- The Mansion created by Lullibert and he says, "This is a fully themed underground Spooky Darkide called 'The Mansion'. I started building on this over 6 months ago and now over 800 hours later it is done. This has been my biggest project so far. Actually the darkride is a part of my park 'Lulliworld' which can be also found on my workshop. But this is a single version of the darkride."

Alright, look, I hate to be critical of this, and it is truly an amazing creation, but something about it still should probably be brought up.
This creation had all the right parts, actually some of the most amazing parts I've seen, but I don't think they came together to form a good whole. Or maybe it was a good whole. But only "good." Not "great" or "amazing" like the individual parts suggest it should be.
The main issue I see is this creation seems to be it's just going from scene to scene with no rhyme or reason. The creation didn't seem to have a central theme or plot, aside from going through areas themed to whatever could be made at least vaguely creepy in Planet Coaster. There were a couple places where the events the ride was going through got repetitive, primarily going through that old temple area with the fires spurting in front of you, and the spiral up in the jungle scene.
But don't get me wrong, the scenery on this ride was incredible. Every single scene was beautifully crafted and every single building beautifully constructed. The terraforming, aside from 1 or 2 cases, was great, along with the texturing of the walls and ground. Scenery and effects were repeatedly used extremely cleverly, and using mascots for scenery has to be one of the most clever things I've seen on a Planet Coaster creation. And he actually used a Kraken pretty well.
I just don't think this is the best dark ride I've seen. More stuff tying the scenes to each other would've put it there.
And you had the patience just to say that
noname117spore I prefer rides with a story too.
I thought the same thing, but it didn't really hinder my enjoyment of the ride. The atmosphere and breadth of the ride would make this a must for me if it existed IRL...
Agreed. Narrative was missing. It's in the line of "scary stuff alongside the ride". Compare that to the completely immersive feel of Pixelated's rides.
Amazing effort, each segment was done really really well, it wasn't real cohesive for me either, I started in the Haunted mansion, at one point was on Pirates of the Caribbean and then to a church which apparently is evil or something, then I'm in fire, hell I'll presume etc.. All beautifully done and rendered, but a little tying it together with something even if its someone telling a story as you ride past or something to give you a clue whats up.. Just a person opinion though, its masterfully done.
That was absolutely amazing. It was very scary in the absolute best places and the fact that there was no music at all made the experience even more scary. I rate this ride at 10 out of 10 for everything about it it is that awesome!
Not sure if anybody else saw it, but at 10:44 if you look up into the dark blue lighting, the face that you see there is really terrifying. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but it took the breath from me.
So much to see. A really good ride.
Just fantastic, great work Lullibert. So atmospheric and so many great scenes.
I had been thinking about building a dark ride for a while, I just don't have a lot of extra time though to put into the game like some folks do, and then I see something like this and I am like LOL! Why even bother?! With the little time that I do have to work on anything anymore, this would take me 2 years of Sundays or longer to build! This thing is insane!
An extraordinary construct!
That was amazing (loved the part where you ran the person over). The details, triggered events and layout was brilliant.
These are my favorite episodes! When you just jump RIGHT into the ride :D I always skip half the video just so I can see what I came for, the ride (And if it really is beautiful I watch the entire video for scenery)
Intro's are usually pretty short, i keep them under 2 minutes. And now I show cinematic shots including views from the ride, so you are seeing what you came for from the first seconds of the video. :)
I agree with this sentiment when it comes to dark rides, using cinematics at the start often causes "spoilers."
Jaw on the floor, amazing job!
Loved the part where the victim gets set on fire in its cage. The entire "jungle sequence" theming REALLY looked like it was out of an Indiana Jones film. I completely believe that this took 800+ hours to build (which is over 33 days if the creator worked on it 24-7!). I think the church sequence was my favorite, particularly because of all the attendees present (and the "curved fire"). LOVED IT!
I feel like this darkride wants too much. The different themes/scenes aren’t always coherent, which is a shame, because the detailing is beautiful and very creative.
The main entrance/queue line is a spooky manor, so I would suggest sticking to that “story”. A pirate town or a jungle scene doesn’t seem relevant to me?
But sure. Yes. The detailing, the terraforming, the lighting is all beautiful!
Exactly.I expected to go through rooms of an old mansion, but then I'm suddenly in a pirate town.
Definitely my No1 Dark ride
Amazing video Jonny!
INSANE !!! Total talent !
The best Planet Coaster Dark ride is 100% “Hotel Dusk”. That’s a fantastic ride!
hotel dusk was pretty darn good, i featured it on this show over a year ago. I think this one tops it simply cause it's using more of the newer scenery and DLC packs. Just adds more contest overall as well as a longer experience with more areas.
I completely agree Jonny
My favorites are still "Dread: A Horror Coaster" by Pixelated (from the early days of the game's release), and a recent one (a contest entry, IIRC whose name escapes me...I THINK it was by the gal who made the contest entry about the rabbits and the magician (ANOTHER favorite, BTW) that had a sequence that gave the appearance of being in an elevator. I also loved "The Shining," and although they may not REALLY qualify as "dark rides," the ride about the mushroom searching for the meaning of his existence, and the Disney-esque Alice in Wonderland ride...
@Don all the rides you brought up were actually coasters. I think "dark ride" has multiple interpretations, but for me it has to first and foremost be a ride, not a coaster.
It's great but instead of the magic cats, should have used the motion rider and dim the lights. Overall cool ass ride. ⭐⭐⭐
Truly an awesome dark ride. Definitely looks like 6 months of effort put into it with all that landscaping and detailing. Loved every bit of it, especially giant psychedelic spider in the web. Might be good to expand on it in the near future using elements of the adventure pack, especially replace the old lava with the new textures and animations. One of the funny elements that stood out to me was the guy hung on the gallows by the guillotine. As we went by, the waves. Did not expect it to be so long though, but the experience did not drag since there was so much to see and hear.
I loved 3:51, 4:42, 7:10, 8:13, the ice castle was cool, also liked 12:38's concept. I loved it
Definitely the longest
“I want to get off Mr. Bones Wild Ride.”
I love all the terrain monsters they are so cool and original
love this, haha especially when you ride over the person hahaha, very well done, respect!
Epic but spooky 😱
Very Nice build, wow lot of details, even a bit to much. Awesome key points on the ride well done,I personally think it could have some fat trim from the ride to make it little more enjoyable ,leaving out some long empty scenes . But over all.It is amazing Build. Well done :)
Some people are just better then me at video games and I am ok with that
I like this. I wish there were some jump scares.
I miss ur reactions while riding :(
If would be great if you can control on the ride when it becomes night mode so you don't have to go to the main settings to do it before going on a ride since the issue of indoor areas have light seep through no matter what.
Its a great ride, but it is a bit confusing.I thought it was going to be about a haunted mansion, but then suddenly we're in a pirate themed town? How does a mansion have a town inside it? Maybe the name didn't quite fit the ride.
Is the park available to download?
The best detailed maybe, but the longest!
cool shit!
I swear i have watched this befor on his channel?
EDIT:-
I was wrong sorry channel 5, it was a different video i watched, when i was looking around. Going to watch it again on here thou :)
And he did not have put a link to the original video...
How can I add these sounds fx?
Well, as awesome as this is for all its details and the great athmosphere, it is by far too long.
Hm, I'm appreciate the amount of work that goes into a ride that long, but I'm missing something here. There is no theme, no story that I could follow. It felt incoherent, with just random elements put together. That made it kind of boring and not really scary.
Could have been so much better...
Fell asleep. Long doesnt mean good. Woooo more slow straight lines!
Honestly, I was kinda underwhelmed. The environments were cool and well done, but there was no connective tissue between them. Also, nothing really happened in these scenes. It's like going through a haunted attraction where the lights and effects are set up but no scare actors to occupy them. And this happens too often in these Planet Coaster dark rides.
I like how you almost sound offended for them. Very kind critique...
