Btw, if you play Super Poly and a single copy of the Yubel fusion from PHNI, as soon as they resolve Phantom and summon you can fuse their whole board.
Ikr? There are even decks that play Yubel with Super-Poly and nightmare throne just for this. Super-Poly also gets you the ability to discard garnets if need to be.
Let me reformulate. You cant fuse with phantom of yubel, so other than playing an extra card in your extra deck, you need to play through their board while waiting until they use phantom, which is definetly gonna be used only after you've dealt with apollousa, and at the end of the day, instead of destroying spirit to summon yubel they could potentially destroy yubel summon terror incarnate instead. Not to mention that even if they wanted to destroy spirit summon yubel, they'd have to wait till their one copy of yubel hits the grave, since there's good chances it's still under the rank 10. Cuz if they dont have the rank 10 it probably means you handtrapped them at some point. All this to say that fusing their whole board is funny but not real. Been playing with 60 card SE Infernoid Fiendsmith for a couple weeks now, no handtraps all breakers. Have room for 9 non-engine, currently using 3 Talents, 3 Thrust, and 3 Droplet. Been doign very well online with it and then did a 5 round tourney for INFO sneak and only dropped 1 GAME and that was due to a misplay I made by not correctly counting levels. I think this INFO format requires complete blowout staple cards, not cards that trade 1for1. Every card needs to be high impact type cards and also you need enough gas in the engine for the follow up.
For hand traps, what about Typhoon (the trap)? - It has good utility vs yubel with all their continuous/field spell usage, and can hit the snake-eyes diabellstar off of field spell vs snake eyes, among a lot of other things in backrow. It is also playable going first as a set card.
I side Grand Horn of Heaven for going first. I think it’s spicy tech to negate built in summons (inherent), and force your opponent onto the next phase 🤷♂️
Also if you combine it with thunder of ruler , to prevent the battle phase , and you also use grand horn , youll skip thier entire turn , since if theres no battle phase (from ruler) then theres no main phase 2 , and you use grand horn to skip thier main 1 , that combo would just skip their entire turn
I feel that shared ride might be an overlooked as a side deck card. I also think that mistaken arrest can be better than mistake in many scenarios. Post side/going first, it's just a better version of droll.
Yeah, my take on heat wave has changed massively. At first it just seemed like a free way to by-pass Tenpai's weakness in going first, but it doesn't really do anything bcs we're in a handtrap meta. If your in game 2 or 3, your opponent is gonna have sided out their dead handtraps like veiler, so they're already more likely to draw into a live handtrap, especially with the extra draw you are giving them. You basically go neg 1 for nothing in most cases. Tenpai have better cards, or rather more consistent side deck options going first. Not to mention that this card is useless against trap decks like labrynth.
Weird thought but what about Spell-Shattering Arrow against Yubel? Probably has to be paired but can deal with the Desirae as well as the throne/pain. Effectiveness probably depends on if they end on Varudras too I would think.
What do you think about herald of orange light? Specifically melodious. The hand traps it can run is wide but with orange light as an option it feels absolutely necessary to run
Weird take but if Fiendsmith does take off and is as resilent as everyone is predicting we may end up needing to run Gnomaterial and Ghost Reaper sonewhere in our lineups as ways to cut off Fiendsmith access. And Spooky Dogwood may be a good choice for Gimmick FTK. That said, these are more of emergency/budget options that you should only consider if your events are overrun with the decks. These are cards that only see use in very specific formats and this might (emphasis on might) be one such format.
Would Santa Claws be an optional main or side card? Although it's similar to kaijus, it does synergize with fiendsmith via the search spell for either board clear or fusion material. Also potential OTK with yubel setup.
1 issue you got rivarly as a good floodgate, while yes vs snake eyes, sure, but vs yubel, or tenpai, ant doing nothing, but unless i am missing it there can be only 1 not on here for some reason, now again vs snake eye its ok, not great tho, but vs tenpai or yubel, it can win games if they cant get rid of it.
I was really expecting droll to be a main deck staple. You mentioned how it's good against Yubel and said it's not very good against snakes. But people were already siding it against kashtira snake eye, so why wouldn't we against fiedsmith? Engraver, tractus, ash, poplar, bonfire, wanted in gy.... it feels really impactful, and if they start with engraver there's not much they can do. It's also great against some rougue decks like white woods. Would love to hear if you have a counter-argument or if it's just an oversight
Fenrir became much worse now because when you summon it vs snake fiend they will just princess pop it then negate the princess with desirae to be able to summon ip when they want.
I have heard some people talking about spooky dogwood to beat the gimmick puppet ftk, since so many other handtraps dont work against it. Its usually not so good, since all it does is win in time, but with an un-handtrappable ftk in the meta... maybe its worth? What are your thoughts?
Honestly surprised you don’t favor Droll more than you did. It hurts Fiendsmith Snake Eye more now than Pure Snake eye (and Fiendsmith decks in general) It obviously hurts Yubel as you mentioned. It’s also really strong against Tenpai with them now playing the new poke draco, the deck searches 2-4 times per turn and cutting them off is a lot stronger than other decks because it blinds second with very little utility outside of that. It’s also important to remember that Sangen Kaimen adds to hand first, then specials, so droll turns that card off as well.
Iron Thunder is honestly worse than Solemn Judgement. Your opponent is unlikely to play into it, meaning that you need to play around your own card the entire time. That and negating summons is better than negating monster effects on field.
What about for mirror, Belle, crow, reaper, drnm, Talents, Thrust, Evenly, chummy, and phantasmay this line up would ensure we play through desirae and all omni negats so that we resolve drnm, or evenly, do our combo and win. We play through 3-4 hts so if either of these cards resolve evenly or drnm we are just completely winning
It would depend when they start making appo. I think hts is not enough even with mulchummy as I have been testing and I am just playing through them and completely winning if I play first. Feels like a die roll gouki eske format.
Also forcing the negate with the negate that can not be targeted by taking appo is a thing and it is insane the problem is going first with these cards. We are in a format where our side decks bevome half out main decks.

Is it worth justifying playing mourner over veiler if you main shifter? (assuming we are already maining imperm, and we dont have room for imperm veiler AND mourner). Veiler is completely dead under shifter, and in my case (Im maining shifter in tenpai), the mourner life point burn can help mitigate tenpai's main issue under shifter aka the damage output. I guess the counter argument would be that if you open shifter their turn is probably over anyway and you can save the veiler for a potential turn 3/4
can I play imperm and/or ash without fully commiting to a hand trap approach? Or do I have to play at least 15 Hand traps to justify hand traps at all?
Imperm is fine even with low ht count because it doubles as a board breaker, ash is probably not worth unless you are on 12+ ht... Droll and shifter are the best solo hts
Happy that I only play locals for the next 2-3 months. Best of luck during the NAWCQ. ^^ Would mostly agree with your list, you explained your choices & reasoning in a way that's easy to understand. Only things where I have different belly feelings are: - Nib bc only really good when paired with specifically Veiler or Imperm → less good imo → I just don't like Nib too much with Tenpai, Yubel & Stun around - Droll bc kills a lot of rogue & paired with one negate handtrap it can already be a turn ender → better imo → stops Runick strats, Gimmick FTK, seems good against Yubel strats, ... → kills plants? maybe?? (I know, EU problem only, but still) - board breakers feel a bit similar to handtraps rn in terms of how many you need to have to play the game → maybe droplet is enough, if you have very good discards for it, but anything else into either SE or Yubel Findsmith does not cut it → even dark ruler + evenly don't do the job against the full Yubel Fiendsmith endboard → sooo for a board breaker only approach I'd say droplet is to be rated higher then the others & you'd still need to play 12+bb → don't like Book of Eclipse, since it can be stopped by Ash - personal bias: I like the chicken nugget → weirdly working tech card vs branded & full boards, which we'll see all over the place, since all the best decks now play with the goal of a plant size endboard in mind → for most decks the nuggets are still not worth giving up your normal summon I feel (maybe it's something to be considered for decks like Kashtira, if they happen to not open Shifter) Kashtira Unicorn would be interesting, since there are so many one-offs in the extra decks rn.
My message is going to be a wall and I hope I explain this correctly. Many fiendsmith/snake eye decks run a trap especially in SD like skill drain to add another layer of interruption to their field going 1st. But those traps historically when paired with an Omni negate that doesn't directly respond to a card being activated ( borreload for example had to directly respond to a card being activated but cards like zombiestein or fiendsmith desirae don't have to directly respond to a card, they just have a quick effect: negate text) can facilitate negating dark ruler. The way it works is as follows: Chain link 1 is Dark Ruler Chain link 2the opponent activates a trap card Chain link 3, because the opp directly chained a trap to drnm,, now the opp can activate an effect like Desirae's to quick effect negate it. Hope I made it clear.😅
floodgates... lingering or not... are not the problem, they are the solution and what is good in the world in this culture of refusing to make balanced decks and demanding anything that breaks your "summon entire deck and side deck on turn one with 5 omni negate" combo to be banned, it's really sad

Never have we seen a tier 0 format where there's a clear and toxic division between the supposed pros and pariahs that post various vids about Fiendsmith, handtraps etc (and can subsequently afford them), and the rest of the community especially those that work with limited resources and unbridled creativity to make their decks and work with what they have while also not being able to afford the more desirable engines due to their sky high rarity. Granted there have been other formats where we have seen similar divides but tone deaf videos like this one and others just serve to build even more frustration about the current state of the game where having sponsorships, connections, and plenty of subscriber money helps you get into meta. Of course, folks like Jesse Kotton will never admit it, and prefer to ride with the sttaus quo even as the price of a deck rises to the point where it's in the same league as some household appliances. - Nib bc only really good when paired with specifically Veiler or Imperm → less good imo
→ I just don't like Nib too much with Tenpai, Yubel & Stun around
- Droll bc kills a lot of rogue & paired with one negate handtrap it can already be a turn ender → better imo
→ stops Runick strats, Gimmick FTK, seems good against Yubel strats, ...
→ kills plants? maybe?? (I know, EU problem only, but still)
- board breakers feel a bit similar to handtraps rn in terms of how many you need to have to play the game
→ maybe droplet is enough, if you have very good discards for it, but anything else into either SE or Yubel Findsmith does not cut it
→ even dark ruler + evenly don't do the job against the full Yubel Fiendsmith endboard
→ sooo for a board breaker only approach I'd say droplet is to be rated higher then the others & you'd still need to play 12+bb
→ don't like Book of Eclipse, since it can be stopped by Ash
- personal bias: I like the chicken nugget → weirdly working tech card vs branded & full boards, which we'll see all over the place,
since all the best decks now play with the goal of a plant size endboard in mind
→ for most decks the nuggets are still not worth giving up your normal summon I feel
(maybe it's something to be considered for decks like Kashtira, if they happen to not open Shifter)
Kashtira Unicorn would be interesting, since there are so many one-offs in the extra decks rn.
What about Gnomaterial against Fiendsmith when they make the Closed world link 2 ?
Isnt good bro, imperm do the same Job ou sequentiia
@@enzoattanansio9626 yeah but it would be funny to lock them with forward facing link arrows.
@@FURNACE_YGO he just cost with Oak or ash
Where is the schwarzchild infinity dragon bro I need that in my galaxy deck
Where did you get this cool hoodie Jesse?
How can that fiendsmith card negate dark ruler no more? Monster cant respond to it.
The way it works is as follows:
Chain link 1 is Dark Ruler
Chain link 2the opponent activates a trap card
Chain link 3, because the opp directly chained a trap to drnm,, now the opp can activate an effect like Desirae's to quick effect negate it.
Hope I made it clear.😅
@christheod8035 wow that's actually crazy I didn't realize you could do that thanks
Take a shot how many times he says Fiendsmith
Droll casually not even mentioned
It's literally the first card in the playable side staples
@@benshiro5008 Damn I watched the whole thing twice looking for droll and still somehow missed it, yugioh players man
reaper is good in the side deck given the amount of variants and crossover of engines between the top contending decks.
I'm still maining thrust to set double cross in case the shit hits the fan lmao
I enjoyed the video, but I say this as an outsider. I've checked out of this format.
Extra deck stables? Or am i trippin
Droll main deck staple. Fiendsmith snake-eye dead after that
He dont Dead, if hé play correctly, but he cant full combo its a REEALLY huge card for this format yes
@@enzoattanansio9626 Discard Engraver for Tract, activate Droll. Can’t use Tract, can’t search off Ash or Poplar
@@brendanguymer3885 Snake eye player start with there engine
So if hé start with fiendsmith, he dont have acces to Exceel or diabel
Is that Abyssal Designstor PauseChamp
all these new videos Jesse but where is game 3 with you and sam with lightsworn and tenpai
Nice vid
floodgates... lingering or not... are not the problem, they are the solution and what is good in the world in this culture of refusing to make balanced decks and demanding anything that breaks your "summon entire deck and side deck on turn one with 5 omni negate" combo to be banned, it's really sad
What about vesper girsu?
I just love how super poly is on no one’s radar
26:30 he mentions it.
@@VanFactor i suspect the subtext here is that kam suggests super poly is being slept on
What about Soul Release?
Whats the template for this? 😅
Why have snake eyes haven’t been hit on the ban list yet
So, when is WC?
I SAW THAT CLICKBAIT JESSE!!!
Can u make a good list for a magikey deck?
That shit rest of the duel that trap card is gabargio
i disagree with that staples, i dont think drawing 4 handtraps including nibiru would do a thing, they are just going to continue playing after that.
Yeah, Nibiru its garbadge next format
@@enzoattanansio9626 yep, fiendsmith into D/D/D ceasar, apolousa, yubel into Ghost of yubel, the 2 top decks have access to prevent nibiru and after you nib them they can still play.
The other thing that Jesse Kotton in particular will never do is accept a fair and honest challenge. Yes, I have been laying the challenge out for a few months now in prior comments and I'll do it here once more, if your such a good deck builder, advice giver etc prove it, hop over the border into Michigan and duel me I'll be waiting and we'll see just how good you are in a fair and honest match
WHAT IS THIS? NO COSMIC HORROR KURIBOH!? THIS LIST IS NO GOOD!!! Just kidding. I'm always learning more from Jesse's though process.
lol 😂 the board breakers part didn’t age well
If somehow some way ftks become a real real thing. Do we play the cherries for once lol
Where is raigeki in this list?
yea just play breakers and try to have fun. these handtrap wars are AWFUL
Fiendsmith makes nibiru so useless.
Where's Gnomaterial?!
Gnomaterial?
For ?
@@enzoattanansio9626 moor mirror link 2 ?
@@yusufnisar100 juste imperm on sequentiia ?
@@enzoattanansio9626 my thing is, your gonna need more than 1 handtrap against any fiendsmith deck that you want to stop, and no one has really spoke about gnomaterial and it was just something different that players can chuck into alongside your other hand traps.
@@yusufnisar100 bro, im soory but yeah 1 handtrap dont stop Fiendsmith stuff, but 2 dont help anymore. Like, if your open Diabel + Snake eye Ash, your need 3 handtraps or he full combo, otherwise if hé have open bonfire or fiendsmith Monster hé Can turn around 3 ht liké mourner imperm veiler Ash etc. Gnom help only going 2nd and dosnt stop Snake eye combo, gnom its just Bad card overall he trade like sti isnt worth it to play it, btw Nibiru its the most garbadge handtrap for this format, prefer play boardbreak like droplet, droll its really good too, bcs whatever he have open, your drasticly reduce the end board

Where’s Dinomorphia?………
Never sée a tierlist garbadge liké that Wow, go play handtrap and get stomped by SE fiendsmith, Ghost ogre ans Nibiru its terrible for thé next format. DOMINUS purge ?? Juste why, droplet Shifter its the best Staple main deck 100% so many mistake !!!

Yes, this tierlist IS garbadge, Nibiru have no impact on 80% of this format
