      I agree that they will likely be one Wilt, Bill, and three Kareem, but Kareem has, I think, 6 more seasons than Wilt and 7 more than Bill. So he might have caught them with the extra seasons. Based on what reporting said, Wilt was more prolific with blocks, but Bill was better at converting them into fast breaks. We really don't have stats on either, but if blocks and steals were a stat. Wilt would have an astonishing number of triple-doubles and probably more than an unofficial quintuple double.

    blocks were not a stat when Wilt played, but estimates are that he averaged between 8-10 blocks per game, that would have him with more than 2x Hakeen's totals. There is only one GOAT, and his name is Wilt Chamberlain.

      @dcfunhouse 6 місяців тому +2

      @@ngc-fo5te your suggestion is a hypothetical, whereas mine is drawn from reviewing available game footage. Another way to think about it is to compare the performance gaps between the players and others from their respective eras--Wilt's number dominated like none before or since, whereas the Dream put up good numbers but nothing nearly as dominant versus players of his own era. Hakeem was amazing, but no where near Wilt's level in scoring, blocks, points or rebounding.

    • @ngc-fo5te
      @ngc-fo5te 6 місяців тому +1

      @dcfunhouse Do some research about the NBA in the 60s. I was alive back then - I went to games - what we saw then was poor basketball with ridiculously inflated stats. Go look at number of possessions and shooting percentages and what that did for scoring attempts and rebounding numbers. Add in that most of the forwards and even centres were six four to six seven.
      What Kareem did in the 70s and 80s was far more impressive than what a loser like Wilt did.

    • @dcfunhouse
      @dcfunhouse 6 місяців тому +2

      @@ngc-fo5te You're missing me--Wilt could only play against the available players, and the gap between him and his contemporaries was wider than were the gaps for any others from any era. Kareem was impressive, but they had to change the rules to constrain Wilt's dominance.
