Even salaried class needs relief. I myself fall in 30% tax bracket and it is so painful to pay so much tax and no get anything in return. All this money goes in freebees, welfare of peacefuls. Neither I can send my kids to govt school nor visit govt hospitals. On top of this GST and road toll tax. This is a bad budget for people like me. I have always been a supporter of BJP and Modi. But since last few months Modiji se moh bhang ho gaya hai because of his policies.

I’m a huge admirer of Dr. Ankit’s take on geoeconomics. However, I found his take on current budget for income tax so poor. Sometime I feel he is living in a bubble of self confidence and that is disturbing. It’s been more than 10 years of the current govt. and the tax payers, especially the middle class tax payers, are still bearing the burden without any benefit. When I’m saying “without any benefit” I mean what we as taxpayers are getting in return in reality. Now I’ve started realising that all his sessions are theoretical and far far away from the reality. I might not be able to see the larger perspective here, but I think that is the problem with the current government that they take the tax payers as granted. This is such disheartening and disappointing.

Same talks every time. This new tax regime has come to push people towards consumption more. The government is killing the saving habits. Either spend the spare money on personal consumption or put the money into the stock market. The money put into markets will support the companies and startups, and out of this thing government will earn their cut thru STT, LTCG, STCG.
Government hates retailer's involvement into stock market. SEBI is clearly hinting out to come with new regulations about short term investment
Even if Salaried class as percentage are very small proportion in the larger population, it still is huge in terms of sheer numbers. This budget may propel many into moonlighting, illegal transactions and corruption may increase through dubious methods. Govt. has to rethink and adopt a fine line between encouraging entrepreneurship and relaxing tax rates for salaried class. Otherwise consumer spending may nosedive in a massive way and can hurt economic growth.
05:34 govt only talks about budgetary allocations for infrastructure, defense etc. But they do not seem to want to set any targets for more efficient utilisation of yearly budget. For example budget allocation in a certain sector might go up by 15% but they never declare any targets for efficiency improvements. This seems opaque and business as usual

The way you said that salaried class is minimal reflects that they don’t matter and insignificant. Do you mean that this class has no role in nation building. Ankit Shah ji can speak like that but at least sir it is not expected a person who has put in more than three decades service at the highest level of bureaucracy. This service class also play important and crucial role in the governance in the execution of government policies in defending the borders of the country in the maintenance of peace and internal security. Dr Ankit Shah is wrong about taxation. The F&O profits are taxed differently from stock investments. F&O come under business income which is taxed as per your income tax slab. stock investments are taxed under capital gains and tax for this section has increased.
Government has dont nothing but lip-service on F&O and taxed capital gains which is mostly used for building retirement corpus or for large expenses (like house and marriage).
Regarding Gold import tax reduction, which SD and shah are praising as money saving, was scamming investors who trusted government to offer better returns than buying physical gold. This is a scam which should be taken to court. FM needs to be behind bars for this action.

@@dlavanya1 Stock market gains encourage stock market investment which creates capital for companies to expand, which generates jobs and technological improvement. Stock investments also carry risk, which is why governments need to encourage investing.
STCG is 40% in the US, and long term gains are 20%. Sitting out here, the numbers seem very nice in India right now.
If i invest in someone else's business aka buying stock and make 2x of my capital, Here he's suggesting to stop it and influx your capital into next gen entrepreneurship ? Does he know success rate of start up is only 5% 😅😂 and that too in India with such a horrible condition of ease of doing business. Better to make money in stock market and leave India for Singapore, Dubai.
entire tier 2 and tier 3 is mostly in self employment. Jobbers are tiny percentage of total population.
