- Start with loosening front sprocket, then break chain. Go on to removing rear wheel, replace front and rear sprocket and start to reassemble.

Very cool video. Thanks to people like you, people like me can work on their bikes. Your "How to remove your tank" video on the Bandit also gave me enough info (and courage) to attempt it myself for the first time. Could change my fuel lines without problem because of that. Now I know how to change the chain too!

I have a Suzuki bandit 600S 2003 cause of my age I've got the A2 licence been tinkering with cars for a few years but I was on the fence about messing with my bike until I found your videos.

Have you every toyed with changing either of the sprockets out to lower the Bandit's RPMs for highway speeds? I get around 4000 RPMs @ 65 MPH (~105 KPH). It gets annoying on longer trips.

Best sticking to original 15 front 45 rear.tried both ways.13 front 48 rear accelerated like a f1 car.but did 20mles to a gallon. Other way was to slow all round.but better mpg
What tool I would need to do the chain adjustment on my 1998 gsf bandit 600 and what socket would i need to lose the axle nut. Am picking up the bandit next week

Émile A239 please have a look at my other videos your see one on break and link the chain with a chain tool but can be easier if you a chain with quick link but I preferred a solid chain
Thank you so much for all the vids! I'm 15 and I just bought this bike as my first. Got it for about $1200. Bit of a fixer-upper but I really like that kind of stuff. I was wondering if you could tell me about the small rectangular box on top of the engine block. Because right now, there is just a hose that comes out of the side of it and it dangles around aimlessly. I think that the previous owner put aftermarket air filters on the bike because there is a separate cone-shaped filter on each carb. I was wondering if that hose originally went the air box. By the way, on my bike there is not an airbox where you change the air filters like there is on yours. I just don't know what to do about the hose. Any help would be great. Thanks!
Now the breather pipe you describe sound like you said just a redundant pipe due to the after market air filter cones. I dont know alot about the "box" on top of the engine but ill look into it and come back to you if I can find out more. In the first instance if there's no wires for the engine to use from it you can just remove or refit an air box .

So its call the Second Air Schematic from looking at it i'm not sure what it does or find much about it so cant help much there but what I can say is as it gets it air from the filtered air box you should put a small air filter on the end of the pipe if your going to keep with the cones or put an air box back in. Okay that helps. I bought the bike with a small fuel filter on the end. Should I try and find a real air filter that i can put on there or just keep the old fuel one on there and call it good?
I think I'm going to keep the cones on too. It probably give the bike more air which gives it more power too.
2:58.... it does need to be tight... torque spec is 115Nm
I dont have a compressor. I have put it gear and tried but the front just wont come loose.

@@shamalanon-time4209 This is a very common issue when it comes to fine pitch thread and large surface area of a nut or bolt. and it is supposed to be really firm on there, this is something that would make your day really bad if it came loose during a spin. And as such a good impact gun either on air or batterypowered or electric even, is definitely a good tool for the job, but a hammer on a wrench could also do the trick if you have enough access for it:)
@@mortenbakke2810 Had someone apply the back brake while on gear and used an extension pipe over the L 1/2" socket wrench. That did the trick for me GSX1250FA. For tightening, I only had Loctite Blue on hand but did use 83 ft lbs as per the manual
@@shamalanon-time4209 that does the trick too, can't remember what my manual says, but if Loctite is required I have the whole range availeable to me at work:)
And also what type of Allen key did u use to undo all the bolts/screws to remove the front faring to get into the front sprocket
If I said Allen key then just a normal one, I only had basic tools back then. If your asking size I have no idea lol. Sorry I couldn’t be much help. Thanks for watching

Dary Hell what do you mean? I replaced with same as factory tooth wise in sprockets if you changed the amount of teeth on sprocket it would change top speed or acceleration of bike.
Its geared or driven by the front wheel on a mk1 bandit

what is that tool @2:50? To remove a nut from the front sprocket (I suppose, I am sorry my English isn't that good)
ACMDE was just a ratchet not 100% now but think was a 32mm socket and if memory serves me there a locking screw first, as I said in video the nuts are on very tight, think I had in gear and wedged the wheel from turning to get loose.

ACMDE and good grease remover would do think at that time I used a product called Gunk

I have changed my rear sproket and chain but I can not get for the life of me the frount sproket lose? I have bent dousens of screwdrivers and bars yes I have taken the Alan bolt out it's that nut! I do have an air impact gun which is my next try
andrew hopper hi I do remember having a tough job getting mine undone but with plenty of force it came loose and impact gun should make easy work for you, I recall putting the bike in gear and a big wrench for leverage.

How did you get the Allen bolt off the front sprocket?
Hi, as I said it was very tight but two ways to help is one in gear can help hold it and just using a screw driver to jam the chain or sprocket in place whilst you loosen. Hope that helps and good luck.
+Chelt- Mods I tried leaving in gear a putting a metal rod between the rim.

+Chadd Maynard and that worked or are you saying it didn't work, because when I say it was tight I mean it was very very tight. As long as the issue isn't the gear turning when trying to undo then you really just need to apply more force , even shock the bolt by stamping on the Allen key if needed, be careful not damage bolt do at your own risk but things like that can work. One last thing make sure your turning the correct way. once again good luck

you should look up tork specs for the bandit .. and not just wing it like this
