummy with the people we watch. But, as they said here as well, if I don't like specific content then just don't watch it. I think this is healthy for any creator. Let them do what they do and I'll watch what I like and skip the rest. It would be spectacularly weird if our views synched on everything. As for influencers.... well..... Sorted has influenced me somewhat for the better I would say, but it depends what the term means :).
@@goffe2282 Yeah,i've seen that with other youtuber comments on other channels ! where they just record from home/office/or one room, they ask if they can have a tour of their house !? FFS get a grip ! that is maybe the private home ! This isn't "through the keyhole" just enjoy the content and stop being so f**king nosy ! as you state,we are not chummy with these people, just watch and enjoy.
Made Personal was actually one of my favorites because of the more personalized food and the glimpses at their personal lives. Agree with needed to have their own line of privacy, but it’s nice when the share a bit of themselves too.
As a business owner putting purpose over profit, this is one of the best conversations I’ve ever heard. I’ve watched quietly for years and love this channel but to hear about it as a business and how to juggle your passion and work, needed this
Boys, I’ve missed having heartfelt conversations like this ever since the death of my BFF (of 33 yrs) & then more recently my husband (of 28 yrs), so thank you for letting me join your circle for awhile. ❤️
The distinct personalities of the original 4 and then adding Kush and James with their wholly separate life stories and perspectives create the base for the community. Thank you all for the gift of loving what you do.
You all are the only large channel I’ve seen that still interacts in the comments, and I think it really helps maintain a sense of community. You don’t feel like an almost 3 million subscriber channel.
This is a great video for discussing Men's mental health. Being able to open up to your friends and discuss when you have had times when you are feeling down or not in the best mental state, without feeling that you would be bringing others down or that they would judge you. Just goes to show what great friends you are to be there for each other.
O good start, with the ‘describe each other in a word’. It was so heartening to see the genuine admiration and affection! In a world that is increasingly navel- gazing and narcissistic, these joyful, loyal, evolving and growing friendships are a true pleasure to watch.
I guess (hope?) that's the difference... we were friends far before Sorted came along, and Sorted started far before the online world turned into what it is today. Let's keep it all going!!
Is that the first still-veiled-but-relatively...straight reference we've had to Ebbers being gay? Like I totally get it's completely irrelevant to a cooking show (so I get why it just doesn't come up, and he seems to be a quite private guy in general aside from his allotment), but as a pan guy myself, it was nice to hear it said aloud without beating around the bush as much for once.
@@andrewsparkes6275 I understand where you’re coming from and don’t wish to minimise the struggle for acceptance and equality. Having followed this channel for well over a decade now, the Sorted team feel like old friends. I wouldn’t want to speculate on something so personal. Especially since they already freely share so much of themselves for our entertainment. Having said that, the Sorted community and by extension the comment section is one of the least toxic and most inclusive, welcoming places on the internet, which I believe is largely attributable to how genuinely kind and embracing the Sorted team themselves are, so I can say with reasonable certainty that you are among friends and allies here and everyone is welcome with open arms and hearts. For what it’s worth, I do hope that someday soon, we are no longer defined by any one single aspect of who we are- gender, orientation, race, faith, ethnicity and just accepted as deserving of a life of dignity and liberty. Until then🏳️🌈❤
@@rahulnarkar7634are you new to this show? Or not very attentive? A few weeks ago they talked about him being on a date with a guy. So he’s definitely been “out” on Sorted for a while now.
Izzy's authentic laugh at 34:34 cracked me up... Then Mike's authentic reply to tbe question nearly made me cry. A few times I've worried about him, as he seems to be so hard on himself. He seems such a lovely guy. 'Selfless' seems right. Glad you can all show how much you appreciate him, and each other... Loved this podcast.
Same here, there have been many times that I have been watching a video and thought, Mike is so much better than he believes himself to be. Even at the beginning of this video, when he said that if he was influencing people, he would be making the world a worse place... It's not true!
Respect for Mike for going public. Talking is great but not always easy🙏🏽👍 Creating content can be totally draining. I was a radio sports editor and presenter on Radio France International. Super fun but at the end of each show you have to think what have we got for tomorrow. It saps you.
I so much agree with Ben on his comment about some people complaining about some content. When I see those comments, that make me really angry. Your channel is free, and nobody is forced to watch your videos. And also I know that there is so much hard work included. You do it with so much passion and that clearly shows. I sometimes dont particulary like an episode (although that happens very very rarely), but I would never complain.
What I find especially bizarre is people complaining that Sorted's paid live events (which are incredibly expensive to set up) should be free "in the current economic climate". I mean... what? Entertainment is entirely optional - not a life necessity like rent or fuel - but the sense of entitlement of some people is nuts.
This actually might have been the best video you have ever put out, Certainly one of the most important ones. Would love to see more of this Format, Not just for people who enjoyed viewing it, but clearly because it felt like it was good for you all to do
37:16 what a sensitive, supportive approach to understanding why someone felt overwhelmed. Gawd! There are sooooooo many beautiful moments in this conversation! I keep having to stop, rewind, comment and then hit start again! Such an enjoyable podcast, kudos to the whole SortedTeam ❤
COMPLETELY agree. Really enjoyed this, not only the funny bits but this moment in particular was brilliant. What a lovely example of men genuinely supporting and understand each other.
I cannot love these men more! Although they’re English and I’m American, I can identify with their friendship so well. You guys have done an amazing job of translating your actual relationships with one another to the videos you produce. And, Mike, we as an audience see your hard work and appreciate you so much! Jamie, the guys described you in 3 words perfectly! ❤
I've got two questions: can you make a video one day to introduce the whole team and explain what is everyone doing? Also: if Sortedfood would stop tomorrow (for whatever reason) and you couldn't continue on other platforms, what would the core team (Ben, Mike, Jamie, Barry, Kush) do for a living?
MORE please. What kept me coming back is your obvious love for each other, your politeness towards each other and your wanting to do the right thing for each other your extended selves and us, and the infectious joy you show in each episode. Probably a lot of people know, however, I would like to know when and where you all meet.
As a longtime viewer (i was there for the grace and mamrie collabs and fridge cams) who rarely comments. I really appreciate this episode. We as fans are here for the friendship and community you've built and the core values it stand for. This felt like an old big night in episode and i loved it! Keep up the good work guys.
Best 45 mins of content I have watched, was looking to kill 5 mins before the footy started and have now missed the first 40 mins because of how engaging you 4 lads were. Love the vulnerability of the chat. I will definitely do all I can to support you guys financially off the back of hearing this conversation, something I honestly hadn’t contemplated previously, your content is better than 98% of the content I pay for on a stream service so why the hell not. Would love to see you boys explore a bit more of Australia, Sydney and Melbourne are great, but checkout the Multicultural city of Adelaide, the Bush Tucker of Central Australia, the Seafood of Queensland, Perth, Port Lincoln and/or Darwin. Please keep up the great work.
When you talk about long hours, burn-out, and stress, it honestly never comes across on screen. You always all look so relaxed and full of beans, like you've just popped in for an hour on a wednesday afternoon. Keep up the great work chaps!
Guys I never write UA-cam comments, but genuinely I’ve been watching your videos since 2014. Learned cooking, learned English and continue to be entertained by all the content that you put out. Thanks!
Just wanted to say, I’ve been following you for about 12 years… and it is still an incredible joy when you put a new video online. I love following you. We are lucky to have seen you grow, have kids and it is all so real. The episode end with the reminder for the weekend live and just know that WE KNOW that Mike did the music and sang himself. He is an absolute gem ❤ We definitely need a part 2, 3, 4… as much as you can! Absolutely loved the episode.
I've always liked Mike and this episode just made me understand why, totally open and honest. All of you keep doing what you do for my FREE pleasure :)
Thank you all for your relentless positivity. I keep coming back because you entertain, inform and nurture everyone, on the set and on the screen. I laugh, I learn and I adapt your ideas. Keep up the good work.
I would love another one of these with the 4 of you. I’m really interested in a deep dive into what each of you is responsible for within Sorted. I know some, but I’m curious and want to learn more.
I've been a bit on-and-off about watching Sorted for the last several years, but I've always loved the real friendship that you all share. It's easy to see that you really do like working and creating together. It's also wonderful to hear more about you all individually, to get a little of your vulnerability. You really are excellent at what you do, and it's a delight to see how you've progressed and grown together in both work and friendship over the years.
There's so much depth in this discussion, but it's the very first question - "Describe each other in one word" - which encapsulates so much about why Sorted Food works. Each answer makes perfect sense, and said so much, and it sets the door open for what follows. Mike's the deep one, we all knew that already, but it was a real joy to see so much depth in Ben, Jamie and especially in Barry, Thanks, boys. I'm sure it wasn't easy.
@@FTfilmif you’d watched the video you’d know that they specifically address this sort of comment. Don’t like podcasts? Don’t watch those episodes. Simple.
This is absolutely some of my favorite content I've seen from you guys in ages. i love god damn everything you do, and have been a fan for over a decade now. But these kind of conversations are what make me feel the most connected to you guys and the community. The conversations about purpose, and how you guys rely on each other and the community is fan-fucking-tastic. Please dear god more!
I feel like a strength of your channel is the sheer variety of content you make! I don't watch it all, but there's always something good to watch from you guys and I love your casual energy. The fact money isn't your sole motivator really comes across, especially in comparison to some other food UA-cam channels who got big but lost their spark afterwards
I loved hearing from you all. I echo many here that you are all wonderful, but extra cuddles to Mike for giving so much. Learning to ask for help is hard but I'm glad to see all the guys supporting each other.
Guys, thank you. ❤ I've been following you for a couple years now and your channel is the only thing I can always watch, always enjoy. It always makes me happy. You're the only channel I watch every single video of as soon as I get the notification. I've been struggling with an eating disorder and watching you guys celebrate good ingredients in a light-hearted way has helped me more than you will ever know. We will probably never meet (I live in Germany), but I see you almost as friends I get to hang out with and have a good time. You all are good people, making great content and I genuinely enjoy watching every single format. So again, thank you guys. You are making a change and your "work" is very important and appreciated.❤ ETA: Please give us more of this. I loved how raw and honest this podcast was and I could have listened for another hour (or more). Your personalities (besides your hard work) is what makes people come back for more and I truely enjoy learning more about you and your dynamic. Makes me respect you all even more.
So I hit about halfway through the video and it made me realize yall are what keep me sane. I'm a disabled veteran here in washington state. I suffer from really bad depression, amongst being a 40 year old college student and husband and dad. It is no joke when I say your a light of my week. I tried youtube but it never took off. I am glad to be part of the sorted community.
And how the discomfort isn’t in that it’s disingenuous - they truly love and admire each other - it’s just that in a lot of cultures it’s treated like something you’re doing to try to reach a means to an end and not genuine. I still feel awkward when I’m asked to give compliments on the spot, but I do what I can to routinely and regularly compliment the people in my life and just the people I see because they are all amazing people and deserve to know as such, even if it can be a bit unexpected
All of this in this video right here is exactly why I have been a fan for a number of years. You are all amazing. Thank you for everything that you all do.
I have been watching you guys religiously for the past 5-6 years, I keep refreshing UA-cam in anticipation for your videos. I just wanted to share my love for all of you guys, you seem like incredible genuine, heart felt chaps who work incredible hard. Mike I would be more than happy to offer my time for free to help you de-stress if that's what you needed. Keep up the good work. You really are making a different in mine and so many people's world.
I am hard-pressed to think of an episode that I didn't totally enjoy, haven't learned something from, or laughed out loud at, literally. You are a bright spot for my husband and I, especially when we need a break from all the difficult stuff we are bombarded with in the world. Your genuine friendships shine through and we come away feeling recharged. I particularly identified with Mike's feelings of being overwhelmed. I wanted to hug him! His candor was honest and refreshing and all of your hard work you guys do is so appreciated! Thank you, guys!
YESSSS! Please do more of these! I don't think any of us of the Sorted Community would be anything but welcoming of more leisurely, free-wheeling conversations amongst the SortedTeam. We all watch, not just for the stellar content but the lovely and clearly abiding friendships and dearly wish to be flies on the wall of the Sorted studio! Although, the idea of so many flies is quite repulsive, so perhaps, butterflies of the Sorted Community . But definitely, I can safely say, we would all want more!
for me its probable even more that I prefer the leisurely video's above all. it's also why I often enjoyed the Friday Ben or Kuch teaching Jamie or Barry a cooking techniek one on one. (Mike is operating the single camera). it is more personal. Also to creep you out with a few million flies how many maggots would that be on that studio wall as well. Just picture that. (your welcome)
@@sirBrouwer You’re right, the videos with the team just hanging out, talking and learning about food, especially the Big Night In, Made Personal , Food with friends series were definitely the videos that initially hooked me in. I keep coming back for the camaraderie and laughter as much as to learn more about food. PS: No sirBrouwer, I shall not torment my imagination, however, you are welcome to revel in your own writhing fancies, as much as you wish.
You guys and the whole team make a massive difference in so many peoples lives. I love the cooking aspect of your content, but its more the friendship you lot have that comes across. The fun you lot have together. You can tell you are all close, because the pranks and things you say to each other. The Great chemistry the team has is very evident. You guys are more like a family to each other. Sure you may argue and disagree, but all families do. But when you 4 and the rest of the crew come together, its GOLD. I watch and re-watch your stuff most days. I even made my own mayo because of you guys. 1st one tasted a little to strong of mustard. But the second batch tastes like a Hellman's mayo. i just want to thank everyone on the sorted team, on and off screen. ALL YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME.
I'm a fairly new subscriber. The first videos I saw were a few years old, and then the algorithm recommended some of your newer videos. I liked what I saw and subscribed. What intrigues me the most is that while your production values have become much more professional and seamless over the years, your interactions with each other and the audience remain fresh. I think that sense of freshness can only remain when you collectively enjoy what you are doing and enjoy working with each other. As far as commenters who complain about certain content, I think it was Jamie who echoed my sentiment: It's free. If you don't like it, don't watch it. For what it's worth, I especially enjoy when you feature products or companies that give back in meaningful ways or have production systems that are kinder to the planet. Thanks for the thoughtful work of the entire team and for this look into your relationships.
I love how you guys get so much pleasure from what you do, how wholesome you are (not the language, obviously 😱), the way you have no shred of toxic masculinity, how you can show affection for each other without reservation, and how you can express emotion without feeling awkward about it. I only discovered you a short while ago (couple of months), but I've been time travelling and have hugely enjoyed how you've all developed as people, presenters, cooks/chefs and interviewers. I haven't found a travel segment where you've visited Australia; I hope we can anticipate a visit some time.
Best one ever!! Loved the Kush one, this one was even better. I had left a comment saying something to the point of, "would love to hear more about you guys." This did NOT disappoint! Thank you.
I can honestly say that Sorted Food is my favourite UA-cam channel, because not only is it a group of mates having good wholesome fun with food, it is also educational, light-hearted and genuinely funny. As someone who suffers with mental health and weight issues, I have found this channel to be a lifesaver in more ways than I can say. I have great respect for the lads, and their team and the work they do. I would like to say a massive thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am loving the new podcast, Under the Cloche, it is great to see interesting people take about their stories and relationship with food. I really enjoyed todays episode seeing a different side of the lads was really interesting and hearing about Ebbers and Mike having an argument was fascinating, as it reminds me so much of me and my friends when we have a barny, but it usually ends with a your mum joke. I really enjoyed listening to the lads talking about the business and their friendship, I would love to hear them chat more, but also to hear from Ed and Izzy too.
Absolutely love this episode. Ive been watching since I was 18 and I'm 31 now and it's so nice hearing the background struggles of working with your friends. I worked with my partner for a year and I found it hard separating the two - I couldn't imagine doing it for as long as you guys have. Huge props to you and the team for creating everything you have over the years. Absolute loves Mike's vulnerability answering the question about thinking of leaving, and how it almost came of a shock to the others. I've had so many moments of feeling burnout and being a massive people pleaser, I've never spoke up until it was too late, and when I did my colleagues were surprised. The way he shrunk into himself though, I just want to give him a big hug! ❤❤❤
The best! Thank you for being genuine and vulnerable. You give us so much. It is truly appreciated as are you all. Please continue. The community loves it and you all!!😊
Absolutely love this episode! I really wouldn't mind if every second Under the Cloche episode from now forward, just were with you guys and The general Sorted Team... perhaps once a month, I am so fascinatedby you guys😊
I don't normally comment on any videos, but this one truly made my heart warm! Watching you guys interact in such an honest, and supportive, manner is such a true testament to the integrity of each of you as individuals, as well as this channel. So many people aspire to have friendships/connections like this and it's amazing to be able to dive into the workings of those relationships. I think the topic of Mike's near burnout is incredibly important to discuss between the lot of you, but it is also incredibly beneficial for so many viewers to see that you can experience burnout on things that you truly love and enjoy! I also kept wanting to scream to Mike that being burnt out on something doesn't mean that something is bad or that he doesn't care! I really felt like he was trying to justify/defend his experience so people wouldn't get the wrong idea, but I hope he knows that - although probably necessary because the internet is a cruel place sometimes - admitting something can become tiresome and wear you down is not a bad thing, nor does it diminish your love and appreciation for that thing. You have great friends that are truly there to support you, and us as a community are here to support you too! Keep up the great work! I hope to see more of these types of videos soon! 💜
Y’all should do a “Sorted Food Cruise”. I would love to go on one. Everyone could have a meet and greet/live QandA as well as just hanging out. It would also give everyone a chance to vacay with their families. It would also give everyone a chance to travel new or well loved locations together.
Not only do you show us how to cook, and eat well, you show us how to be a good friend, and with that, you make us all feel like we're your friends as well. That's special, and comes naturally, because you four are genuine. P.S If any of you wish to leave, you must be voted out by the community. ( Good luck with that.) ❤
I didn't anticipate how much I would love this episode. But I actually think this is my favorite Sorted video I have ever watched. Seeing you all being so real, it really helped me see you all as people, rather than just content (admittedly, amazing content I really enjoy). Thank you for being human and sharing with us.
I've been following this channel for many years and this was a really heartwarming video. This is the kind of friendships and community we all want in our lives. These boys are adorable!!! Loved what Mike said about getting beyond - "I'll be happy when" and choosing to be happy now. Keep it up!
This reminds me of why I really loved Big Night In. It wasn't just the amazing food, but everyone enjoying themselves around a table and talking casually. (That and the amazing jokes, like Jesus inventing the raising agent 😆)
Hello gentlemen - I'm a new fan (discovered Sorted maybe 3 weeks ago when it popped up in my you tube feed and I gave it a chance "Oh, that looks fun!") and I just want to thank you all, and your team/crew, for all the hard work you do for our enjoyment and education. AND, thank you for keeping it on UA-cam. I have been talking you up every chance I get. Heaps of love from Canada
One of the things I'd love to see you do with the normals is kind of the opposite of the chef skills challenge. In the CSC you had the normals trying to shore up their weak points, learn and hone new things. In the same vein as so many impressive street food stalls around the world, I'd like to see the normals each choose a strength and try to focus on that for a little while and see how far they can go when that's their sole culinary focus for a set period of time.
Yessss! Especially bc Mike can be really hard on himself during the challenges. But those are exactly that: a challenge. So it makes sense that they'd be struggling. But I would really like to see what they do really well.
Thank you for sharing. I watch you guys as soon as something new has come out and my kids know that Mom loves to sit and enjoy sorted food. I think your camaraderie that you guys have together and the way you film. It allows us as viewers mom to feel like we’re a part of that group and not only are we learning and experiencing, but also feeling like we belong and you guys do an amazing job with that.
Watched every second of this lads. I truly feel that i have grown up with you. Been a subscriber since 2010❤You guys got me through medschool! Always a lovely getaway, always there to cheer me up. Thank you for all these years! Lots of love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
You guys are truly amazing. Been watching for well over a decade, I love seeing the expansion and creativity you bring to UA-cam. Super proud and happy to learn more about each of you this episode! Cheers from Pennsylvania 🥂
I absolutely love you guys! Seeing the real you in a chat really shows how much you care for one another. This is exactly why I am a fan for life ❤ would love to see a few more episodes like this
You lads feel like the hidden gems of UA-cam...like, sure, maybe not as broad of a group of people is familiar with your work, but those of us who have been around STICK around, which is HUGE for online communities. Each of you, including every member of the team, in front of AND behind the camera, is so wholehearted and committed to quality. It shows in your work! We love you all, and are here for the ride, wherever and how long ever it goes. Hugs!!
I would be sooo happy if you could put all the podcast series you've done over the years in one place. I wish the series where Mike interviewed each and every one of you, and then got interviewed by Jamie (?) in return, were easier to find.
yeah, like in a separate podcast channel so it doesnt annoy any of the viewers who dont want to listen to it AND have it in one spot! killing two birds with one stone.
I’ve been watching for easily a decade now and getting to see glimpses into your relationship has been wonderful, but watching all of you just have a chat, or as close as one can be with cameras and mic’s, was even better. It was truly lovely to see you all be so comfortable opening up and talking to us and each other about the realities of your jobs and relationships. I’d love to see more!!
Guys, I want to extend a genuine thank you to all of you. I understand where Mike comes from, his burnout. You guys helped me through some of my darkest times, times where I thought I wouldn’t live to see the next day. To have Barry and the boys listen to Mike with empathy, that healed something in me. Thank you. I think I will survive this world thanks to you people.
As someone who watches everything, and I mean it like I said, from you when it comes out and comes back to some videos from you when feeling down I want to thank you for all the times you made me smile throughout the day. I'm following you now for like 12 years now and it was quiet a ride but the best imaginable one. These conversations you have just show once more how a banger of a team you are and how much you value everyone of you. Also I can completely understand Mike's perspective of leaving and was soo amazed how all of you handled this kind of conversation. With other people I experienced so much different approaches to burnout and it just shows once more how good of a team and friends you are. Please don't let anyone from you down in the future. Just thank you for being like you are and keep up the good work of showing us the world of food.
Thank you for this. The take away is the love, respect, honesty, openness, and understanding you have for one another. Unusual (for me at least) in a work family and in real families. I learned alot from watching this conversation. Thank you again.
How I would describe the channel to anyone who hadn't seen it is, "Five British guys who spent the last 14 years putting their fingers in each others' pickle jars with an occasional cameo from Pumpy the Cow. Oh yeah, and they cook stuff decently well, too."
You guys rock, loved this episode so much. I have been weighing up starting a street food business with one of my uni mates for a while now, this episode has given us the courage to pull the trigger on it. We see so much of ourselves in you guys and watching this episode has cemented the fact that we need to put our happiness first and do what we love to do, which is cook and make people smile. Much love boys, keep going you are an inspiration to all of us.
I ❤ this episode! Your genuine love and concern for each other (sorry-don’t want to make you uncomfortable) is heartwarming! Getting a glimpse of your true selves just makes me love Sorted even more. Please do more of this type of episode!
Well done guys. Whether you set out to achieve it or not, you have just created the best episode. Not about food, but why men should talk. Great mental health exercise.
Yes!! I got the same thing from this episode. How wonderful to see men with so much affection for one another. When Mike said Jamie was lovely, I knew we were watching something we've never seen before from these guys. Also, I've always suspected Jamie was a lovely inclusive man. The one word thing was a perfect few mins. where we learned a lot about all of them.
@@margowsky That moment reminded me of when they made Jamie's ideal meal. They asked Barry to describe him in three words and B's response was "makes me happy" bc J just gives off wonderful energy and makes an effort to make sure people are in a good head space
I don't comment very often, but I have watched Sorted for many years! Yes, please do more of this content as I see the roles each of you do in more detail and not just the fun and creative content. You guys and your team are just amazing! Thank you!!!
I think the word “deeper” for Mike is very accurate. It took me a little while to realise that he wasn’t just a handsome face and, if I’m honest, a bit of the lightweight good looking one to balance out Jamie’s fun, Ben’s seriousness and Barry’s enthusiastic every-man. Mike, to be feels like one of the drivers it’s just that he works hard at not making it seem that way. The reason this works is everybody has their role and not being able to clearly always see what that is makes the whole so much more cohesive.
This was absolutely amazing, I've been watching you guys for a decade but I feel like I learned so much more in this video. I hope you do another session, I think there are so many more questions that could be answered
This was a delight. Thank you for allowing us a peek behind the scenes. I know it can be very vulnerable to show anything of yourself with a huge audience. I would definitely enjoy any more of these that you want to do and feel comfortable with. ❤ every episode of Sorted feels like a hug to me because it’s centered around the friendship. 😊 although sometimes it’s the kind of hug where someone messes up your hair and tweaks your nose :)
I've been watching you guys for years. You have been my comfort show on UA-cam and have brought so much joy and happiness into my life. Even though i'm just one out of millions of people who have watched you guys, the hard work never goes unnoticed. I love when you guys change formats because it's always exciting to try new things. I love Under The Cloche, I think it's a raw unfiltered form of content that really helps us connect with you guys on a more personal level. Super great, loved the video. Hope for more!
Absolutely loved this episode. It was truly amazing to hear it from you 4 unleashed and acknowledging each other’s love, struggles and purpose. I would love if this talk continues further than one single episode.
i personally really appreciate alll you guys do, i found you all while recovering from major cancer surgery and you have such a beautiful light hearted family show here.. I LOVE this!! thank you all for doing all you do and even though you are creating content that you enjoy.. it brings joy to so many. i have laughed along with you, felt bad for you having to try some absolutely horrible food. Keep up the good work because you are a light in a world that is becoming increasingly dark and political.
I feel Mike is the "Bay Leaf" of Sorted. No-one knows how it works or what it does but it pulls all the other flavours together.
It was lovely to see Barry being seriously concerned with Mike’s admission. True friends are brutally honest with each other and share so much love. Your friendship of 26 years is such a gem. I hope it continues for many, many more years ❤
Who knew Baz was the 'deep' one.
You see glimpses of this from Mike on camera every so often. Looking at past Pass It On eps, he's often really hard on himself.
Really enjoying this podcast and this episode in particular . Great content, great people!
Mike fucking rocks
This comment sums it all up.
Beautifully said! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@chillynewberg2652I totally agree - I wish they’d give Mike half the airtime and attention that Jamie gets
Yes, re-do the dream menu for Mike!
@@Nino-xp5df THISSS!!! he deserved a better dream menu :,)
Aw. Loved this comment, and I think many people would resonate with it… x
I love moments like this where you guys are just sat chatting as mates
Yeah, we enjoyed this one too!!
@@SortedFood I hope that means more videos like it in the near future? 🤞
An idea - reacting to yours 1st, 10th, 100 and 1000 videos.
To see how much you changed/evolved/stayed the same? Think it could be fun.
That sounds so fun!
I love that! I miss the reaction videos you guys did!
ohhhhhhh do this! and get the employees, ALL OF THEM, blurred or not, to opinionate.
Oh I'd love to see that! 😂🎉❤
And it's very easy to go "well they want to move on and I don't want them to feel awkward so sure" but it's very inspiring for Barry to go "no sorry, can we go back to that point, we haven't really got to the bottom of why you felt like that and I want to understand it (because you're my friend and I don't want to happen again)"
SO absolute bravo
As a decade-long watcher, I would love to see more of the four guys talking about themselves. The ultimate made personal!
100% agreed
Made Personal was actually one of my favorites because of the more personalized food and the glimpses at their personal lives. Agree with needed to have their own line of privacy, but it’s nice when the share a bit of themselves too.
Definitely ❤
As a business owner putting purpose over profit, this is one of the best conversations I’ve ever heard. I’ve watched quietly for years and love this channel but to hear about it as a business and how to juggle your passion and work, needed this

So sorry for the loss of your husband and BFF. You are not alone

@@SortedFood PLEASE!!!!
WOULD LOVE THIS
This would be great
It would really be great to see and get the stories from those behind the scenes.
@@SortedFood Cheers to that!!
Until then🏳️🌈❤
Thank heavens, UA-cam has no word limit.
"i dont mean this ironically, but straight." had me cracking up, thank you
😂 perhaps Barry should’ve gone with “direct”?
Did Barry just “out” Ben? 😅
@@rahulnarkar7634are you new to this show? Or not very attentive?
A few weeks ago they talked about him being on a date with a guy.
So he’s definitely been “out” on Sorted for a while now.
@@rahulnarkar7634It's not that secret a secret 😂
@@Saluno375 It's been hinted at somewhat but I actually don't know if I've ever seen any outright statement of Ben's sexuality.
I would like this comment but it’s on 69 likes and I refuse to ruin the nice.
What I find especially bizarre is people complaining that Sorted's paid live events (which are incredibly expensive to set up) should be free "in the current economic climate". I mean... what? Entertainment is entirely optional - not a life necessity like rent or fuel - but the sense of entitlement of some people is nuts.
@@nickipedia1 I got what you mean only after a couple of minutes ;-). Nice one, could be a Benuendo :-).
Your joint friendship was what originally caught my attention. This podcast reinforced my love of watching you guys appreciate each other!
Tell us more about your specific roles! So interesting to see this side of sorted

Love the vulnerability of the chat. I will definitely do all I can to support you guys financially off the back of hearing this conversation, something I honestly hadn’t contemplated previously, your content is better than 98% of the content I pay for on a stream service so why the hell not.

They proved how deeply English they are doing their best to compliment each other.
It's uncomfortable for Americans too. I took a class where we all complimented each other in one session and everyone was so awkward!
I'm Australian and was trying to imagine this scenario with 4 Aussie males and just... couldn't.
Sorted Live: Cruise edition!
Not only do you show us how to cook, and eat well, you show us how to be a good friend, and with that, you make us all feel like we're your friends as well. That's special, and comes naturally, because you four are genuine.
P.S
If any of you wish to leave, you must be voted out by the community.
I really like this idea!
It allows us as viewers mom to feel like we’re a part of that group and not only are we learning and experiencing, but also feeling like we belong and you guys do an amazing job with that.
what were you guys like in school? Would be interesting to hear who the trouble makers were, or what your earlier jobs were like. Loved this "lock in"
Watched every second of this lads. I truly feel that i have grown up with you. Been a subscriber since 2010❤You guys got me through medschool! Always a lovely getaway, always there to cheer me up. Thank you for all these years! Lots of love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
In the nicest way this is one of the best things you have put out. Definitely want more of this!
You guys are truly amazing. Been watching for well over a decade, I love seeing the expansion and creativity you bring to UA-cam. Super proud and happy to learn more about each of you this episode! Cheers from Pennsylvania 🥂
I never comment on anything, but I did want to show support for the format, a wonderful episode that just breezed by!
I absolutely love you guys! Seeing the real you in a chat really shows how much you care for one another. This is exactly why I am a fan for life ❤ would love to see a few more episodes like this
Characterising Ebbers as "relentless" while he is casually drinking his wine.. is comedy gold! Still at the beginning, but loving this so much!!❤❤❤
You lads feel like the hidden gems of UA-cam...like, sure, maybe not as broad of a group of people is familiar with your work, but those of us who have been around STICK around, which is HUGE for online communities.
I absolutely second that
there might be a play list of them
yeah, like in a separate podcast channel so it doesnt annoy any of the viewers who dont want to listen to it AND have it in one spot! killing two birds with one stone.
LOVE this! Can't wait for James episode. And i hope Izzy, Ed, Hayley and the rest of the team that's been with you from the beginning
Under the cloche is best podcast! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉
Can we have a deep dive of Ben, like you did with Kush please!!!!
Absolutely loved this episode. It was truly amazing to hear it from you 4 unleashed and acknowledging each other’s love, struggles and purpose. I would love if this talk continues further than one single episode.
I've been DYING for this deep dive podcast ❤love the podcast series and this is my fav.
i personally really appreciate alll you guys do, i found you all while recovering from major cancer surgery and you have such a beautiful light hearted family show here..
