Very useful information. What if wiring isn't already done in ceiling?
In that case open wiring which is not advisable in residence and second option make a pattern with wooden battens to hide the wire.
Third chiseled the slab to 10- 12mm to that wire can pass then repair < that's depend upon the site condition>
Nice information. i am expecting possession of my new flat in mumbai shortly. i was researching options for lighting as i dont want false ceiling. you talked about hiding wires with 2" POP. I am thinking on similar lines and wish to hide wires by decorative wooden panels - 3-4" wide and about 2" thick drilled into ceiling over the wire. of course will carve a groove in the wood to accommodate the wire. infact i can create a geometric pattern on ceiling with these wooden panels and decorate them with T patti. How is this idea?
for me. it will look very heavy over my bed .

Which brand surface panal light to be used. How is panasonic brand? Because cost of Phillips is double than Panasonic. So can we use Panasonic? How much quality difference in both brands.

In that case you have to go with false ceiling
Can we have the holes drilled in the ceiling while installing surface lights by taking the wire connection from fan, & that wire can be concealed right in the ceiling ? Like we do it for profile lights
HOW WIRE WILL BE CONCEALED ?? YOU HAVE A GAP OF 5' TO 6' BETWEEN LIGHT & FAN
It's not recommended to make unnecessarily drills and holes in structure. It makes structure week and its life less

Directly install on the ceiling if you have a electric point at slab level. Otherwise you have to create a new point in which wiring will be visible
