I really dig the idea of seeing Flameheart as sympathetic (even if just a little bit) at some point. His relationship with his son in the journal really does seem to indicate that he had a decency to him once. More lore please SOT and AShinyRay :)
for those who dont know the cursed chests in the the chapter 'the son' atracts krakens at its curse and for a long time this chest was on krakens fall so krakens would come to it and die by being beached which is how the island got its name.
I'm never gonna look at that red skull in the sky the same way I used to think oh some decent loot but now its a giant story with lore and all kinds of things glad an underated youtuber fell onto my recommended cant wait for more of these lore vids
AShinyRay The way they end this depends on whether they plan to make a sequel. If they want to make a sequel, they’d probably create a new villain for it, but if they just continue to support the actual game for years to come, then Flameheart will probably stick around
Imagine if in the next tall tales you have to fight the dark brethren, but instead of jack sparrow accompanying you flameheart is with you screaming taunts at the enemy the whole time
Really glad to see you doing these again! You still posting these to the subreddit? I do have two questions: you say past the speculation point that Horatio's the one that bound Flameheart to his remains. Flameheart's dialogue when he's released doesn't make me think that, but it's an interesting idea. What made you think this? As for other, how'd you manage your timeline?
Good questions! I won't be posting them to reddit as people get very angry for you posting your own stuff (regardless of how good it is)! My 9 Tools video was met with instant dislikes which killed it, luckily it's been revived! It is true that Flameheart says he was trapped in his remains, but I don't think it refers to him being defeated in this way, just that he was tired of being trapped in them? I do understand where you're coming from though, my prediction was just based off what we can see Old Horatio do in Seabound Soul. As for the timeline, there's some small details across the Tales from the Sea of Thieves book, Athena's Fortune novel, the origins comics, the Demarco and Lesedi comic and the Tall Tales that help piece things back together. Without revealing too much, there's around 30 to 40 years between Athena's Fortune (Ramsey's rediscovery of the Sea of Thieves) and the Maiden Voyage. All will be answered soon enough! And lastly, thanks for watching! It's nice to see comments like this and dicsussion points being raise!
@@AShinyRay I think that has more to do with the type of video that one was and how subjective it was. I'd say try another lore video and see how that goes, but it's your call. So I actually think you're right about Horatio being able to do that! I recalled the journals for Seabound Soul being a bit weird, but they do definitely confirm an Ashen Lord on board doing some curious soul binding stuff. That definitely raises some questions now, doesn't it? The interesting thing with Flameheart is he makes that remark about being trapped in his remains for a long time and then immediately follows it up by the one of being betrayed "by his own kind". That could mean so much, especially considering we have no way of knowing if he was even a skeleton himself before our unbinding of him. I look forward to you detailing your timeline. :p Two more things I wanna mention 'cause I like these: 1) Jr mentions at a point in TftSoT that he last tried to grow facial hair in his twenties, suggesting he's probably in his early to mid thirties by the time he's finally out and doing things. Poor thing's life ended before it began. 2) Flameheart's skull in game makes the same noise as an Ashen Lord's skull and that tickles me something fierce.
@@ThisHandleIsntAvailable02848 I may post again to see how I get on! With the Ashen Dragon, I almost said while doing my research that Horatio was the captain but Adara is, that's when I came across the fact Old Horatio performed the binding. I must have missed the Flameheart Jr. remark about the facial fair, I do vaguely remember something about stubble on his chin? So that's something to consider. Even if he is a bit older, I imagine the timeline would still match up? Maybe? As for the skull, I tried to listen to see what it said but it was incredibly difficult to hear, so there could be clues for that! It's nice to have someone bring up fine points that I have missed, so thanks for that!
@@AShinyRay I noticed that last night while rechecking some stuff. I wondered who the writer and captain was and realized it must be Adara. Although, I do wonder why she(?) makes mention of being the only one to remember "flesh kinds" words. Horatio sasses us just fine when we fight him. Idk, something to keep in mind I think, but everything else lines up. On a left page in TftSoT, half of the page is first covered with some colored drawings of compasses, then there's an entry titled "Some Finishing Touches". This is the entry he makes that comment in. "I was in my 20s when I last tried to grow a beard", then: "through laziness I allowed an impressed growth to cover my chin and get stuck under my nose." So Jr is definitely at least 30-something by his account here.
@@ThisHandleIsntAvailable02848 that's cool! I will definitely be correcting that for my timeline and will have to re-assess if everything still works. I honestly can't wait for the next Tall Tale but I highly doubt its coming in Season 1.
With the recent pirates life update. We discover the remains of the silver blade at the siren citadel, and the cursed chest was that chest of sorrows variant.

He was a good father who believed in actual piracy, if we are supposed to be pirates in game, he is the closest character to actual pirates, the pirate lord literally wanted the sea of thieves to be a huge alliance server where he was the only guy you turned in loot too lol
Honestly not bad. But with the new sea forts and Golden sands Outpost being destroyed by phantoms (And how do I know it was phantoms due to the green fog. We find green fog surrounding the sea of the damned, not sure about anywhere else.) I think Flameheart is doing something more than changing the tides into his own vision, just don't know what though. Anyway with the sea forts, you wouldn't take over sea forts just for the hell of it. No it's a strategic placements for a assault on the seas. Flameheart is targeting the pirates Lord. Trying to A. Capture their spirits and lock them away Or. B. Turn them against each other with some type of ritual. but it begs the obvious questions.
