    You are a life saver. I'm self taught & I could not figure out how to attach the legs to my teddy bear. Then I found you video. Thank you so so much 🙂

    Hi! I’m currently working on a chart and i’m struggling with the part where it says “skip 5 stitches of both legs”. Could you break it down for me??

      I would have to look at the pattern to be able to provide any guidance. Maybe it wants you to create a larger gap between the legs? But I’m not sure why they would want you to do that without reading the pattern.

    How do u make the example legs

  • @shawtazz
    @shawtazz 4 роки тому

    Does that mean the joining round for the legs is a round that isn't counted?. like Im looking at so many patterns and they just say join with #chains so im assuming it's what your doing making sure to get back to the start by adding a whole round including the chains. Sorry if this was confusing

    So when I get to 3:00 and get back to the chain, do I crochet into the chains or do i skip them and crochet into the leg?

    • @pennymetzger2878
      @pennymetzger2878 3 місяці тому +2

      Yes! Once you create your chains to bridge the gap you treat them like any other stitch in your pattern and crochet into the chains. In this example the next round would be 26 SC (12 from each leg + 1 from each chain stitch).

    1:40 Does the last stitch before the chain connect also share the same stitch as the slip stitch?

    • @pennymetzger2878
      @pennymetzger2878 3 місяці тому

      I’m not sure if I fully understand your question. But it does not matter where exactly you connect the legs together. I tend to connect the right hand leg to the left hand leg near where I finished off. That way I can use the yarn tail to my advantage when closing the gap. As long as you’re not going into the same stitch twice and adding stitches it should not matter where you connect the two legs

    • @OSSLuna
      @OSSLuna 3 місяці тому

      @@pennymetzger2878 I appreciate your help, sorry let me rephrase my question! In 1:40 when u connect the legs, you mention in the video that you are going to continue crocheting around the leg until u get to the stitch before the chain connects. Will that stitch be the same one that had a slip stitch on one leg? (I hope this is a bit clearer 😅)

    • @pennymetzger2878
      @pennymetzger2878 3 місяці тому

      @@OSSLuna yes! At least it is for me. Since the slip stitch does not add any additional stitches to the round, if you start right “in front” of the slip stitch/finish off. When you crochet around the leg you will place your last stitch into the slip stitch.
      When I learned this technique I sometimes had a bit of difficulty accidentally going into the same stitch twice and creating increases. It helped me to repeatedly count my stitches. You should end up with: (X number of stitches from leg one) + (X number is stitches from leg 2) + (X number of chain stitches used to bridge the legs x2)
      Hopefully that provides some clarity!
