These people have built up such a stigma around guns that they unironically believe and explosive can’t possibly be more dangerous.
They believe a 9mm can "blow your lung right out of your body!" I'm not joking!
They are dumb as hell!
Ah america
In the situations is needed bullets could absolutely be more dangerous, running a small bit of explosives near a baracaded threat has a far shorter range it can do damage as opposed to winging bullets at them
While believing that it's much more "mortally superior" to die from being stabbed, strangled or beaten.
I heard it's supposed to be a wall-breaching robot, but it's kinda funny to imagine a terminator running through the city lobbing grenades at people.
Not the future we'll get but we definitely deserve it.
Look up the slaughterbots vid.
Cops: we get a bad rap for killing innocents
Also cops: grenade out!!!
Would it chase criminals or would it be a non-racist robot? 👀
more like a claymore high five
This falls well in line with one of my dystopia/apocalypse predictions, the use of robots to police and oppress people, since they conveniently lack morals (not that robots are necessary, given how Canadian and Australian police have been behaving recently)
well said. maybe they are we just dont know.
Current police force are pretty much drones for the government already, replacing them with actual robots would make zero difference besides more accurate shots. Lol
@Griffith they don’t really need go that far. If the people controlling them have interests that run completely counter to yours they will still make life awful.
Police are like us except with a different perspective
I remember during Bush and Obama years they debated over military operations in America, against Americans and the use of drones on American citizens.
Just as a reminder, that journalist and 6-7 kids killed in Afghanistan was such a case.
I also remember a remote detonated device being used on those shooters (husband and wife) in Dallas I believe.
Where we're at:
Medical death panels, care based on race and gender, euthanasia or assisted suicide, family and doctors deciding if its time to take you off life support, rationing of resources, compulsory medical procedures such as vaccine and chemical castration etc.
I'll leave out abortion as that's been around for a while.
But it takes a while for these things to kick in.
Imagine Waco or Ruby Ridge but with drones.
Even less accountability for sure.
People: Show us the body camera footage from the one incident you responded to over a month ago.
SFPD: Yes, we're arming robots with explosives.
What incident

It is better. The amount of human feces everywhere will ensure that when an explosive round goes off, the whole city will combust. Problem solved
Even in Xcom you are told to use explosives sparingly, and you are fighting aliens
That's because command wanted to capture technology and specimens intact
@@Sigilstone17 .well, they already have all the medical records of the people they plan to blow up

Don't worry between fuel shortages and energy costs they'll struggle to run for more than ten minutes, if at all.

The program will be halted due to the racism of its disproportionate enforcement against certain groups.
Robots capable of using lethal force in SF? *Where do I donate to the cause* ?
Can't tell what will occur sooner at this point; Robocop because of the use of robots on the police force, or Judge Dredd now that these robots are able to use lethal force, as well as not being able to arrest people. I know it may be over simplifying those two franchises, though it just goes to show how our liberties are continually being stripped away from us bit by bit.

Its gonna be for barricaded felony suspects I'd imagine... Like the Dallas BLM police shooter. They blew his ass up with one. Drove it up next to him, on the other side of the wall and BLAM! It was hilarious.
@@jimmythe-gent sent to the shadow realm
This was done once in Dallas when a sniper had killed 5 police officers (as well as other people) and had barricaded himself in a building down a long hall way.
They used a robot armed with explosives to finally take the guy out.
That was a pretty extreme circumstance though, and probably shouldn't be implemented, as that sorta thing rarely ever happens.
But what if it does happen? Who will volunteer to enter a kill zone, where someone holds down a corridor like he did?
@@johnbaines2969 well it shouldn't be so hard to take any old bomb disposal robot lying around and strap explosives onto it.

This has all the hallmarks of one of the best jokes told in any comedy. You set up with something big, and then exaggerate it to the point of absurdity.
Honestly i laughed when i saw it
expectations for robocop saving people in San Francisco, have been crushed.
You robbing a store and all of a sudden some random robot runs up and poops out a grenade next to you're feet.
No, they protect those people. They will use them exclusively on white people, so as not to be seen as racist.
😂
Giving "an explosion in crime" new meaning.
Who else imagines Swarm of the explodey mini drones from Black Ops 2 flying over there? then just one of them randomly shoots off to blow up a lemonade stand or something
This reminds me of the movie Anchorman, where in the large news group fight, Steve Carrell was running around holding a grenade and yelling
That escalated quickly. I mean that REALLY got out of hand fast!

And we warned them these things would happen and the refuses to listen and now they'll use mental gymnastics to justify this.
Its already looking like the dark future depicted in cyberpunk 2077 and edgerunners.
Considering the published documents about faking an alien invasion as a means to unify humanity against a common threat, Half-Life's Combine look more and more plausible every day. The only major difference being that the real-life Combine will just be foreigners in dolled up full body armor and not actual human/alien hybrid.
"I'm sure it's only a glitch." - Future headline.
This legit got an honest laugh out of me. I want to know the logic that was employed for this.

@@xposetruth5681 well, it is from San Fran-shithole, so, both?
Ah yes explosives over guns much less concerning
Murphy and Darwin are *both* laughing their arses off right now taking bets with each other on the ways this can go sideways.
Well that escalated quickly.
“What makes me a good demobot?”
"You won't be shot, but your leg may be turned into minced meat or you'll be burned into ashes. Don't worry."
They should invest in some Turdinator robots to clean up their mess.
“I think you better do what he says, Mr Kinney.”
Imagine walking into 7-Eleven and getting stabbed by some meth-head hobo and then calling the police only for some robot to respond and come blow the 7-Eleven up.
Before: headshot the criminal to release the hostage with minimal colateral damage
Now: just blow up everything, who cares if the hostages die?
Marty and Doc really fucked something up somewhere along the timeline.
That's just like when I reassured my dad that I didn't wreck the car, I only drove it through the front of our house.
You can survive a gun shot and sometimes fully recover however you can't survive from an explosion and if you somehow do you will NEVER fully recover. Logic 101
RoboCop nightmares coming true ASAP.
Ah yes, just like the self defense frag grenade...

The irony of a bomb defusing robot being equipped with a bomb is not lost on me

Whew, for a second they were going to give the robots guns...
Isn't this the same state the requires a trigger warning when someone says the word "shoot"

*in robot voice*
"Crime detected, initiating self destruction"
Well here's the scary bit; how many of these robots are going to be nullified with a small EMP or shock to their mainframes(electrified water on the ground, frying their circuits, etc), and then stolen, dismantled, and the weapons/explosives being removed; or worse, the entire robot being repaired and then new operating instructions being installed(software) to make them cause havoc and hurt people?
Robots should only ever serve in roles that limit their ability to cause harm; production lines, food processing, mining operations, etc. We can't have them fighting our wars, patrolling our streets or taking care of our children; once we remove the human element out of too many facets of society; then what is there to be proud about? Automation has it's place; but we shouldn't be trying to RE-place actual people from work that REQUIRES human finesse.
We have to appreciate that humans are not perfect and can make mistakes, and that's ok.
I used to think that the world would be far better if we did fight wars with robots, but not AI controlled ones; literally drone armies controlled by 'pilots' who weren't on the front lines; but after seeing the AI monstrosities that places like Boston Dynamics and other countries are making; I feel like those companies need to be shut down and hard laws need to be enacted via the Geneva Convention so that every nation knows there are limits for such things; and that there's no place for AI controlled anything that can actively start hurting people.
About the only intelligence speaking in the memeology community
I could see how a lot of people would do things to a robot that they wouldn’t do to a human police officer
Look at the bright side they could be repurposed to take out politicians.
We gotta watch a whole lotta people die horribly before they even consider adding anything like that to the Geneva convention lol.
Thanks for the idea, scrap it for parts for my lada
