Pioneers Lodge: The Details
The Pioneers Victoria Falls Lodge main building has been built to resemble an old colonial-style house and is spacious and airy. It boasts an elegant lounge and a restaurant. There is also a very large terrace overlooking the Lodge garden with another cozy lounge area on one side and a bar with its sitting area on the other side. It is possible to dine inside the restaurant or outside on the terrace.
The garden is extensive and lush with manicured lawns and two sparkling swimming pools, perfect to refresh yourself on a hot day.
The rooms at Pioneers Victoria Falls Lodge are spacious, designed in an elegant classic style, and very well appointed. All rooms feature a fan, an air-conditioning unit, tea and coffee making facilities, and a safe. The ensuite bathroom is large with double basins and a shower. All rooms have a clear and open view on to the garden.
Unless you are looking for the colonial grandeur and history of the huge Victoria Falls Hotel (and are prepared to pay up for that) we would certainly recommend Pioneers as your base for exploring Victoria Falls and the surrounding area.
