  • Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) Course is an eight-week, 320-hour, course mandated by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council. BCSOT is a blended learning program consisting of on-campus instruction as well as virtual, computer-based instruction.
Our blended learning program combines the best of two training environments-traditional face-to-face classroom training and multimedia eLearning. Without the limitations of a classroom or all-online courses, blended learning utilizes a variety of methodologies so the content can be customized to the learners and optimized for the subject matter.
Cadets are provided a unique basic training experience. They are afforded the opportunity to spend three of the eight weeks completing independent online training courses virtually. This blended learning model allows the opportunity to balance work and personal life while earning the CSO certification.
The Training Division offers the most up-to-date and specialized training programs designed to improve the individual’s level of awareness; increase an individual’s skill in one or more areas of expertise; increase an individual’s motivation to perform their job well, and increase overall productivity and performance.
With a focus on developing training that remains at the forefront of public safety trends and best practices, we offer top-notch courses for personnel at all levels. Our team of instructors consistently evaluates the training programs ensuring our staff is prepared to respond to the current and future demands for service. We provide enhanced methods of delivery through in-person, online training, and blended learning. Our interactive multimedia training courses are designed to increase student engagement and allow students the opportunity to learn theoretical knowledge prior to applying the “hands-on” application of skills.
