Thanks for an outstanding video James, so clear and helpful. I'm getting my mechanic to change mine and all the other fluids at the same time because it's time for them to be done, Engine, Coolant, Brake fluid change etc. I'm going with a K&N Engine Oil filter because I have heard excellent things about them, the same for the main Air filter and Cabin one too. The only area I struggle with is exactly how much new Engine oil with a new filter. The handbook says nothing about it whatsoever, if you put too much in you risk damaging the seals and if not enough you risk loosing pressure etc. Thanks in advance and again great clear video and appreciate the links for the oil and also the filler tube.
Thank you @@peterrobertson1250 I am glad you enjoyed the video. It is always worrying if you got the right amount of fluids. As you know there are no ways of checking apart from draining it all and seeing what comes out of it. 🤞 so far it seems great and I feel it shifts much better since changing the fluids. I have only done one engine oil change but it is due for another and I plan to upgrade something while doing this next time. Let me know if your mechanic knows any tricks for the future for ensuring the right fluid levels. (I am not a mechanic as you might have guessed) so any help is much appreciated. Thanks again Peter!
Hey! Thank you, most are saying change it every 30k - 40k depending on driving style and some do the first change at 15k then continue with 30k intervals after. I will be doing it every 30k from now on.
I was surprised! Always worrying doing something for the first time but seems to be working a treat. I have the filler tube now so just oil and filter for the next one 👌
@@game4alaughman Hey! I still have the car and more updates are coming. I am unsure what is in the gearbox at this time as I believe the only way of checking is by draining it all. and refilling. If I find out I will let you know.
@@James.a.vickers cheers, I done the dsg oil on 2014 Octavia 2.0 tdi. Got 5L in but 0.7L came out before a got anywhere near a drip, so plugged it at that point. Thinking of doing it again & put full 5L in & that’s it. So hard to find exactly what is correct amount. On draining old oil measured only 3.7L arghhh 😳
Hello, i have two questions, the DSG only need 5 liters? And adding another DSG oil that is not the audi original it will not supose a problem for the future?
Hey SERGIY, Thanks for the comment! The factory recommends 5.2 -5.5 litres of the fluid but as you can see at the end the overflow lets a fair bit out. I was toying with the idea to put 5 litres in and then leave it however most people said that getting the oil to temperature and then letting the overflow come out was the way to do it. As you can see even with 5 litres there is still some overflow coming out so putting 6 litres in might be a waste because it overflows and gets thrown away. As for the fluid being a different brand as long as it is designed for DSG gearboxes then I don´t see a problem. Motul is a pretty big brand and respected in oil/fluids however if I come across any issues I will let you know! For now the gearbox is shifting great! if anything faster and crisper than before! Thanks again
Hey! theres 4 pinch welds underneath. the front two are behind the front wheels and the back ones are in front of the rear wheels they don't look like they would hold be they do 😂
The oil is filled up via gravity. I wasn't sure it would fill up properly but as long as the funnel is higher than the engine it is not a problem to fill up. The higher you can hold the funnel the faster the fill up should be. There is two pieces to take out, the first (main cap) then the long piece inside. The long piece is then re put in before you attach the tube and funnel so I guess this is what stops the oil from coming back out to fast when you remove the filler tube.
Thanks @enohazizaj5576 no complaints with the Motul I haven't had any experience with Pentosin. On closer inspection of the oil that I drained it did have some small parts of metal in it so we will see next time I change the oil if there is more metal or the Motul has rectified the problem. I am hoping for the latter. Let me know which one you go with!

Thank you 🙏
Is this somewhat similar to an Audi a4 tdi 2018?
Thx for the good and informative vid :)
Thanks! @cryzor it means a lot 🙏
Dear Jamez thank you! When do you believe we should change the FIRST oil in DSG transmission? And in what frequency after that?

That seemed quite simple, just had mine done by my mechanic. Good instructions 🔧

@@James.a.vickersHi please answer, Have you sold the car or done another change ?
Can you roughly say how much oil you got in the gearbox at present ?

what lifting points do you use to raise the TT on the jack stands? 😅

I have a question
When you opened the cap to drain the oil, oil came out.
So how did you fill up with oil when the cap remained open?

it's possible to know the filter code?
Hey! The MANN filter I used is HU 6002 z 👌
hey mate. what about haldex oil? you using oem?
Hey Zukacs! I havent serviced the haldex yet. I´ll do some research and get back to you.

Hi, I went with Pentosin, so far so good. Next time i'll use Motul. It wont hurt my wallet since its just 150€ for the gearbox service 👍
6 gang dsg ! No 7 gang DSG
