Jeffrey is the bad guy in the story and he's an despicable , devious, faking, horrible and insidious boyfriend / villain for doing something very unholy . I hope that he'll hold himself accountable for what he did to Kat. The moral lesson of the story is Don't fall in love with Kat's ex fiance Jeffrey . . . Go date a very nice gentleman like Nick , Edward and Woody.
"I forgave her when I thought it was just some random bloke" What was there to forgive at that point? The fact she dated someone else before you? Does this imply he expected his wife to be a virgin or something?
He also says he knew she was seeing someone else when they started dating. He forgave her for someone he didn't know, but his best friend was the part he struggled with.
