Sometimes I think about buying Brood War and trying ladder for the first time in like 10+ years, and these videos cure that of me so quickly lol
I did that when remastered came out. Was not a good experience.
You can't even really play since as a noob you have no idea what the maps look like. The fog of war is just black at the start of every game and there's no in-game way to see the ladder maps. Ya gotta go to liquipedia and have a look there.
Basically while I stumble around finding my nat and third I'm already way behind and any amount of units kills me 😆

@@Broockle When creating skirmish you can click on map to enlarge it.. Check your nat and chokes.

What alwys amazes me is the dichotomy between Artosis the caster and Artosis the player. Artosis the caster is a professional, calm, rational, kind - a reasonable, kind human being. Artosis the player is the nerd rage incarnate lol. He doesnt even try to look objectively at things that happen, he is the best and the world is arrayed against him, and he will surely someday implode with nerd rage :). When i first saw a video of Artosis playing Broodwar and going crazy, I knew him only from his Sc2 casting. I sh*t you not, I tought maybe its a deep fake , it was such a difference for me. Its truly amazing, i think psychologists could make a few doctorates out of this:)
It's Munchhausen by proxy, Artosis is a closeted Protoss player and he KNOWS how much better he would micro their units to get even more value out of them but his primary character, Terran Foreign Flash keeps chastising this suppressed layer/personality for having the desire to play the fun race.
This leads to a vicious cycle of selfloathing and Protoss hate which leads to underestimating the insight of the actual Protoss players he is up against and overestimating his ability to not spend money on a marine if he has a supply depot lined up to build but less than 150 minerals at that time.
Also he keeps forgetting somehow that this is a 26 year old game without balance patches and has to keep readjusting to the idea of a late game spell being a potential game ender.
In the lore the terrans are supposed to be the weakest compared to the Zerg and Protoss so it follows that they must have to work very hard to win.
They're also divided and every Terran tries to screw one another over.
In SC2 with the new Confederacy the Terrans are actually doing great smhw. Just Mengsk retreats all his forces to Korhal all the time cause he's so paranoid and lets all the fringe worlds go to shit.
Not really.. Terran usually beats Zerg but usually loses to Protoss and Protoss actually loses more to Zerg so….

Zerg can't deal with midgame Terran firepower, Terran can't deal with Protoss unpredictability and tankiness, Protoss can't deal with hydra busts. :P
It's funny how the roles of Terran and Zerg are completely reversed in SC2.
There Terran does all the harassment with Hellions, MineDrops, MarineDrops, Libs, and Zerg needs to preserve as many drones as possible to get into the early mid-game to punch back.
I imagine being a Terran in BW is kinda like that, ya just gotta keep it together until you can retaliate and Zerg really needs that Darkswarm and Lurkers to stay alive against Terran's murder push.

What was with the SCVs chasing Goons play? Do they block them or deal bonus damage or sth? (I don't play this game lol.)
Goons deal half DMG to Scvs which have 60 health so 6 attacks from a dragoon. Scvs deal DMG at .25 attack speed where the probe and drone attack at .36 attack speed slightly slower also only can tank (probe)3 and 5(drone) shots vs a dragoon.

@abstractdaddy1384 it isnt bad, it just that artosis most of times is, for example sieging on mines and not taking 3rd after a lifetime, sitting in his base while enemy expands.

I know nothing about SCBW really but it does feel like Artosis doesn't leave his comfort zone at all, and his timings are so precise that chaos can easily ensue.
His first marine he builds needs to be canceled unless he sees a probe scout, or his 1 bunker defense on his nat while dragoons can just walk past. They are all razer thin margins, and then he gets mad when any of his plans get disrupted which is just guaranteed to happen a few times every game.

He takes his 3rd at normal times for Terrans in the appropriate matchups. This is one of the problems of "normies" criticizing or judging him. They just have no idea what they're talking about.
As far as sieging on mines, not spreading tanks enough, etc., the simple answer is, it's a hard game. Even someone as good as him messes those things up.

At the level he's playing at the timings have to be that precise. To a casual viewer a delay of 5 seconds on a building, an extra 100 minerals on a bunker, or an extra couple marines is trivial, not even noticeable. But they actually make a big difference.
Tiny little hiccups early in the game have massive down stream effects later. People will watch a 20+ minute TvP of his and say he lost because at the end he was on 3 bases while the toss was on 6. But they don't realize the game got to that point because early zealot pressure killed a couple scvs.

Artosis you not using terran to there full capabilities is the problem, its not zerg. You don't even use Nukes.... ghosts and wraiths together in the mix of a build can be a problem. You have to play zerg as if your playing protoss a bit.
Try using vultures late game against zerg. Vultures tanks and firebats.
