Hi, Artem! Dashboard is very cool.
Just a tip - always put carpet under the wheel. especially with aluminum wheels. keeps them from sliding around on you.
You seem like a chill dude my guy seen you at the port and that truck is bad ass!
Thanks come up say hi next time!! Lol
@@CustomRigs yeah I will think I follow you on IG.
Been wanting to haul containers since i got into the industry. finally got my year and hoping to jump into that gig soon.
Leased on to a couple of carriers here in Seattle man so done with the port going to do tanks for a bit get my Authority n try run ports then
Definitely have nice ride.. looks sweet rollin up an down the 5.. seen ya lots times
Pam cooking spray or there's cheapest equivalent works great also you always mount the tire valve stem side up so your not smashing in to the concrete
love the truck. i gotta learn how to change my own tires
Good on you changing those tires.
Wow you guy are just living it up
Damn man I'm trying to read that paper but you move it so frickin much! 😂🤣😂
Pause the video lol
I love the kw900 n the t660 bro both trucks are badasssss
I replace tires , here in troutdale or.
200 bucks for all eight tires. Very quick service too. Oil change is our speciality also
2670 nw graham circle troutdale or.
That 660 is 🔥 bro!
That's a good looking truck!
I'm digging that dashboard 😃👍🏿👌🏿
Same dude. This guy has like 30 gauges lol it's pretty pretty
Nice video good advice 👍,
..Put a big piece of cardboard on the pavement when changing tires so you don't scratch up the rims...
Great idea.. They can use some buffing after this tire change lol
Beautiful rig.
Yes I agree with you local pays good and sometimes even more and the said part is, it’s the same pay for OTR
Good looking truck and dash
That really makes me wanna go for a day cab for sale. I been seeing it everyday I drive by it on the way to the company I work local for as a company driver. Very nice truck there you mentioned about your air ride system a couple of times in this video. What was it that you did that was custom?
That's decent. I know an O/O that was doing container in 2013 they were only getting $1.13 p/m for one particular lane, that would take a day to do.
Yeah we still have those kind of companies that lease on owner operators like XPO, pacific cascade that pay ridiculously cheap. As low as $1 a mile on 300 mile trips
@@CustomRigs I worked for xpo pulling containers and u are right , no matter how is the market u get paid same rate . Im with ladstar and it's a whole different story pulling vans
@@CustomRigs I'm on-boarding with XPO right now. I never pulled containers before. Should I go with another company?
@@johnboggs8765 Did you ever start with XPO. How was it? Cheap as people say?
Living next door to this guy would just be awesome
Honestly depends on your dispatcher, I’ve had two drivers from another terminal I’m cool with in downtown LA talk to a lot when I run a set down there after my P&D route they both left to run containers under their own authority didn’t work out and came back to XPO
Pliers are good to use as well
My neighbors called hoa on me for working on my truck at home. Consider yourself blessed to have good neighbors.
Yeah I’ve been lucky to take my truck home sometimes but I live in Hoa community. So I do most work on my truck at my in laws house lol
Rule # 1 ....never buy a home in HOA area
@@vroor32 Yep they suck. The house I live in is across the street from A HOA community. I am not interested in having my neighbors in my business.
My taxes are already too high without going through expense of upgrading the neighborhood to a high tax rate.
My house is a dwelling not an investment.
Working on machinery is so honorable I can't believe they called on you
Time to go work for port hauling containers
I hear in Cleveland they have allot of containers Iv been thinking about doing it with a dually or something.
Pretty cool rig.
what a crazy wheelbase man
I work sea/tac ports also and I see you all the time. Love the truck man. I'm a company driver now but definitely wanna get my own someday. I've been wondering what you guys make on the local runs, had no idea it was that much. Makes me wanna buy a truck tomorrow lol. I've only been driving a little over a year so I might stick it out for awhile and do my homework on becoming an o/o. Which companies do you think are the best to lease on to?
Some good local companies to lease on to around here are Hud, cmi also goes by carnage now, cgr transport. All these guys cover most of your insurance costs they will just charge you a $50-100 a month bobtail insurance.
@@CustomRigs sounds like a good deal. I hope the truck market cools down soon, I can’t find anything decent for a reasonable price. Do you plan on expanding and buying more trucks or do you like being a one man operation?
@@CustomRigs which company are you leased onto currently? im based out of seattle area also & looking to get into this once i purchase a semi, am already a owner operator currently.
@@rcpilot451 I’m not leased to, I have own authority been working with many different brokers over the last few years.
@@CustomRigs where do you find brokers that do port containers?
Frey tube lube Makes the job a lot easier seals the tires easy air up
my dad hauls to the ports of Seattle/tacoma. There at the WT, Matson, T18. he makes pretty good money doing it.
Beautiful rig man, what year and model is it?

company flatbed local driver i'm thinking about going containers maybe own my own one day seems like good work no strapping chaining ports can be pain in tha ass tho
Man that is a nice truck!
Man great content . 3 months into ports right now in California , did you have to a certain amount of experience before you leased on to someone else’s MCNumber as OWner operator ?
I was a driver for 6 months, than leased on to a company for another 6 months with my own truck and than able to get my own insurance, Mc and authority to work with brokers/ dispatchers after about a year.
@@CustomRigs Thanks for the information. Definitely the path I'm on here in the mid west. I'm just looking for a decent priced truck. Would you recommend a day cab or sleeper to pull containers? Or does it matter? Thanks for your insight or anyone else who may have some insight
I do the same thing New York and New Jersey
I have a question for you what would you charge to transport 2- 20 foot shipping containers combine grocery Weight around 24K from New Jersey to California 2905 miles appreciate any feedback.
Does your dispatcher also do Southern California, that's where I'm at. I wouldn't mind doing container loads 👍
So do you Bob tail back to the port from where it goes
How do I find containers load with my own numbers?
I'm owner opereitor.. and I love.. where I can find a dispatch for containers.. I drive for one company but is not working for me
I also noticed you only have 4 axles on your truck, My dad has a 4 axle truck and has his own chassis with 5 axles. Im not entirely sure, but I know for a fact a driver can make more money if they do not use the companies trailer chassis and also has a drop axle for 105,000 Dot approved weight? anyways thanks for the video man, hope to see you around sometime when I start the gig!
Hello, great video as an owner operator how hard is to make 10K a months after insurance, expenses and fuel? I mean doing port work locally just like you. How many hours a day do you usually work? thank you.
Why do you run such a long wheel base ? Is there an advantage to it ? I have also found that lubricant is the key to so many things.
it’s smoother, and was the only truck for a good price when I found it. Was perfect when I needed to run a drop axle on it. Now just for the looks
Im stretched and im flatbed. Spread axle on the trailer. You get used to it. Rare but we slide the 5th up on tight backs
I pull containers on the east coast, I'm still debating on doing that air ride on my truck
Am in Baltimore and New to port work. If you don't mind helping me out with some details
Hey I am planing to do port I’m new and I live in Portland or with this hard time of gas expense do you think still worth it?
Use 2 crow bars next time to install tires alot easier
IF my 4 banger SUV tire costs $120 and my big SUV is $200. How many trips does it cost take for one semi tire + road side tire service? $500 for the tire? Labor?
I would say one tire would eat one day's work. The state got paid. The insurance company got paid. The loan sharks got paid The petroleum company got paid. You got the bills.
If you net $100,000 per year you are doing pretty good. More than is excellent. You most likely are putting in lot of wear on the truck seat to make more than $100,000.
These tires I paid roughly $250 a tire they are China tires. $2k for all 8. They will easily last me 3-4 years
I'm sure those neighbors love the truck tire shop in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
you got one beautiful t660 question about your pipes are they connected to the exaust i got me a 08 t660 wanted to install 7' streight pipes
They way the engine sounded when he took off after the tire change, sounds like he doesn’t have it connected, I may be wrong though,
Yes they are with a Y-pipe
I’d rather pay someone to replace them but that’s just me. I’ll do most other repairs myself. I think a friend payed like 250-300 to have a mobile tire guy go to the truck yard to replace all the drives. Seems like a hassle to do tires.
Once you get the hang of it it’s a piece of cake
How do you get container local or regional runs with own authority??
I live In WA Bro, but been trucking with Schneider. I want to go O/O but I'm broke 🤣.
Business credit. Credit is King… keep trucking!
Do not listen to this fool telling you to use credit. Do not go in debt.
im leased on with a company. i can do two a day and make a 1000 a day, about 1000 in fuel per week. im in atlanta ga
Do a video on how you use starting fluid to blow up tire
what’s your average take home a week?
What's the average pay per mile gross?
40'er HC to a 20'er
I'm buying a 40' Gooseneck full tilt to start hauling Containers from California to Arizona, Utah and Texas....
Was wondering what average current rate is to move them?
I want to make sure I'm paid fairly...
I've put all my chips on the table for this....
TIA!

🤠👍
We’ll we always haul loaded one way and back empty.. always back to same starting location. I do local local so the rates are different. A 150 mile run can be paying $4 a mile while a 15 mile local run can pay $500..
What's your wheel base?
I’m hauling super b’s air bags are at 75 psi
That’s not bad pay bro I run Reefer here in OR and WA only last 5 years and love it I see you all the time on the I-5 looking good 👍 I offload at that Fred Meyer often maybe I’ll run in to you one day
Oh that’s sick! What kind of truck do you drive so I know
I drive a T-600 white with a sped axle Reefer
I move container to tacoma, seatle from tri cities. 500 miles round trip. It is really fine to work local, but the ports are crazy. I'm thinking of moving to the reefer or dry van, there's good money too! And you do not have to endure the daily hours lost because of the port. I also see them in the 90 in the reefer and when I put diesel in wapato! And it's nice!
Do you get your loads through a broker?
I do local on my Peterbilt 389 and ppl tell me can you afford it little do they know I’m marking the same as them staying local and home every day
Exactly!! Local is awesome!
containers here in central nashville gross $3500/wk which sucks
i run flatbed now but looking for local
Containers in the St. Louis pay the same. $3500 gross.. this is sad everyone knows that all freight pays top dollar from the shippers. The brokers and the trucking companies cut the drivers out of a lot of money. Nothing but greed.
@@BK-vu7rq yes sir
flatbed OTR isnt bad at all right now. i just hope rates stay up and go up more since fuel prices are crazy now as well as lack of parts and increased labor prices for maintenance as well as outrageous equipment prices
soon we will need $5/mile to keep running
More like $6 or $7 a mile😂😂 to keep up with all this inflation

What company you working for ? That’s not bad for local
The only problem I have with that area is Traffic
Say, they let you park in your neighborhood? There's no city ordinance against it? Or neighbors trying to stop you from parking at home?
There is no trucks allowed.. but we gotta do what we gotta do when it’s time to fix our trucks.. we don’t have any decent shops left in our area. There’s one but our trucks would be standing there for weeks.
Красавчик ! 👍
I wouldn't call those numbers great especially if you take pride in your truck because that where in tear on those loads it's substantially more.
At the same time your rpm isn't bad at all, I'm just not one for that type of Work.
This week I only did 1800 miles and I grossed 7.4K
I was doing short loads which is not my normal thing so I probably got a little lucky this week, and that includes today's load that delivers Sunday night/Monday morning
That’s really good! Most we pull is around 5k gross for a Mon-Fri week and roughly only 500 total weekly local miles.
@@CustomRigs this is the better option. Make good money see your family and enjoy your toys. Vs working away making more and enjoying less. We got one life to live. I’m try this in my area for sure.

@@davidguerra9896 15hrs a day?
I live in Seattle Washington does anyone know a good place to buy a truck for first time guy ?
Im trying do intermodal what the average take home
Do you get pay per mile? How is your pay is determined per load? Example: 70/30 split?
flat rate per load, per miles would not be worth it for local work.
Good video!! Local is good especially if your truck is paid for!!! Can make a killing to go 300 miles round trip!!! Even better with a same day drop off back haul!!!! I disagree with U recommending leasing on or getting a dispatcher!!!! Y pay someone to do what U can do yourself??? The key is to keep your over head low and save as much money as you can by doing as much as U can without having to pay someone else to it!!!!
With containers it’s a bit harder our brokers are dispatchers at the same time. We don’t have load boards. If I had my own refer or dry van that’s a different story. I leased on to a carrier for 6 months because No insurance took me at 21. Having my own authority is a lot Better now I agree.
@@CustomRigs Facts!!! Well figure out whats moving in your area the best 24/7 365 and get whatever equipment U need for that and you'll be good U already good so ride it until the wheels fall off lol but U can never go wrong with a dry van to me especially in my area!!!!
@@oliverjohnson696 yep will Definetly try out dry van once I’m tired of these containers and the ports lol
@@CustomRigs you won't regret it. U can do what U want when you want the freedom is great you'll see!!
@@CustomRigs how does having your own authority effect the rates? I'm ready to lease on with XPO and run under their authority until I get my feet wet. Then I was thinking I'd get my own authority and and get my SCAC. Then register with e-modal.

What company are the dispatchers using to pull containers??
Most of my dispatchers all have their own accounts, customers and brokerage licenses. It’s not worth it for me for one truck to sign up with the ports pay the extra insurance just to work with customer directly.
Chicago local container pays 500$ trip.. been considering it.
That’s a really good rate. I get $500 local loads here in the busy time. $350-400 on average for the bigger customers who have larger volume of containers.
@@CustomRigs Can you do 3 local trips a day er mostly 2

@@CustomRigs I've been trucking for 17 years I got a 389 Pete. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and there are a ton of containers around here. I've thought about it but I've never made the move. About a year ago I called a company for shits and giggles to hear what they had to say. Yeah it was like $1.50 a mile or something ridiculous. I've been a local driver most of the 17 years I love being home every night. I swear some times I think I work harder local than when I was running the road. I've been thinking about getting my own authority myself. If I could get linked up with some good brokers for containers like you did I'd be all over it.
FMCSA has your answer
I'm a little confused here,
If they pay that well why are 90% of those container hauling trucks pieces of shit rolling down the road?
I mean they can't even use the good duct tape to hold their mirrors together, they got that dollar store brand stuff on the truck.
And I run the same area that that truck does so it's not a North vs south.
As a matter of fact I just came out of the Seattle area yesterday and I lost count of the number of "3 color" trucks pulling containers.
And for the love of God with that kind of pay you think they'd have some type of engine in there that can pull a bit of a hill.
Lol yep I agree but like I said it depends who you work with.. most of those guys with broken trucks are savanah and GSC guys with yellow chassis that do rail road containers and it pays extremely cheap. I believe about $70 a run from Seattle just down the street. They basically rarely ever even leave Seattle.
@@CustomRigs I'm going to have to keep a lookout for that chassis color...God knows it gives me something to do while sitting in traffic.
