You should test it with better subsonic 9mm ammo. A lot of the 147s out there are just barely subsonic and still go supersonic out of full length barrels. 150 grain Syntec ammo from federal is very slow at 890fps and extremely quiet
B&T APC9-SD compact vs H&K MP5-SDk? Integral suppressed 9mm pdw faceoff. Extra points if you use the glock mag variant for the APC9-SD and test hollowpoints performance.
The MP5SD is a very controllable subgun from the days before mass produced subsonic ammo. Extremely quiet but the velocity reduction was so extreme, you ended up with the equivalent of a .380 subgun at the end of the day. We traded all of ours in on Navy model MP5s with 3 lug suppressors running subsonic ammo. Not as Quiet, but better ballistics was worth the tradeoff.
Mrsgunsngear make video about the .380 myth on the SD, in short- its not that weak level of stopping power. The misconception is propably from depatments test SD on subsonic not supersonic rounds as a base which is not what that gun was designed.
I mean ergonomically, the MP5 is quite old and it shows. But as far as nice roller delayed recoil impulse and the ability to subsonically suppress normal bulk 124gr ammo goes, it still shines.
Apples to oranges guys . That SD has like an 80 degree locking piece while the standard has 100-120 degree locking piece angles , and that keeps the bolt cluster longer . You see , especially with 9mm as tinkering with AR9 and difffereny buffer weights will teach you , that tiny fraction of a second extra time the boot stays closed makes a huge difference in sound suppression , you just never realize how much comes from the port/chamber. Now match a slower locking piece on you mp5 or K model and retry . THAT, will show us which actually performs better. Until then this is just speculation.
Not surprised by the K results. Lots of people online sharing their experience of the K models being better suppressor platforms due to the shorter barrels. Flow through cans also seem to perform better on the K.

But then i tried it in my Beretta 92 using the same can, a Gemtech Tundra and again it was loud. Kind of uncomfortable to the ears on both weapons. I use it in the beretta because it cycles reliably without using the booster spring and using the fixed barrel spacer instead without having to use reduced power recoil springs. Like to have Federal 9BPLE 115gr +p+ in it for non suppressor use. Plus using the fixed barrel spacer allows me to swap it between both guns without having to take it apart. The booster spring really sucks in the beretta. Throws backpressure shit right into your face since that barrel doesnt tilt down to angle that stuff down into the magazine well. Plus its louder using the booster spring. You really have to play with this stuff to get the reault you want. Ive had a lot of even premium 147gr ammo not cycle the beretta. But everything so far has cycled with the Sp5 so its not a big loss if i get ammo that isnt working in the pistol. But that fiocchi 147 is loud.
