I think that vlogmas is a good way to celebrate this form of christmas. It's less of a "wait till the 25th" and more of "the whole month is christmas".

I’ve seen several people complain about the “join” with the swivel cords. You are not alone!
I love the metal sound of my needles. And one of the reasons I don’t like bamboo or wood needles is because you don’t get the sound hahahahaha!

I love my new forte needles. I agree about the swiv cords, the red lace cords are the best! I noticed that the swiv cables aren’t as irritating with DK weight or larger yarns. I will only use red cords for fingering weight yarn.

The fingering weight yarns on the new chiaogoo cables are kind of a pain but they are so flexible.

This year I have decided to view the Vlogmas offerings of those who have consistently made videos all year long and save the others for 'whenever.' Yours is the first I am watching. I love seeing Toaster and also Kent. It looks like you two are into meals from scratch, and I enjoy hearing about your combinations. I like that you are making a few of the advent yarns into your continuing projects throughout the Christmas season; it will be fun to see them grow. You're not the only one who has issues with metal on metal. The sound has a sensation that I can't handle, so wood needles for me. It's interesting you only have it with these metal needles and not others.
I love toaster snuggled up under that blanket 🥹 metal noises make my teeth feel weird too.
Natalie I guess along with you and I've been right the last 2 days too! I'm finding the same issue with the chiaogoo swivel cords, I'll be curious if it gets better for you. I like seeing the NYC scenes - nostalgic since I lived there in the 80s. Pants and blanket are looking good.

Christmas in NY is the best! Gonna miss it when I move to FL next year. Oh the peppermint bark candy is my favorite holiday treat! Gotta pick some up! The Starbucks cranberry bliss bars are a favorite of mine.

NYC has to be the best place to be during Christmas time 😍 Also, you really are a great guesser on the toy advent and y’all have some slinky skills. The clinking of the needles is my fave thing about the metal chiaogoos but my husband feels the same as you, and I find the swivels to be not as fun to use as the red lace also.

I have the same thing with my teeth whenever I use my HiyaHiya Sharps! I try to distract myself then or listen to something else. But funny to see I‘m not the only one getting this from metal needles 😅

I bought a few of those chiagoo swivel cords and my fingering weight yarn gets stuck on the join, too. I had to switch to a red lace. Hoping maybe the heavier weight yarns won’t do that, but we will see…
I just made the switch to red lace. So much better, but a bummer not to have swivel!
@@KnittyNatty yup! I’m bummed because I bought 3 needle sizes in the swivel and had to switch mid-project. Was driving me crazy!

I was hoping you'd share your thoughts on the Forte needles :-) So far, I've had DK and worsted on mine, and love them. I'm not having a problem with my work catching at the join, in fact quite the opposite! I switched a DK weight brioche shawl from Signature Arts circulars to the Forte, and finished the last few inches (at the widest width) much more quickly. The SA needles were constantly unscrewing from the weight of the shawl, and the fabric kept bunching on the cord, so each row was taking nearly 30 minutes with 2-color double brioche. I'm curious to see how it goes with the red lace cables.
Really enjoying these festive videos, I live in Scotland so loving hearing about all the NY festive activities 😀. As I'm from Scotland I thought I would just let you know that Musselburgh (the namesake your lovely hats) is a place near Edinburgh in Scotland. Its pronunciation is a bit different to how it looks written down and sounds like "muscle-burr-ah", the burgh bit is the same sound as Edinburgh. Not wanting to be the pronunciation police in an annoying smug way though, just wanted to mention it as I'm from that area 🙂
