I never understood the hate Invictus style fragrances got at first. I picked up spicebomb night vision edt last year when I began collecting and thought it was amazing. Then after putting my nose to about 20+ more frags I realized what Ash was referring to. Now I couldn't agree more. They're great scents for what they are meant to be but they lack the slightest bit of uniqueness and are so easily picked out from the crowd because how obviously one dimensional they smell.
It's just as bad as the "Aventus" Inspired clones.
Partly, yes, but then again some of these are great on their own for example AdG Absolu, and some frags that has been inspired by Aventus are great as well, especially for 40 bucks like Explorer.
@@MoahGentle I hear you ...my thing is if you bought 3 clones you could have had the original not the imitator. My personal view on fragrance is simply. Buy the original that is what the company originally wanted . The "Flankers" are just that . So I don't get caught up in the flanker wars. They are milking the original release, that's it.

I have Invictus/Intense/Legend/Aqua, Legend Spirit, Hawas, Absolu and Wanted. Probably some more that has been inspired by Invictus, perhaps Boss the Scent? My favourite is Invictus Intense.

I don't know what kind of bubblegum you guys eat in the US , but here in Europe there is no bubblegum that smells like Invictus. Invictus smells like sea-herbal-citrus and that's it.

I'm sick of them too. Everytime I smell a new fragrance release, if it smells bubblegum sweet, I pass. For people that aren't experienced with fragrances they sell though, unfortunately.
I agree with you. It has to stop! I do feel icon racing is more similar to Popeye eau fraiche, but that too has that bubblegum vibe.
I just got the New Invictus Victory, and I returned it because to me it smells like EROS. It was one day after I bought it and I just went ahead and bought The One Eau De Parfum. I like the mid and dry down of the original Invictus. The opening you can keep. It’s not something I reach for often. Hopefully the end is near for the Invictus train.

Ash, I got a legit issue with this video. There are only so many essential oils and only so many synthetic fragrance components. I don't think they are all Invictus flankers. Seriously. How do you know the difference between using a few similar scent molecules and a flanker?
Imagine my horror every time I smell a Musk base in a fragrance!!! It's so blatant that they even used Sandalwood, too! Shocking!
And, the outrage a human must feel at the blatant copying to ever think of using Citrus in your fragrance, let alone the opening!!!
The nerve these perfumers have to think of using Lavender in another fragrance!
Every perfume with Rose oil and Sandalwood Musk is clearly just a Chanel No.5 Flanker, right?
I mean, only Sauvage is allowed to have Ambroxan, right? Everyone else is just a flanker of Sauvage, which was a flanker of Bleu de Chanel, which is a flanker of whoever introduced attention grabbing openings, which is a flanker of whoever introduced Musk bases.
They're all flankers, using that logic. I am begining to truly dislike the term "flanker." If someone straight copied 90% or more of the scents, then it's a blatant attempt to copy. But, I can't even define flanker at this point.

Odly enough my two favorite scent profiles are Aventus and Invictus so I pickup virtually every related scent... It is a money pit but one I keep visiting

@@steviem706 Honestly I think the ultra cheap Cuba Winner is the closest. Slightly less powerful but for the price it is a no brainer. My favorite though is MB Legend Spirit - though closer to Aqua I think this is the most useable of this dna.

I think its not specifically about Invictus, I mean technically every sweet and fresh fragrance is inspired by Le Male vom 1995, which kinda has that bubble gum sweetness as well.
The formal is simple, girls are obessed with sweet fragrances on a man, now you can shake it with darker (or masuline) notes to have a mainly night and winter fragrances or with fresher notes to have a mainly spring and summer days/nights fragrances.
Either way, both types work great all year long depending on the time of day, occasion and temprature.
At the end we should be lucky that so many houses kinda copy a specific type of scent, cause one day it might be discountinued.
There is zero similarity between le male and invictus.

Of course there's none or almost none, but the idea of a fresh masculine scent with strong intense sweetness comes from Le Male, that parfum changed the men's parfums forever, the fragrances are different but the concept is the same, although Le Male useage of Vanilla, Tonka, Cinnamon and al all together gives it a bubble gum vibe to it and that's what Invictus picked up on just slightly different and making it more of an citrus aquatic than barber shop.
I have to agree with you, i just don't get the attraction with this scent. It's just not anything special! It's really about time these fragrance house came out with something fresh and inspiring. I'm not a fan of bubblegum scents.

If you ever smell those fragrances in rack stores that are just loose bottles, most of them either smell like Fierce or Invictus.

Hey mate =) Thanks for the video. I tried the modern Invictus Aqua and it is weak projection wise, and it is so artifical it caused me to have slight respitory distress (build up of phlegm on the top of my lungs specifically). The sample I got was from 2017 on the label.
What about YSL Y? for me it was the same boring Invictusy DNA, the EDT and EDP's at least...

Only the Intense one is simular. The one in the all black bottle. Almost the same but with a spicier tone. But the dry down is awesome.

Rasasi Hawas is not a clone. It is an original concept.
@@DanishKhan-ky8su Similar nonetheless. Rawas was released 2 years after the OG Invictus but a year before Aqua and people say it's like a mix of the two.
