Capitalists will never give up their power willingly. There will always be a "power struggle" when the working class demands basic respect from the Capitalist bosses. You have to impact their bottom line to really grab their attention and make them rethink their position.
If the owners can pay a union-buster $3200, they definitely can invest in better safety gear, better pay, and better injury benefits. Stunt people get injured. When they can recover, they often go right back to doing stunts. Its just better for the business to be properly staffed and pay employees well. The customers love seeing happy employees.
@@stupifyingstupedity2112 funny thing is, that would absolutely bring big conglomerates to their knees. imagine not only all baristas strike, but also all fast food workers, and then all retail workers, that would reallly bring things along fast. though that would also be a bit of a problem to the public if noone can buy food anywhere.
All the best for these workers. As writing from Germany with big unions, it's actually not always that bad for employers as some have said themselves (not openly of course). It can bring stabilty, as it can e.x. prevent strikes, it's easier to negociate with just some people than with each and every worker over payments and regulations. As experience shows union professional workers fight for their workers, but of course they also have the company in their head, as they obviously don't want it to go bankrupt. As one can check, Germany despite having a lot and powerful big unions, is still economically a powerful nation and rich people still get their money. Unions are not the death of companies, sometimes they can even save them, when workers bring in own ideas how to make stuff better, because workers unlike highly paid consultants actually work there and know what they do.
It's not really comparable as german companies also have "workers counsels" where the workers are able to vote on decisions in the company. My guess is that in the US the thought of the workers having the right to influence the course of the company is probably unusual.
I support you all. Everything and everyone has a lobby, except workers. We used to have good unions until they were infiltrated by the corporates. People now start realizing that there is nothing but explotation without unions.
I'm from New Jersey and went to this very location twice as a teen in the 2000's. They do deserve to be treated better than this! This type of wage slavery of course goes well before medieval times itself.
What an amazing looking show! I can’t imagine she’ll like that where workers don’t get paid what they deserve! The dangers and inherent risks of working with live animals and doing stunts like that! May all of you get what you need and deserve!
THEY AREN'T ALREADY UNIONIZED!?!? I figured they'd be part of standard show unions. All the plays and shows have unions. How the hell do they not have a union already?

I don't think that's a good idea. Unions should be something that's uncontroversial. Second thought makes videos about ending capitalism and such. Associating unions with that kinda content will hurt your message. Many European countries showed that capitalism can work for the benefit of the people.
Capitalism is just going after everyone, left and right and it will not stop til we keep fighting them and getting we, as employees deserve. It really sucks to hear that even the Medieval Times isn't safe from it. To those who do these incredible shows, I say thank you. But I hope you get to unionize and that you get treated and paid fairly as well. Stay strong. Stay unionized.
**USA need EMPLOYER Unions.** Yes, you heard me correctly. Membership grants medium sized companies, that are often scared of Unions, because of the unknown, access to lawyers, experts financial folks and similar. That can guide companies in a manner that removes the fear of Unionization of the workers and makes sure the negotiation between the workers and the employer is done in such a manner that the bis change, correctly, over time to adapt to the new change, while also reaping the benefit of Unionized workers and proper setup that removes issues in regards to injuries and so on. The more people are Unionized. The bigger the middle class will grow and in turn demand for goods and services, like Medieval shows, will grow indirectly. Retaining access to future revenue that will keep this small to medium bis alive.
It's because they abuse the horses, some knights (not all) treat other co-workers (if you're a squire, a newbie) or not in the show, like shit and make fun of you. Happened to me and a few friends. I would NOT recommend working there. Multiple friends are on a "do not hire" list a decade later after working there, to see if they can go back. Who holds a grudge for that long, and why would you care? At one particular castle, heard a lot of talk about some jackass named Steve, had many many complaints, and I saw a heard why from others. Was an asshole, though don't know what happened to him (there were multiple Steve's btw, don't know which one exactly) but the one I saw looked like the jackass judging by his actions (stepping on people in the show, on phone during meetings, told this stuff). They transferred him multiple times I heard due to his attitude, if he's not fired, I wouldn't be surprised. Also, even though the show is rehearsed and fake, the performers get $10 an hour. Not worth it.
Are y'all sure this isn't just a bad bot?
