Oh my god this episode had me so sad for her. It seemed like she died thinking it was in vain. But that 1 minute made all the difference, I was so thankful for her. She saved everyone.
Yeah, if not for that time rewind: -Grey, Lucy, Makao & the other old guy, Laxus (probably) would be dead. And since Lucy would die, it would probably mean Eclipse wouldn't be stopped, unless someone would brake it by a mistake (like a falling dragon).
I just want to say that Ultear's development as a character is phenomenal. One of the saddest stories ever. And one of the saddest ending of these stories. And this music in the background of her words? I cry at this moment every time. And when there will also be a moment with the wagon ....... that the mother, that the daughter died, saving Gray. I'm crying.
it may seem like very little, but her magic power and life time being able to bring back a whole minute for the entire planet (if not universe), it's actually an incredible achievment. Respect to Ultear.
This episode was an absolute slayer. Like, we probably lost half the characters. Laxus, Wendy, Cobra, Gajeel, Gray, Macao, Bacchus, Jet, Droy, Lucy, Sting and who knows who else. Ultear may think she couldn't save anyone but she literally saved everyone. What an icon!
@@shravankumar-yh9tm No, they saw the future too. The thing is, they actually killed their opponents so I guess it was super weird to see them alive again haha and in their confusion, our guys counter stroke and evaded death 💅🏻
15:32 she wasn't brainwashed, unless you mean she brainwashed herself xD She just misunderstood a single moment in her life (the part where she saw Ur having fun with Grey & Lyon, so she thought Ur doesn't care about her), which made her live the wrong way. Her life is a misunderstanding.
I still remember when i read the manga i cried..and then I cried again way harder after watching the anime... It literally upsets me that Ultear's life only one minute worthy..and the worse part is, she died regretfully thinking that she couldn't save a single life in that "one minute" but to be fact, she saved many lives especially those who will save the world in the future... She's my Fav side character in Fairy Tail since this episode and no one will make me change my mind.... She's really one of the powerful character in this series, how she controlled Jellal in shadow that made him did a lot of works on her behalf, she is the strongest wizard in Grimoire Heart dark guild, she possesses such a powerful and unique magic (time magic)..she also able to cast a time magic spell that can rewind the time of the entire world that surely takes a lot of magic and not everyone can do that
I mean she just turned back time one minute for every human on earth. That's actually a lot. And it was the deciding minute for their survival. Everyone would have died to Future rogue and his dragons, had she not done this.
Ultear’s sacrifice was like a Deja-vu. It’s funny to imagine that anytime we get those “this has happened before” moments, it could be an Ultear out there who sacrificed her life for it
In episode 200 you will understand what happened to her, if she is alive or not. I love this last episodes of the grand magic games because Ultear is definitely one of the most well made characters of Fairy Tail anime.
@@ElectricShark446 It was explained that more she uses her magic, more faster she becomes old. So even when she simply grow up the tree in Tenrou Island, it probably took days of her life, so she was using the whole time a very dangerous spell. Last Ages was a gigantic spell whicg had to do with the whole world, so it was needed almost all the life of Ultear in order to use this lost spell.
I'd just think of it as if her time is divided into all of the people that should've died that same minute. Given that she didn't only save Gray, or the people in the continent but the whole world. Who knows how many lives she saved by that minute. She intended to turn back time to save as many lives as possible so I guess that's why it's just for a minute. Or also on how large the area of effect cause she turned back the time not just for the certain area but the whole world. That's just my guesses though.
1 sec of time = 1 years of her life. So she basically went back in time for only 1 minute ( 60 seconds ) and took 60 years. Knowing that she was in her twenties, she's supposed to be 80 yo
This. Especially in Fairy Tail. She sacrificed herself still thinking she's evil and thinking her sacrifice didn't help anyone. And the worst thing, no one knows about her sacrifice except, well, that would be a spoiler. They did her dirty. :(
I wonder if the spell would always affect the whole world or if it'd be possible to just mark a certain area like when she reversed time on the temple early in the show. Maybe thats how they managed to write it down, or back then there were less life or something like this and thus reducing the needed magic. But apart from that loved this scene as always :)
Can anyone help me analyze Ultear's struggle in this episode? Was it that she was constantly shaming herself due to her past sins? Or was she actually struggling to do the right thing here?
Both she was struggling with her past decisions feeling she couldn't do the right things always. She had a great desire to kill Present day Rouge just because he would have changed. She Recognized the darkness was still inside her. That was her struggle.
@@can-i-go-now So you're saying during the past 7 years, Ultear's inner bloodlust wasn't challenged until she realized killing Rouge could change history?
@@cordovanhobbyist895 Don't think she has blood lust. Just like 90% of us would go back in time to kill Hitler like the guys mentioned, she was willing to kill one guy to save the world. Actually I even think Natsu was in the wrong here. If he had gotten his way, half of his friends would have died. Yes, present Rogue wasn't evil yet and probably future Rogue wasn't evil too (was trying to kill Acnologia at all cost to stop him from wiping out half the world), but that doesn't change the fact that Ultear had to sacrifice herself to save everyone, including Rogue. Killing Rogue would have been a much easier way. If it's the morally right way, that's another discussion, similar to going back in time to kill Hitler to save millions of people. But yeah, this for me shows that not every "friendly" Natsu choice is the right one. They all would have died here just to save present day Rogue. But as always in Shonen, plot armor trumps all and makes it seem like everyone can be nice and friendly with each other without getting hurt.

One of the greatest sacrifice happening in Fairy Tail....I wanna see more of Ultear but truly sad for her now
yeah for now hehe

I mean, she didn't actually d*e, she just aged severely and became a pensioner. The spell takes your time, NOT your life.
She didn't die. She just became an old woman.
Ultear was definitely one of the most well-written character in Fairy Tail 😭😭 I just love her 🥺
she is like her mother sacrificing her life for others
When they show her later old I cried like a baby..
Nah she is not well-written I still hate her forever.🔥🔥🤪🤬
That cancer joke about the time reverse 😂😂😂😂 bro had me weeping😂
1 Minute can be enough to change the outcome of everything
One minute ( 60 seconds) = so she basically lost 60 years of her life
This episode is what makes this arc go from a 9/10 to a 10/10 for me, I absolutely love Ultear's character arc!
Ultear MVP.

Actually for this episode, it hit different if you watch the opening first. Atleast for me. Its always get me hyped when I see the clock in the OP

ULTEAR BEST GIRL 😭😭😭
Worst girl ever.
In the opening there was a foreshadowing because at the beginning we saw a clock who went back 1 minute

Now I need a reaction to you rewatching this opening!
And this is the reason Ultear is one of my favorite character in Fairy Tail.
Ultear gave a chance of survival.
Ur and Ultear both used sacrificing magic. Iced Shell and Last Ages
Next episode finna have y’all bawling
Rip those Hips
owk fiary law is explicit says that it target any living being the caster sees as his enemy so it doesnt work on structure
The desire for Fairy law is understandable but there is a limitation to its power and we'll see just how serious the misuse of that magic later.
You just need to be indestructible like Makarov
His doctors think he is a zombie
OMG I COMPLETELY FORGOT SHE SACRIFICED HERSELF 😭😭😭
The important part to remember is if anyone tries to tell you anyone BUT Ultear is best girl they are a bloody liar.
This. Especially in Fairy Tail. She sacrificed herself still thinking she's evil and thinking her sacrifice didn't help anyone. And the worst thing, no one knows about her sacrifice except, well, that would be a spoiler. They did her dirty. :(
My favorite arc.. better than the last arc 😂 (for me)

Maybe react to opening 16 again, it hits different after this episode! (you will enjoy it)
