Lovely Chris, I've not been to any of these and probably never will so enjoyed watching what I missed. Did spot Rosie at Woody Bay too. Hope you're both well. Best Wishes, Brian.
Yes both well Brian, thank goodness. What about a small camper van you could travel to all these railways, lovely area at L&B...No cab rides for Rosie on this compilation but watch this space.....Keep well Brian..Best wishes Chris
Las time i went to the L & B there was hardly anything there how they have come along ! Great views from all the Railways too nice selection Chris keep safe Graham
Thanks Graham. The L&B are in the process of extending the line, they have done a lot of work to bridges, plus clearing the track bed of vegetation, but I don't think I will see it in my time....Keep well, keep safe....Best wishes Chris
It's a good one. They are still planning on extending the track more, they have done a lot of work towards it like rebuilding bridges, clearing trees/vegetation,but I don't think I will ever see it finished......Regards Chris
@@wooltman As an L&B volunteer I sometimes think the same. Unfortunately things haven't progressed as quickly as originally envisaged. The TWO should go in this year so if that gets approval then hopefully things will move a little quicker although some planning requirements still make it a difficult task.
@@ianwallis7703 By how much will it be extended Ian? They would need a level crossing as well just beyond the present end of the line wouldn't they, that could hold things up.
@@wooltman We're looking at another 4 1/2 miles down to Wistlandpound reservoir. No level crossings needed - the line goes under all the roads including the one at Killington Lane where the current terminus is. New bridge required and it has to be 44 ton mgw because of the lorries which use the lane so not cheap. The line dives down underneath the lane here. I believe there was only ever one level crossing on the entire route and that was at Barnstaple.
@@ianwallis7703 Will the 4 1/2 miles be layed in one extension? Sorry I did'n't know that the railway went under all the roads,I was looking at the way the railway went towards the road at Killington Lane. What side of the railway do you work on? Such a shame it's such a long way for us to come down to your railway.
Absolutely stunning footage Chris...Every one very different, but all very enjoyable to watch...Best wishes....Bob
We get about a bit don't we Bob,sadly not this year.....Best wishes Chris
Thanks once again Chris, I can’t help thinking what great film sets some of these railways would make.🚂
I never thought of them like that, but your right. The Threlkeld Mining Museum would be ideal.....Regards Chris
I think this train goes to Fairy Land
No fairies on this railway, there might be a few ghosts of the old miners though!
