I won a PS2 on a radio contest in 2000, and loved it. I lusted after the PS3 in 2006 but couldn't justify the cost, as I was totally happy with my PS2, and did mainly PC gaming. I decided to wait for prices to drop. Prices eventually dropped, but then the PS4 was announced. I decided to wait. 2013-2016 ended up being a rough couple of years, and I couldn't justify the cost of a PS4, so I was forced to wait. Then they announced the Pro, and I decided to wait for that. As I was finally getting ready to pounce on one, PS5 specs were released, and I decided to wait, because of course. Cue the pandemic. *waiting intensifies* Supply chain issues eased, holiday inventories replenished. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and my lovely girlfriend snatched a $399 digital edition for me to stop my nearly 2 decades of dithering. Let me just say it's a BIG step up from the PS2.
What a story, it’s cool you won a PS2 through a radio contest, and it’s also a great console, and I’m sure the upgrade to the PS5 was well worth the wait, enjoy the new console 👍
This is the dumbest story I've read in a while, it's even worse if true.
Thanks for sharing.
My opinion is: if you already have a PS4, getting a PS5 isn’t really necessary until it starts getting more good exclusives (3 years later almost its entire library is also still available on 4.)
However, if you never got a 4, go ahead and get a 5.
@@tgreg9542 I’ve played a PS5 a couple times too. I like the controller but otherwise don’t see much difference
@@morsecode980 The loading times is insanely fast lol. You can share your screen in the party. Graphics are better.
@@Shadiitoooo I’ve never had problems with my PS4’s loading times, don’t use parties much anymore, and I’m not really a graphics person.
At this point, I'm definitely waiting on a Pro model. It sounds crazy that the console is nearly three years old already. Time has flown by so fast that if asked, I would've guessed the release was a year and a half and certainly not more than two.
Even if I can't get my hands on a Pro, the regular model should dip enough to become more affordable.
I ain't gonna lie I did try to wait as well but I couldn't.... I had bought mine like 3 months ago when I found out they were in Walmart stores boom I went. I got the disk version
I see little reason to wait. Plenty of games available for it now, early adopter kinks are long sorted, and the console is readily available today. There's likely a mid cycle refresh in the pipeline, something with a focus on ray tracing, but one cannot simply wait indefinitely. I have no regrets upgrading my 2017 PS4 Pro to a PS5 in late 2022.
Exactly right. I will never tell someone to wait to buy anything if they can afford it. Some people don't care about a Pro Console or a Slim version.
I bought one only a couple of months ago. I love it and don't regret the decision at all.
Just a few days ago, I visited my local game store and the guy had only one PS5 GOD version and a few RE4 remake in stocks. The beauty about these corner stores is that sometimes you can haggle with them. Told him I only have $525 in cash and I was able to walk out with a brand new PS5 GOD and RE4.
Nice, and enjoy the new console and games. Although I haven’t played either of them, I’ve heard AMAZING things about God Of War Ragnarok, and even Resident Evil 4 has been getting 90+ review scores too
Just got my God of War bundle from bestbuy for $508 on Sunday. No muss no fuss.
Nice, enjoy the new console and game. Although I haven’t played God Of War Ragnarok yet, I’ve heard it’s AMAZING!!! 👍
I managed to pick one up close to msrp around christmas 2021 and so far i love it. My only complaint is like you said, the expensive game prices. It is not that much of a problem though because i tend to play the same 5 - 10 games ive gotten on sale anyway. Great video by the way.
Nice, and it's great you managed to pick one up so early, and yeah, at least the game prices don't matter as much if you typically play the same few games, but if something new releases that you want to play, it's a high price to pay at launch, and thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video 👍
only buy games on black friday,i always save my money for black friday and than spend around 200-300 dollar on games, bought 23 ps5 games and 3 switch games last black friday and only finished 7 of them so far
i have one to but i only have one problem they make you pay for the games then if you want to play muiltiplayer you gotta get a 15$ subscription to even play online with that payed game
For me, I really don’t plan on upgrading at all and just switching to PC instead. As of now I have a PS4 with a ton of redeemed PS+ games and I love it. I’m not the type to care about graphics or playing the newest games, I just kinda play what I like and most of that is indie games, which consistently drop on both generations. In my opinion, the PS4 isn’t “old hardware”, it’s still heavily supported.
See at least you get it bro! Its all about PC and Nintendo now! New PlayStation and Xbox consoles are dogshit tbh, PC just does everything better, also Nintendo switch has 130 million sales, Xbox and PlayStation? Barely hitting 40 million, that should tell you all you need to know…
While its ok to wait for ps5 pro, it's also true that those are just leaks with no certain deadline. It says late 2024 but it's not guaranteed that they will drop it by late 2024. As someone who has worked at Sony before, let me tell you hardwares take a long time before getting the green light for launch. Currently they are sending out the dev kits for ps5 pro but they also said "it may be cancelled". They are just experimenting with the idea & its viability it doesnt guarantee that Ps5 pro will 100% launch late 2024
So you need to ask yourself are you ready to wait a minimum 2 years & most probably more than that? There's gonna be so many great games that's gonna come out between now & then. Might as well wait for the ps6 if you are here to wait lol. Most people i know are here to play games & not speculate when a new hardware is dropping. They bought the ps5 just recently after 2 years of lockdowns & supply issues & they are enjoying all the games. They will trade it when the pro drops or keep the ps5 & upgrade on the ps6 since they dont see that much value in a ps5 pro. It will most likely have raytracing & 4k60fps native. While that's certainly a good improvement, its really not that much of a jump compared to base ps5.
The Ps5 pro will be a niche market for only those who still dont have the ps5 & are ready to wait 2-3 years for it. Most people who already got the base ps5 will not upgrade to the pro version and the reason for that is very simple. People only upgrade when
1. They feel that the current gen console they have has been pushed to it's limits & has nothing more to offer.
2. When they feel the newer console is substantially superior to the one they have. It's so much better that they must purchase it.
Neither is true for the PS5 & PS5 pro. Base PS5 itself has just began it's lifecycle & hasn't been pushed to the limit. And the PS5 pro is an improvement but it's not that much of a jump. Those who stick to their ps5 wont be missing out on anything. Upgrading to ps6 would be much better deal for them since that would come out after a long long time & it would really be a substantial jump from the ps5. People in console industry dont like upgrading consoles in short intervals like smartphone industry. So those who already got a ps5 just recently won't switch to ps5 pro in 2024 that's not how consumer behavior works. Only that niche segment that's still waiting & the ones that think they must have the latest technology at all times would be the target market for the ps5 pro
Exactly, thats why im thinking of just getting a PS5 pretty soon especially since the slim wasnt even announced at the showcase like it was rumor too. Love my ps4 pro but they're clearly at the end of rope of still releasing games for it and im already running out of stuff to play as it is
Thats true. i bet the PS5 Pro if it comes in 2024, will come earliest in Fall or for Holidays by then..
A very helpful look at the situation, i would be very interested to hear your thoughts on the latest leaks, since a 100€ discount has been announced in my country and i am very much thinking about getting my first ps5 in the next days
I bought 1 this year and have so far played Hogwarts and god of war . That's it what the hell has happened to the PlayStation's killer games library
The Main reason i can't be bothered yo have one, PS brsgging about exclusives and the catalogue avaibable only on ps5 it's small and underwhelming after 3 yrs
Another tip is that you can move the PS5 games to an external hard drive and its quicker to transfer than redownloading.
Especially with the large game file sizes, and the PS5’s limited storage capacity, if you can’t afford another internal M.2 SSD for the the console, then this seems like a great solution. That’s a great tip to know, Thanks Superfly 👍
For sure came in handy for me. Thank God I already had one for my PS4 Slim so I was good to go when I got the PS5.
Yeah definitely sounds like a good idea, and a much faster way to reload games onto the console
@@theprogammar True, but you can´t play PS5 games from an external HD only PS4 ones but least you don´t have to re download it.
Playstation sells on the name alone just like iphone.Anybody who understands good marketing knows whats going on.Fanboys can yell exclusives all they want but its the same cookie cutter cinematic games design with every title and its getting old
That’s fair and each to their own, I quite enjoy the design and storytelling in most of PlayStation’s exclusives, but I get how they may not be for everyone, and with Xbox Game Pass, the Xbox Series X/S is definitely a great option too, but I’d say it usually depends on what you’re looking for when gaming as to which console you should buy

Yea same here. Demon souls tempted me elden ring did too but ff16 made me really keen to get one

Yeah, the PS5 is a great console..... until you compare it to the Xbox Series X, then it's pretty underwhelming.
Got my PS5 yesterday and it's wonderful. Picked it up for Msrp, Mw2 edition, and since i already had a 3tb extended storage for the ps4, i was able to just plug it into the ps5 and upgrade most games i play regularly for free, and the ones that arent free are only about $10 per upgrade. Pretty fair imho, especially since last gen is coming to a close
the major 2 issues with the PS5 is the storage costs and the day one PS5 games being so expensive in the UK and Europe £60-£70 per game with buggy and early access quality standards, you begin to see why gamers are frustrated by this, thankfully you can still use external storage for PS4 games but the option should really be available for PS5 games by now instead of letting your compress and archive the games, they should also be played from there despite the negatives of not using a expensive internal SSD
the only way to avoid playing day one prices is to just keep indulging into your backlog instead, by the time you get around to completing the demanding grindy games the more recent titles will be cheaper anyways, this is how i've approached my gaming habits and it seems to work for me this way
and a good mention is also the price of the dualsense, UK prices online are a joke, up to £90 scalpers are asking, there seems to be a shortage of them and it's frustrating or was trying to buy a new controller when my old dualsense had the stick drift issue smh
Yeah, especially when paying $100+ (In Australian Dollars), there really shouldn’t be as many games released as buggy and requiring Day 1 patches as there are, and it would be great if there was an option so that you could play PS5 games at lower settings off of an external hard drive rather than having to buy an expensive internal M.2 SSD if you like
And agreed, I also slowly play through my backlog of games and pick up new ones either once I get around to them, or once they’re on sale, and I’ve also found it to work quite well in order to game on a budget
And I’m not quite sure what the market for Dualsense controllers is like in Australia as I haven’t tried to buy one recently, but hopefully the prices will come down as the availability becomes more common, because it sucks that controllers are being scalped for you in the UK
@@theprogammar yeah the situation is pretty dire over here I hope it improves soon, lucky for you that you don't need a controller right now
Yes it helps to keep things on a budget to approach gaming/buying new games this way
As much as I want a PS5, I can't justify the price tag. I'll wait longer, but at this rate it seems that prices keep going up instead of down. 😏
I thought they recently dropped the price? They’re like $400 without the disc drive near me
I got the PS4 Pro in 2016 and love it...The fact of the storage space for the PS5 being the same as the Pro turned me off right there. I have a 6 TB external hard dive (for $99.00) that holds 100s of games plus my 660 gigabytes from the PS4 pro. Not to mention, I dont see a huge improvement in the games from the Pro to the 5 either. Pc games cheaper ? Lmao call of dutys that came out 10 years ago are still 60 bucks on steam
@@r.r9864 u must be dumb, he meant when its on sale. Plus games that are on sale on pc is worlds cheaper than console games
Hah, we must be two sides of the same coin. I sold my current gen systems back in 2011 to build a gaming PC and haven't owned a console in 12 years... just picked up a PS5 yesterday to compliment my PC, and it must be said as great as PC gaming is (with more than its fair share of advantages over console), there's some notable areas where the console experience is outright superior right now; notably the ability to resume a game's "saved state" from sleep, lack of any shader cache stuttering and the HDR experience (which is quite poor indeed on PC).
It's also awesome that physical copies are still a thing on console, not because I'm a collector, but it's just more power (and options) to the consumer. Being able to pick games up used to save some cash and then sell it on if you no longer want it is really great. It's a freedom we forfeited years ago on PC to be on the cutting edge of digital distribution, but I'm glad its still alive in some form today.
Why did you have to switch? I always did both so I got the amazing exclusives of playstation and the variety and mods PC offered
I agree with number 3, the prices are not good here in the uk either for coloured plates. Although I love my ps5 I managed to buy one from Argos for around 600 for mine. It’s graphics are amazing, it’s load times are much quicker. Storage you can fit much more games on if you download games with lower gb. I like the way it looks because it the first console I bought for myself🥰 no regrets☺️
I can agree with what you're saying except the look. I think thats abit on the picky side 😂. My take on this is that the reason most people didn't have a PS5 is because of the pandemic occurring, it hindered most consumers from obtaining a console for almost two years. Most of the scalpers ruined that option and made it truly difficult to justify those spikey prices they went for. For the standard prices thats asked for this Gen I think they're extremely reasonable for the specs they contain. Many console players dreamed of a time that they would be caught up to PC players in terms of gaming quality. I think we're pretty much there. And with the cost of parts, graphics cards upgrades, etc, PC gaming isn't that far off in terms of pricing. I think we all knew that gaming would get more expensive each generation.
I bought one. After stubbornly enjoying my PS4... it's 100% worth the upgrade.
Nice, and enjoy your new console and all of the AMAZING graphics and load times that come with PS5 gaming 👍
Just got my ps4 pro last January to keep me busy with tons of games to play with, while waiting for the ps5 pro to drop at the same time..😏
Me too. I’ve realized that the best time to buy a console would be 3-4 years after release. Cheaper and more polished games by then.
The biggest and most glaring problem is a large amount of games on the PS5 are on the PS4. So getting a PS5 is rather pointless unless you want slight upgraded version of those games. The only pro is its a 4k player but most ppl don't buy care about that.
Its not even a slight upgrade what bs. HFW looks miles better on the ps5 and its a surprise how it even runs on the ps4.
@@Lord_ofcinder Still doesn't have any games buddy but that is a problem with both Xbox Series S/X and Playstation 5.
gonna have to disagree. I'm pretty sure you don't have a gaming pc and the best you've experienced is 60hz cause that's where the ps4 caps at. The day you'll play on the ps5 with AAA titles at 4k, 120hz you'll realize how much of difference there is between old gen and next gen gaming.

Sometimes a loud minority of people within online communities will just spread negativity, even though the majority of people enjoy both consoles, and gaming as a whole. And there are tons of great communities and people out there. My reason why not to buy a PS5
1 They haven't price cut on the base and slim console . In the us the disc version is 500 . And it was 500 at launch . And i would like if they price cut the Disc to 400 dollars and digital version $300 . Giving a reason for some not to buy a pro version . And we know there going to be a shortage on the pro for around a year .
2 There planning to released a Pro version in 2024 . And i still say there is no reason for a pro . If game are still going to be buggy at launch
3 Remastered Ps4 game even they give out a free unlock fps
4 Barely any game is worth a PS5 . Maybe two games right now . Helldiver and Spider-Man 2 ( But that game was massive let down for me )
Hot damn!

Thanks Arch, it means a lot coming from you with all of your great edits. And yeah, I’ve been trying to use each video to improve in one aspect or another, and I’m glad it seems to be paying off, and of course, you can’t beat a classic ProGammar dancing moment hahaha :D
The PS5 Slim will definitely come before the Pro. Maybe later this year.
The PS5 Pro will come late next year. That's my thought. I don't own a PS5 yet, but I know I'm getting it. If nothing has been revealed about a Slim or a Pro by then, I'll be getting one this summer.
I think you're right on that timeframe. They just started actually stocking and selling PS5s it would be weird to throw out another model already. Then there's the fact that developers are just now making PS5/Xbox Series games that aren't made for the PS4 too and it's a great time to get a PS5. I got one earlier this year and I love it you probably will too.
I personally couldn't care less for the Slim or the Pro this time round. Quite happy with the original PS5 there's nothing wrong with it and works beautifully. Expanding memory isn't even a task and have a gaming PC anyway. What I want to see is PSP2 so I don't have to rely on playing crappy apps on android phones and can have a proper hand held Playstation feel where you can have access to your library and the games designed for it. I'd happily go out and pay for a PSP2 provided it's price tag is sensible and not more than the actual console.
Yep, that’s what factoring into my decision to on staying with PS4 pro instead of 5 for now. That bulky look and weight just seem troublesome. You don’t want to carry a mini PlayStation pc around when you need to move it. Beside, games there are still overpriced and you just ended playing mostly PS4 games anyway with the backward feature. Don’t see much reason till either the slim or pro to come out in a 2-3 years
@@ariefhalim5287 I think PS5 Slim and/or Pro will come sooner than 2-3 years. That'll be 6 years into PS5's lifetime. A PS6 is more likely at that point
@@ariefhalim5287 If you move yours around a lot that makes sense for a slim I guess though that seems to still be an issue with a PS4 pro. They all run considerably better as PS5 games. Plus Sony has already said starting in June they aren't thinking about the PS4 when making games going forward starting with FF16. All that to say if you bought one now you wouldn't regret it but if you got a slim maybe around Christmas that's cool too.

I have had it for a year now and everything works perfectly. I don't recommend making it stand up thou because it damages the cooling system and other parts.

I have a ps5, and it's perfectly fine standing up . I haven't had any problems. I have had mine for a year now. I also bought a 4 TB. Fircuda 530 internal ssd works great from installing games right to it. So if you are able to get one, go for it. I have the disk version sense. I have a lot of ps4 and ps5 disk games. But also have digital too and pay the subscription for the plus extra to use for saving game data.
I still use my ps4 and it works perfectly fine, and it’s just a waste of money to buy a ps5 when they do the same thing
I am the type of guy who really takes care of money and investments, but you just made such a poor mentality statement… The difference is huge, esepcially when it comes to the ammount of time you save during loading screens…
No point buying a new console to play old games. Not any new games made with a new game engine like Unreal 5 to have NEW GRAPHICS.
The biggest thing you haven’t mentioned is that it doesn’t really have any killer games that you can only play there and aren’t on PS4 or PC
Even though it's only 1 game I'd say Demon's Souls is a pretty killer app for the console. I am also really looking forward to FF XVI but that's gonna be a 12 month exclusive to PS5 first before it comes to us PC folk. So there may not be a lot but there are real reasons where it's beneficial to have the 5 over the X. Not to mention games are being optimized a bit better for Sony even though MS has the slightly faster console.

I got a Xbox Series S this week for $200AU, which is $140 USD. I’m super impressed with games pass, load times, and value. I’m a casual gamer, usually play around 1 to 4 hours a week. I can definitely see myself taking the Xbox Series S to my mates houses, for late night NBA 2K session, or when travelling, as a media device. I’m a huge fan of Play Station, but I have to say, I find them a bit stale and clinical. I owned a PS4 since release and I also found myself going to Xbox one and even Xbox 360, before it. Xbox always presented better value for casual gamers.
Yes, xbox is for everyone. Its about community and gaming.
PS5 is for those who can afford 2 consoles and are willing to pay crazy much about everything. And its for ponys who has no other life than staying loyal to their money milking company which takes a lot but gives little in return.
Their hype comes from feeling to be "above" others because of their exclusivity. And that all they have, few exclusive games... there Is 0 other reasons to buy that non backward compatible single player PS5 machine. And even what comes to exclusives the future does not look great.

@@BatmanBeyondBelief Jep, no worth to pay lots of money only that u can play those few games... Xbox has more exclusives also coming In this and next year than PS so I would not switch now.
PS5 vs Series X:
PlayStation has an awesome catalog of games, owns established game studios, and they make strategic partnerships with publishers for timed exclusives. The controller has honestly changed gaming for me and has set the standard in terms of haptic feedback and interactivity. The console is huge though and sticks out, plus the required stand is a little annoying, and game pass has better value than ps plus extra/premium. Backwards compatibility: PS4 games and streaming for ps3 (some ps2/ps1 classics can also be downloaded).
Xbox owns talented, well established game studios, but haven’t had many stand out exclusives so far. Can’t wait to see what Xbox makes over the next few years, but as of today, playstation has more current gen exclusives. The Series X/S has much better backwards compatibility since you can play every format of Xbox games, but only supported games will work, which limits it a bit. Controller is comfortable, and the series x is a bit more powerful than the PS5, making it slightly more future-proof. Game pass is one of its strongest selling points given the value.
Both have discord now which is massive. Both can play media/streaming apps, cross-platform games, blu-ray.
It honestly comes down to the games and your friends. If you like the games from either company, buy their console. If you care more about what your friends have, buy that console. Discord integration breaks that barrier a bit, since you can talk to each other from either console, but if you want to have the same console as your friends and don’t care much about exclusives, just buy that console.
Edit: forgot to mention expandable PS5 storage. Awesome perk, but the Xbox does come with more storage out of the box.
I hope Xbox DOESN'T make a bunch of exclusives
Cause that's boring. Less people to talk to the game about or play the game with if it's multiplayer. I would love to play some of the PS games. But I can't because they are stupid exclusives.

I have been told by a rep in the store where I purchased that it is an issue with the motherboard when the unit gets too hot. And that they get several customers a week who are going through this... Google it
Waiting for PS5 slim version is a better option for me.
That’s fair, and hopefully we’ll hear something official about the mid-generation console upgrades soon
Is there a possibility of arseholes out there bulk buying them though? If so you may not get a slim till 2120
I got one last week as it was easy to get hold of and came with ragnarok and extra controller for a bit more than console price. Didn’t really need it but the graphics and load times are a big improvement on ps4 games. I’ll be waiting for cheap deals on the games though
Really not worth it switch is better for its price better games, more fun, more features and many more
Personally I find Nintendo games are more for young generation. PS exclusives are amazing and have far better deals on games. Don’t mind the switch for it’s portability but not as a sole console
@@dannyboisparky not really the switch has adult games too just now when tears of the kingdom dropped everyone played and if it were for children that wouldn’t have been right it may seem for children but it isn’t most adults prefer the switch honestly easier to boot and play and many things
@@Water_Fire444 Switch can be a lot of fun but when you see on your couch in-frond of the big TV screen is kind of lacking.
PlayStation is much better for that.
I don't really take the Switch out of the house but i don't play with it much on the big screen because when am in-frond of the big screen i prefer powering up my PS4 Pro.
Still don't have a PS5 since the PS4 Pro is a decent performer and like 90% of games still come out on PS4. But now the UE5 first games are releasing and consoles games exclusive to new consoles are starting to come out so in chance of the Spider Man 2 Limited edition bundle i pre-order a PS5 console and am waiting for it in a month and something.
So i'll at least have the included Astro game and Spider Man 2 when i power it up until i get any more games. I can also throw some PS4 games on it i guess.
as an fps player id never buy a switch its pretty self explanitory 30fps, for fps players the switch is worth it. if i were to go from a ps4 to a switch i would just be downgrading tbh. and theres always hella sales on games for the ps5@@Water_Fire444
Always stay 6 years behind the current Generation. You get the best games, skip the dry first 2-5 years of the gen you’re in and upgrade after the 6th year of the newer gen.
The design of it is a big turn off for me and the main reason why I haven't purchased one. I prefer the PS4 design.
Can't believe I spent 7 minutes listening to a dude talk about how cheap he is.
The video isn't for everyone and that's ok, either way, I hope you have a good day 👍
All I know is after waiting some 2-3 years to actually get one available at retail price on Amazon or anywhere else and seeing "Not Available" or at escalated scalpers prices, when I saw one by chance finally available on Amazon approx 2-3 weeks ago for retail price US$499 (Disc version) I grabbed it right away like nobody business. It's an amazing console plus the haptic feedback of the controller is out of this world. You never want to play with a previous controller afterwards. The only downside of the controller is the potentiometer joystick which is easily prone to drifting. I had to change the left joystick including potentiometer after just 2 weeks of use. Other than that it's perfect.
Nice, and yeah, the PS5 is an AMAZING console, and after the 2-3 year wait, I completely understand why you wouldn’t want to wait any longer, enjoy the new console and the AMAZING PS5 game library 👍
You gotta play the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima if you enjoy haptics. And Returnal! Returnal has amazing implementation of haptics, changed the haptics game for me.
As for stick drift, as an N64 gamer myself back in the day, I learned to always be extra careful with my game sticks. I also keep my controllers in cases to keep micro dust from getting into the potentiometers. Never once got stick drift issues on any first party controller whether they’re Xbox or PlayStation. But I’m still traumatized enough from the N64 days to buy the DualSense Edge to easily swap out stick modules in case my sticks ever do develop drift lol. And I have a whole Ziplock full of new, unused potentiometers for my other controllers just in case
ill be careful when i get mine later tonight, but the price being lowered to $499 original and $399 for the digital is a relief.
Dude I don't know where you live at but the Best Buy bats an hour away from my house sales the PS5 with the disk drive for $500 if you are paying $700 for a console then you are getting scammed
Yeah right, I live in Australia so the pricing is different, but when you convert it to USD it equals around $500 for the disc edition
Hahah there have been a lot of people asking about the prices listed in this video haha
Yes that's y i m going for ps4 m gonna wait 2 or 3 years for ps5 pro to release n they are charging too much for ps5 in India 😂
Yeah that’s fair, there are so many AMAZING games on the PS4, and yeah, I’m sure the PS5 Pro will be more expensive, hopefully not by too much though haha
WHAT SO YOU WANNA MISS DEAD ISLAND 2 AND ALL THE EXCLUSIVE TITLES A FASTER LOADING CONSOLE ITS SO MUCH FUN ON AN OLED TV
I WAITED TILL LAST WEEK TWO YEARS IS ENOUGH
There are many reasons why someone might not buy a PS5 straight away, and for those who didn’t, at this point, it might be worth waiting a bit longer to see what any mid-generation console redesigns have to offer
@@theprogammar lol man i just order ps5 with same price as ps4 on Flipkart it was on sale on just 39k 🤟
Bunch of PS5 simps. For the price difference it's not worth it. Most ppl don't have the TV for 8k output and the controller is a cross of PS4 and Xbox.....Sony got y'all paying 350$ more for loading times 60 secs faster 😂😂😂😂you got got
The Console Can't beat the PS3 with games.
PS5 SUCKS! There are NO games. Cancel your memberships so maybe we'll actually get some
I'm cheap so I play PS4
I think ps5 pro would be better.
With games at lower prices since the engine and tempest audio is meant to je easier for devs tu use , thus spending the making process of the game
Yeah, I think a PS5 Pro would be great, and hopefully it will support 4K 60fps for all modern releases, and have a slightly bigger internal SSD
And even if games do become cheaper to develop, I don’t think their their prices will drop as most developers sell games at industry standard prices, which right now for new releases is between $100-$120 Australian dollars
The Ps5 is large enough 👍 plus it might even cost $800 CAD but a ps5 pro would be nice
I keep hearing faster load times but i dont really notice the difference. Are we talking download times or in game load times?
Maybe it's people that have their PS4 dusted and never did a maintenance in years
@@diegosotomiranda4107 well I have a friend that just downloaded Callisto protocol for his PS4 and I downloaded it also on my 5 and he's complaining of it taking forever between loading screens. I said "really?" Mine doesn't even have a loading screen. He says he sees a little bullet hole looking thing spinning between scenes. Mine doesn't even show that.
You forgot to mention the biggest one, the major lack of PS5 exclusive games. Why bother even getting a PS5. PS4 is still getting most of the new games throughout 2023. I have a PS4 Pro w/upgraded 1 tb SSD. Waiting for a PS5 Pro well see what happens?
The first 799 dollars for the console and 250 dollars for the games are enough to play your first 4 games.
You do not need an extra controller, the extra space or a playstation subscription to play your first 4 games. Finish the first 4 then move on to the next four and things are really sorted.
The bigger design allows better cooling as it helps the vapour chamber and the radiator with that additional space to spread off and radiate the heat in a more even and quick manner.
You're being a bit dishonest most people will want to play their PlayStation 5 online eventually so that's a cost you should add in even its getting it on day 1 vs a few months in
Great video quality for a small channel! I’ll subscribe. As for the Ps5, I’ve managed to get one in December when they where still hard to get especially with Christmas coming up. But can’t complain so far, it’s an amazing machine! 😋
Thanks Wesley, that’s greatly appreciated, and I hope you enjoyed the video. And yeah, although I haven’t bought one yet, it seems like a great console indeed, and what an AMAZING early Christmas present it must have been too 😄
@@theprogammar Yes it was indeed. Those graphics are amazing! I wasn’t surprised because I expected a lot from it and it delivered!
Yeah, it can definitely achieve great graphics, especially after seeing footage from Horizon Forbidden West on the console
Not to mention at least for the area I live in the most you pay for a game is 70 bucks but in my opinion even that's too much the most people should be willing to pay for a game is 60 bucks which is what it used to be before the price hike
And yeah, similar to the games since my prices are in Australian, they’d be a bit higher, but when converted to USD they come to around $70-80. I believe that’s also including any tax so once you include that on the US price, they’d be about the same.
And yeah, games definitely cost a lot nowadays, but they also cost a lot to produce too. I’m not sure what the profit margin is on sold games, but it would be nice if they were a little cheaper
Honestly I really don’t like my ps5. None of its features interest me now for example: quick play, I don’t care about going through a menu to get to the mode of the game I want to play. Also the lack of some features surprises me, no changeable backgrounds, no easy way to access some of the best classic libraries of any console, and no easy way to see patch notes. The classic’s library thing really bothers me as I love many classic games on PlayStation but with no easy way to access them without a subscription it really annoys me. (also half of PlayStations classic franchises are never used) something Xbox will always have is good backwards compatibility being able to play blinx: the time sweeper on a modern console with no emulation is honestly so cool. I’m considering switching to Xbox later this generation as that has good cross compatibility with pc.
PS5 will cost a lot before you even start playing because of:
Need extra hard disk (not really needed, I am with the original SSD from day one and still didn't updated)
Need to buy games (what??)
Need Ps+ (why?)
Controllers (news for you, the console actually comes with a controller)
I feel like, he is just randomly trying to make it as expensive as possible to comapare it with gaming PC...
However, gaming PC:
Video card: 500$ (around the price of PS5)
Motherboard: 100$ (minimum and not prefered to use so cheap one)
Processor: 300$
Not sure about proper RAM prices at the moment, but I guess it cant go bellow 140$
ACTUALLY NEEDS SSD: 250$ and if you want to go for the extra storage 250$ more. (only here we have one ps5, lol)
And you still need power supply, box, cooling, audio card if you want to have actually good sound(something build in consoles), LAN card because the one of the motherboard most likely sucks.
You may need keyboard and mouse (unlike ps5 the platform is not coming with those).
And lastly you will need Windows because computer don't work on free will and unlike consoles operating system is not build in.
I'd love to get one but it costs too much. Even in the remotely situation that i'd get the console, then i'd have to spend even more for the additional memory etc. At this point, it's better to get a pc under the same total price with way better prices on Steam and no sub
I had to get a thousand dollar pc just to run analytics tools and id bet that thing does not run games too well
I don't think a pro version matters as I can't afford 8k TV anyways 😅
That's fair, and I'm sure the PS5 Pro will probably cost more too, and if you're happy with the regular PS5, then that's all that matters 👍
I really hope they make a PS5 Pro or Slim and even though there’s loads of rumours I’m still a bit on the fence about if they’ll actually do it especially when you factor in that there is still stock issues with the current generation of PS5’s 3 years on from release.
There’s tons of ps5 lmao it’s been like that for like 2 years the only time it was a struggle was like the first couple months
@@hoodmoney219 well it seems they will not make either one of those models since the ps5 is selling like crazy they will probably just release a gen 2 ps5
Im an introverted extrovert. Aka i like to hang with friends but i love my alone time. Been an xbox guy for almost 10 years (im 19). I love it still. But i just bought my first ps5 and im excited to play exclusives by myself lol
Let's be real, in Australia you can get these games significantly cheaper if you buy from anywhere but EB.
I own a PS5 for almost 2 years and since a few weeks ago I have this amazing bug that the console shuts itself off when I play PS5 games. It doesn't even shut off normaly. It shuts off like I pulled the plug. It is a shame that Sony sells a broken product at a high price. I also heard reports of others who faced this bug at the same day they bought it
The only downside to me.. Is the small storage.. So I got to buy a 1 tb SSD
Yeah, it would have been nice if the storage was a bit bigger, especially with how large some game file sizes are, but at least you have the ability to buy and install another M.2 SSD to the console
Yeah, it will be interesting to see what storage sizes are available for the mid generation console upgrades like a PS5 Pro/Slim model. Hopefully they’ll be 1tb, with a 2tb option as well
My plan from the start of the release of the PS5 was to wait until I could walk into a store and buy one almost 2 and a half years later after turning down multiple opportunities to pay $800-$1000 just have one before this time I wasn’t gonna wait any longer as soon as I saw them in stock I went back a few days later and all of the UA-cam videos about if u don’t have a compatible TV then it’s not worth it because u can’t see the difference between the PS4 Pro, and the PS5 not true I don’t yet as far as my TV have the hardware that runs the ps5 at the optimum level and I see the difference my advice will be if you can get one get one
Yeah nice, and after 2 1/2 years, it's great to see consoles are finally consistently back in stock. And that's fair, after all that time, it definitely would have been a great pickup.
And yeah, I didn't even think about the PS5 and TV Compatibility as a topic to discuss within this video, and although you'd probably see more of a difference if you had a TV with the recommended PS5 hardware specifications, you'd still see a big difference on a 1080p TV with the extra power of the PS5.
And yeah, buying the console now is probably the recommendation for most people, but for those people who haven't bought one yet, it might be worth considering to wait a bit longer to get a better version of the console that more so does what you want, and when some games are a little bit cheaper too, then buying one now when the likely mid-generation redesigns are just around the corner.
Enjoy your new console and all of the AMAZING games on the PS5
Yeah right, I haven't heard about that before, and until anything is officially announced, I'd take all reports like that with a pinch of salt for now
It’s good to see a fellow Australian helping me with my new gaming console choose!
The only pro of this console is gamepad. Hate design, no browser!!!!, cant charge controller with 3rd party cables. But like we have a choice...
I'm definitely waiting on a ps5 pro...
That’s fair, and hopefully we’ll hear something official for either the PS5 Pro/Slim models sometime soon
Just be wary that it could cost a crazy amount. God knows when it’ll come out. I think they’ll release a slim first. It doesn’t really need a pro it’s very powerful
I was debating waiting on the pa5 slim and then the pro but I was like nah! It’s already amazing and in about 3 more years we’ll have ps6. So i got it and man oh man! I also have an Xbox series x but the ps5 is on a whole other level. The controller and the slightly better graphics is worth it. I was blown away by God of War graphics and forbidden west burning shores. We don’t get games like that on Xbox. And the controller! The controller!!!!!! You can feel what you see on the screen and even hear through the controller with that dualsense! Now I see why everyone I know has a ps5! I also got a 4tb ssd for the pa5 for 160. Sooo…winning!!!
@@xeyepatchh6429 Literally every console generation in Playstation history has lasted 6 or 7 years. No exceptions at all. It will come out in 4 years at most.
I got mine in march of 2021 in the US for $499 for the disc version. I love mine. Plus, with the exception of the most recent games that have come out, almost every game mentioned is already on sale. I did buy a m.2 SSD because I wanted to not because I needed to. I just did it so I put my ps4 games on the system storage (bc they're smaller) and ps5 games on the 1tb m.2.
If you're concerned about money, I wouldn't plan to buy a PS5 pro, i imagine it'll be more expensive than the original. Plus now they're readily available here in stores in the US. I don't see a reason to not buy one if you really want one.

It seems pretty likely that a PS5 Slim model will be announced sometime soon, and it’ll be interesting to see if there are any specifications that differ from the original PS5
Last month PS5 passed the milestone of 50.000.000 consoles sold. The world can't live without buying one, no matter all the factors you mentioned.
The definitive reason why you shouldn't buy the ps5:
Sony's Jim Ryan said ps5 could be the last console they make, and they plan to shift focus to the online gaming space. This means that all of your current ps store purchases + any future ps store purchases will become obsolete once ps5 ages too much and you want to upgrade to a new gaming system. Plus eventually a ps5 emulator will come to pc anyway, so you can always go back and play the games you missed out on in the future, and sony are slowly bringing their games to pc as well..
I have a feeling xbox series x will be microsofts last console also, they seem to be focusing on the online gaming space\live service now more than ever with game pass so I doubt they will make another console.
Do yourself a favour, and just get yourself a PC or Steam Deck. PC will never be obsolete, since you can upgrade whenever you want. It is also the most backward compatible device on the planet, you can even play arcade machine games on PC with the M.A.M.E emulator XD
The gaming industry is focusing on “micro-transactions” as well as “cloud-gaming” for consoles. They want to move away from discs to eliminate game resales so that developers can make more profit. That does not mean that they’ll stop making consoles, MAYBE ones without disc drives but consoles aren’t going anywhere, that would be ridiculous. Millions of people around the world incorporate gaming with a controller/handheld device, not a keyboard and mouse, yes I know PCs can have controllers but people don’t like change and don’t forget that lots of gamers are not tech-savvy. Half the gamers in the world are kids and parents aren’t gonna build gaming PCs for them. I could list plenty more reasons but I don’t wanna make this too long lol. Even if PS or XBOX stop making them, another company will emerge, just like it has many times in the past 40 years, before PS or XBOX even existed (Atari,Sega,Dreamcast,etc.). And btw when (retiring) Jim Ryan said PS5 could be the last one, it was just an answer to a question from an interviewer asking if that was the case when the PS5 launched, and Jim only said “I don’t know, I don’t think anybody knows”. I speculate he said that because 1) developers weren’t really sure how micro-transactions and cloud-gaming would be embraced by consumers. And 2) it’s a great marketing strategy to get people to buy more consoles if they think it’s the last one ever lol. But yeah consoles are here to stay man.
Considering Microsoft is buying out the majority of these gaming companies and their titles. I dont see PlayStation fairing well over the next couple of years, due to rights over titles and becoming Microsoft exclusively.
Problem with waiting for a pro is that shit is just gonna get bought again by bots n sellers n you'll be waiting another 2 years
this gen is just so disappointing, nothing innovative and groundbreaking except more ways to squeeze money out of your wallet, if I want better hardware I'll build a PC, if I buy consoles I want a good stream-lined service and good exclusives, which PS5 doesn't have, i'll just stick with my PS4 for a foreseeable future
Me watching this video *buys a ps5
One of the reasons i didnt buy the ps5 IS because sony removed themes 😢
Is it possible to play the game i bought with my ps4 account like (assassin creed, witcher skyrim ...) even if those games doesn't have ps5 in them?
I’ve had mine for almost 2 years now, and it’s still the same as when I first bought it. Super quiet, great quality, amazing graphics, and unreal speed. It doesn’t overheat either. And don’t even get me started on the PlayStation exclusives!! Overall, it’s a great console. Would totally recommend!!

I got a PS5 a month ago and it’s amazing I absolutely love it. Xbox has its perks too but I just prefer the PS5.

And yeah, I believe there’s a version of Xbox Game Pass for PC (I’m not sure if it’s the exact same though) but it could be worth looking into if you decide to get a PC
And agreed, PS Plus has some great games on it, not to mention all of the new releases coming to the PS5 too and you’ve got a great library of AMAZING games to play, with a ton of great releases coming in the near future too
Of course the Ps5 is amzing, and you should buy in 2023. This video makes no sense 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻
Yeah, the PS5 is a great, but depending on what you want from your gaming console, although some reasons matter more than others, there are a few reasons to hold off for now
