I always felt that you paid for Sgt Slaughter and got the Tripple T free, what kind of tank leaves its crew fully exposed? Slaughter is so tough, he probably deflects anything throw at him.
You're right about this being a figure promotion first and a tank with driver second. I've seen the box and it's huge - lots of empty space for such a small toy. Basically it's a deluxe "leader" figure with mini-vehicle, like Zartan, Serpentor and Destro II.
dude most GI Joe vehicles leave the drivers and gunners either completely exposed or protected by only a glass panel, including larger tanks...not to mention they have foot pads that place rider characters squarely in the backblast of missiles or rockets the vehicle carries, and some vehicles would leave the gunner or driver killed by backblast from his own missiles. Most of these vehicle designs would make more sense if they were in a more sci-fi setting like say, the Halo universe, and the exposed positions are protected by bubble energy shields or something like that.
Casimir1100 I don't see a really good way to do this without breaking some tabs. The green inner part is locked to the white shell on both sides of the seat by squeeze tabs which must be freed first. Even if you can push the green seat down through the white shell, it's still attached by two tabs under the rear engine. These tabs are extremely tight will break if you try to free them, in my opinion.
Did you mean versions of Sgt. Slaughter or versions of the Triple T? This figure (by itself) is the rarest, followed by the '89 Slaughter's Marauders version, then the mail-away, then the '88 Warthog version. If you meant the Triple T, then it's the least. The bright white '91 mail-away version is rarest followed by the '88 Night Force version.
No lol i mean the figure. A quick ebay search has going for Sometimes in excess of 20 us dollars with his baton of course! Only other figure this rare and pricey Gen colton who was issued as mail-away.
Over $20 seems a bit high, but Sgt. Slaughter figs always fluctuate in value. Besides the baton, his file card is also hard to get - printed on the back of the box, it often gets wrecked by packing tape removal.
Well kev do you have any places in gta ? Shipping and the us dollar is what always I find factor into play. I recent scan of the 80's toy expo out west end had no v-1 or v2 slaughters. I have the Warthog version, which I've found the most easy to obtain. But if you know any places or links that wont gauge a fellow canuck I'm all in. You can p-m I dont care. thnx buddy.
Honestly, you get the best deals at toy shows like the upcoming Burlington ToyCon (June 19th) and Mississauga Action Figure Expo (July 15th-17th). Especially if you wait until later in the day and the sellers want to pack up :) As for places, Bountyhunter Toys in Hamilton is a good place (but they're undergoing some renos, so I don't know what their stock is like currently). Kool Stuff Toys also in Hamilton used to have great vintage GI Joe stock at reasonable prices, but I haven't been in a long time. Remember to check out comic shops (they sometimes don't advertise that they deal with vintage toys). I remember Altered States Comics in Mississauga once had a lot of vintage toys but don't keep a large stock. There are some trustworthy Ebayers like 80svintageplayground and toy-pimps both of which are local (pretty sure Toy Pimps would even let you do local pick-up).

This is a toy I have always wanted when I was a kid. Nice review
curious what the measurements of the triple t is?.. would you by chance have that information?.. how tall/wide and length..?
Length is 6.5 inches, width and height are 5.5 inches.
Nice review!!! I love the sarge and his tank!
I need to take this tank apart to conjoin to separate tanks, because I'm restoring my childhood toy, what is the best way to take the shell apart?
