    One day, more than 13 years ago, I went to a local gun range. My first ever experience with firearms, me and a buddy had money to blow and they had an MP5-SD to rent. More then a decade later I'm a gun nut and that experience made me an HK fan. I carry a P2000 V3 for EDC, with a P30S V3, VP9 Tactical OR, HK45 Compact Tactical, USP Tactical, and hopefully one day a MK23 in the safe. But that first experience with that MP5 sewed seed for what has become a blossoming hobby and a love for firearms. Appreciation to you for love of real estate & firearms. (Albeit I'm on the commercial side of things)

      @@Chrisblau Thanks man, now that I think of it, that kind of is badass 😂 But it was an MP5-SD, a Beretta 92, and CZ Scorpion. I had just got my first big tax return and me and the friend I worked with wanted to shoot full auto weapons like on "Call of Duty" lol. Ignorant I know, but at 20 years old, that's what we did. When they told us we could take our ear plugs out on an indoor range with the MP5-SD, I was in love. Shooting Osama Bin Laden targets (before he got smoked by SEAL Team 6). I still have that video taken with a late 2000s cell phone camera floating around on a hard drive somewhere

    17:35 was honestly the most impressive part to me, the fact that the mic could so clearly pick up your whispering with the shots in the background is really crazy from the perspective of what guns usually do to mic levels.

    I agree with Jake on the new shooters use case. Took my daughter13 for the first time shooting ever and let her shoot a .22 rifle for about 5 rds then handed her my mp5 suppressed with subs and she hit my mini a zone steel at 50 yds and never missed! It is by far my favorite for new shooters old and young. Now a k sd would look very nice in my collection!

    The MP5SD is a very controllable subgun from the days before mass produced subsonic ammo. Extremely quiet but the velocity reduction was so extreme, you ended up with the equivalent of a .380 subgun at the end of the day. We traded all of ours in on Navy model MP5s with 3 lug suppressors running subsonic ammo. Not as Quiet, but better ballistics was worth the tradeoff.

    • @scattergun7810
      @scattergun7810 8 місяців тому

      Mrsgunsngear make video about the .380 myth on the SD, in short- its not that weak level of stopping power.The misconception is propably from depatments test SD on subsonic not supersonic rounds as a base which is not what that gun was designed.

    Apples to oranges guys . That SD has like an 80 degree locking piece while the standard has 100-120 degree locking piece angles , and that keeps the bolt cluster longer .
    You see , especially with 9mm as tinkering with AR9 and difffereny buffer weights will teach you , that tiny fraction of a second extra time the boot stays closed makes a huge difference in sound suppression , you just never realize how much comes from the port/chamber.
    Now match a slower locking piece on you mp5 or K model and retry .
    THAT, will show us which actually performs better. Until then this is just speculation.

    So in the first sound test I'm wondering if Chris is using Fiocchi 147gr. I recently got some of that and its loud in my SP5. I thought it might be the 9" barrel pushing it supersonic. But then i tried it in my Beretta 92 using the same can, a Gemtech Tundra and again it was loud. Kind of uncomfortable to the ears on both weapons. I wasnt really expecting this because my serious use ammo I keep in either one meant for suppressed shooting is Winchester 147gr Ranger standard pressure and that ammo is pretty quiet but somewhat hot. I use it in the beretta because it cycles reliably without using the booster spring and using the fixed barrel spacer instead without having to use reduced power recoil springs. Like to have Federal 9BPLE 115gr +p+ in it for non suppressor use. Plus using the fixed barrel spacer allows me to swap it between both guns without having to take it apart. The booster spring really sucks in the beretta. Throws backpressure shit right into your face since that barrel doesnt tilt down to angle that stuff down into the magazine well. Plus its louder using the booster spring. You really have to play with this stuff to get the reault you want. Ive had a lot of even premium 147gr ammo not cycle the beretta. But everything so far has cycled with the Sp5 so its not a big loss if i get ammo that isnt working in the pistol. But that fiocchi 147 is loud. Unfortunately i bought a lot of it but it was only $2 more a box than 115gr FMJ at the store i found it at. One of these MP5SD' s would be super cool to have despite the expense, extra maintenance, special internal parts and NFA paperwork hassle. Just cant justify it since i already have a SP5 and really only add the auppressor to it for fun and because i can. But usually i want it short and with the surefire handguard light combo on it. But the first MP5 i shot was a SD. My friend's stepdad has a transferable one he got in 1981 for $1600 Nib. That thing is extremely quiet and from about 10-20 ft away it does not sound anything like a suppressed firearm normally sounds. That same distance my beretta sounds like a air tool coming off the hose. That MP5 SD has this clicking sound and if its not running in full auto or burst you will have to see it to have any clue its a firearm. Cool video as always guys. Loved it.

    Do I see Dakota Tactical D54SD 9mm's? The PTR style rail mount I'm certain is the give away. An HK (especially!) or Dakota, it's a safe queen if I own one of those. The .22 just isn't in my playbook. That puts me back behind my PTR-9c with the one and only Dead Air Wolfman. Semper Fi.🇺🇲

    Man, I wish you guys would’ve ran the TP9 with subs and other guns like the MP5K with a bigger can like a wolfman compared to the SD. Sounded like a lot of your “subsonic rounds were breaking the sound barrier especially the 300 blackout. Still awesome video production though.

    MP5SD is peak 9mm sub gun, but 300 blackout is more versatile with more muzzle energy. Gun Jesus had a recent video showing this with MP5SD vs Q Honey Badger. MP5SD could do repeat close shots faster, but had a harder time reaching out to ranges where 300 blackout was more than reliable. Subs or supers, 300 blackout had more energy on target.
