In 2001, a group of exciting young string players envisioned the creation of a conductor-less chamber orchestra, based upon democratic principles, whose focus is to be purely on music-making. This organic approach, passion, and commitment resulted in the creation of ECCO (short for East Coast Chamber Orchestra ). Its members are some of the most talented young chamber musicians, soloists (many of them making appearances with such orchestras as Chicago and Philadelphia), and principals in major American orchestras. Translating this diversity of experience and virtuosity into a unified ensemble approach, ECCO combines the strength and power of an orchestral ensemble with the personal, intimate nature of chamber music.
VIOLINS: Annaliesa Place, Tai Murray, Jessica Lee, Meg Freivogel, Nick Kendall, John Marcus, Jonathan Chu, Nelosn Lee. VIOLAS: Beth Guterman, Jonathan Vinocour, Maurycy Banaszek, Melissa Reardon. CELLOS: Dan McDonough, Earl Lee, Na-Young Baek. BASSES: Nate Farrington, Tom Van Dyck. OBOES: James Austin Smith, Nick Masterson. FRENCH HORNS: Adam Krauthamer, Paul LaFollette

Dissonant, harsh, full of tension, and soo passionate, dramatic and rhythmically vital. Wonderful, compelling music wonderfully played! Thank you...

dear person, as i see comments like yours, i now understand that this music is only for smart people, people who can see that music is not only for a instant "good feeling" but also a whole structure, a structure that can be seen only when all of it is listened without any prejudice.
But i'm not blaiming you, this is how you've been seeing around you since you were born.

yes, I overreacted, I admit it, and I'm sorry for that, anyways.
It does evoke TOO much tension, yes, but what I'm trying to say is this is just about how we all have been listening to; about the practice of listening. i don't believe in that natural tension we feel, in an interval such as 2m. This may be all about the practice.
See you around, regards from Istanbul.
