Verdansk had 488,000 active daily players at its peak with mw19/warzone verdansk and over 100 million downloaded players after 1 year. They haven’t had that many players since. That says a lot about what people like, movement, guns and maps. Warzone 2 has about 70,000 active players. It has nothing to do with the pandemic as Fortnite is still doing 230 million players today. Bring back Verdansk with the mw19 movement and allow players to use guns from any cod up till mw19 and watch the player base come back to life and devs will see the money flow again. Verdansk made $5M per day back then. And now with only 70k active players, they won’t even make half of that.
I love numbers taken out of nowhere. You can only get "warzone" number out of steam, which is not even the biggest platform on PC. and it wasn't 5 mill per day, but per week. Only real number you can compare are MAU, monthly active players that they are sharing every Q.

I only came back after over a year and a half for Rebirth Island coming back. Despite what some people say half the male population aged 18-35 would take the next week off work when/if verdansk drops
yeah, but with new gameplay, not interesting after a few rounds. I liked Verdansk together with the gameplay style it had in the first year. Everything after that was abysmal: childish skins, crazy movement, footsteps sounds gone and more.
Ppl are clamoring for a big map rotation now. Urzikstan and Al Mazrah would be fire. They brought back Rebirth and Fortune's Keep and it's cool, but just like what you said, not having a brand new map for BO6 at launch is gonna be disastrous.
Verdansk back would definitely make me play more. As it is, Al Mazrah was rather dull, and Urzikstan marginally better. We're always fighting in Old Town/Low Town. That said, I wouldn't mind a 3-day rotation of 2 large maps. Eg. Verdansk/Al Mazrah then Urzikstan/Caldera At least we're getting some variety
I gotta say I only started playing again because they re added Fortunes keep and then later Rebirth Island as I played it a ton back on WZ1. Its still not the same as it was but I was able to have some fun. Verdansk won't bring me back to playing as much as I was before. Nostalgia hits hard but we need to let verdansk go.

You're right they shouldn't have got rid of anything in the first place they should have added to it took it away and then added to it for the new engine and then left it in rotation leave it all in rotation then add some new maps then you'll have a true need for the Call of Duty hub

In my opinion, the Maps Itself are not the problem but the shitty gameplay, the movement, weapons and the biggest: aim assist. Just let the pc players play with pc players if they want to.

The pacing on Urzikstan is mind numbingly boring most of the matches. They need way more players on the big maps. And what if they dont have 150 players on Verdansk? That would be a huge let down also. Seems like warzone has been going backwards with features.

People are hoping that we get what we had back in 2020 but people need to face facts…we won’t. Two things, Activision hates its player base and if they wanted to keep what they had going they wouldn’t have killed it. Second, you have never repeat that first spark and people have moved on. It wasn’t just Covid that brought this game to the height that it was, but it was the engine, the map, and the modes. If Activision and the developers cared, they would have kept the way it was but face it….they hate you with a passion.
We tried the new map after verdansk. Stayed for the rebirth stuff and some zombie stuff . Then went back to Fortnite. Could not even get behind the multiplayer because it felt like a waste of time because I wasn’t going to use the unlocked stuff for warzone.
This is bound to fail from the beginning. Do you all remember how successful Verdansk was? It was incredibly addictive-I used to wake up at 4 or 5 am just to play solos or with my teammates. The engine was fantastic, with awesome mechanics and gameplay! Now, we have a really bad engine, and the game just doesn't hit the same as Verdansk. It's nowhere near as addictive, and that's why they're going to see all-time low numbers in player base pretty soon.
Call of Duty should have new BR Modes and Resurgence Mode.. BR should be team of 5 cinco and have every BR Map all in a rotation.. And Quads for Trios for every Resurgence map made in rotation.. Then create brand new maps for Duos and Solos and have rotation for that.
Personally I think bringing verdansk back first is a great idea considering how much people have been asking for it BUT I think it should be brought back back December 2024 and bring the brand new map in February 2025. That way it’s not much of a wait to play the new map as well as people are gonna get what they’ve been asking for.
100% agree. Its a disjointed progression. The hype of Verdansk also wont hold me for more than 2-3 months. It also wont play the way it used to. We aren't all barricaded behind the "safety" of our front doors, with few other interesting options. Times have changed, and they seem to be hedging their bets based on 3-4 year old market research.
You can also play Verdansk right now on your phone, with a controller. If you have a high end phone, you can even stream this to a monitor or TV and it's no different than console/pc

They dont have to give us map pick, but a map rotation, so it isnt an issue for finding lobbys
And have each map playable in all the different squad sizes for all game modes
