Taking control of the mouse.
i have the same problem with unwanted mouse movement. I made the following change
in Mouse Pointer settings.
1. Select mouse pointer speed. - move slider all the way to the left.
This slow down the mouse dramatically. Adjust slowly towards the right a little bit.
2, Move Pointer to default button in dialog box - user choice.
3. Hide pointer while typing - user choice.
4. Show location of pointer when I click CTRL key - user choice.
These steps worked for me; they should work on any Windows platform.
The main thing is reducing mouse movement speed.

It did not work, but the strangest thing happened. I had bought a new mouse and put the receiver in the USB and brand new batteries in the mouse, but I just could not get it to work. I tried to look for a on/off button on the mouse but it does not have one. After a while I noticed that there was no red light under the mouse no matter what I pressed, so regardless of how stupid I felt doing it I went and changed the batteries with two new ones. Now it was suddenly working! So strange they all came from the same brand new package of batteries.
PS! You have my permission to use this story around the dinner table with your family or in the pub with your friends. It will be a great success!
It didn't work for me :( I had a problem where it disconnected, and I would take out the USB and put it back in. It worked for a bit then it stopped working and now my mouse has stopped working. I think my USB is the problem because my mouse is turning on. Do you think you can help me?

GUYS I FOUND THE SOLUTION (turns out with me atleast,) we accidentally either put it in the wrong way or it was in the wrong usb jack :/

thank you it worked, my extenal mouse stoped working for some reason, so I uninstalled the "HID compliant mouse" with the location: "on USB Input Device"
after the restart my windows 11 laptop the mouse is working again.

My mouse is not detected by the system, only the RGBs are working when I plug it. I don't think it should be a problem with my USB ports as the RGBs are working fine.
Could it be that there are some internal problems withe mouse?
This is happening right now as I typing ...you do find the solution ? Also I found out that there is an error in device manager, it shows " unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed) " wonder what is it.

Hey, did you fix it? I'm having the rame problem right now and no one talks about it, it happen for me with every mouse i change wirless or not.
I Know most of people still doesnt work for it because driver update cant fix it. Many of them still have tried adding tape in usb, but still feels lagging. (The most common way is to fix this by just cleaning the below part of mouse where light comes with a tissue, cotton or ear bud cleaner). And this will 100percent work. If not place your mouse under a good surface with no dirt

Okay Please make sure that you have paired the wireless device. If it comes with receiver its fine else you need to add and pair the device. Try the same on a different pc if possible. 👍

Can someone please help me I turned off my pc so many times and it's not working My laptop won't respond to my cursor nor my keyboard and it's on the starting screen I can't even put in my password The only thing it seems to respond to is the power button
This technique works for a short time. When I click on a Word document or a link on my browser the mouse freezes. I’ve tried this multiple times.
Okay
Click the Start button and in the search bar, type: CMD.
Right-click CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator.
Click Yes on the User Account Control (UAC) prompt that appears.
Once the blinking cursor appears, type: SFC /scannow
And restart then run
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command with the same process.
It will repair all the windows files

Try copy and paste it there
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
@@EasyTechGeek Thanks for your assistance. The cursor is still freezing exactly 20-seconds after I first move the cursor around the screen. I’m just going to stop using the mouse and switch over to the trackpad which works fine. I called Microsoft, but there was a wait of several hours before I could talk to a service assistant. I’ll just use my MacBook Pro for the work I have to complete.
You may create a new user account later and see if its working fine or not. If still issues upgrade to Windows 11. Else mac is always a better option 👍

When it got to the device management page, my mouse started moving and when it gets to the pin page to login, I have no idea what’s going on, but in any other thing is just stuck in the middle glitching kind of you can kind of see it move, but once you get your hand off the mouse, it doesn’t move
