- Got to try out the 2018 Beta cross trainer!! it was a really fun bike and I really wish I would have been able to learn on something like this. excellent bike for starting out or to take on some pretty gnarly terrain!

This is the bike I want to get when I retire in a few years. I used to ride a lot in Washington state and love really gnarly trails. Spent a lot of time on KDX-200's back in the 80's. I'm hoping to travel with a dirt bike and explore. I am almost 57, but very athletic. and mountain bike a lot. Not really your typical guy approaching 60 since I can still drop and do 50 push ups rather easily, so I hope to still be in good shape when I retire. I love light weight bikes and lots of torque, so this should fit the bill. I used to torment my friend on his Husky 500CR, with my little 200. You don't need massive power in the woods. Technique and traction play huge parts.
Great review! They are a hoot! If you're like me, I thought to myself "If all I rode was tight woods, this would be my bike". Makes life easy in the tight stuff.
firffighter haha yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking. I really would like to try the bike out on some really tough terrain and get a true feel for it tho
Very cool, really wanted either that bike or a 150xcw. Got a great deal on a 300xc from a buddy so now I have a beast that rides me through the trails!
SANDS78 haha you made the right choice in my opinion. Can’t beat the lug ability of the 300!
The Xtrainer makes anyone a better rider, what does that say about it? I'm seriously wondering if I should trade my KTM for it. Best stock bike for enduro ever built to my humble opinion.

Had to chuckle when you said you were jealous of kids learning on this type bike. You sound like a kid yourself. Get on an early 70's dirt bike and think of it as being state of the art. Time just marches on.. Maybe those kids you're talking about will complain to their kids about how bad the Betas were.. .. Don't get me wrong, I liked the review.....

I have a 2018 Beta Xtrainer, but the color scheme is different from the one that you test on these video.
This beta shows really nice traction.
Hey Kris, given that the Beta 200 is coming out with the new ZF suspension would you lean towards the Xtrainer or that for slow guy who likes riding up and down the rocks.
LostInPA I would go with the Xtrainer because it’s a 300 but out of the box they are very linear. It also sits a little lower and if your short like myself that’s a bonus

markoIam1 yes it is because I’m too big for it. My buddy who is 175 has no problem. I ordered the 48mm kit from Beta.
Coming from a klx250, 2 years later, what are your long term thoughts on the xtrainer.
My 2018 blew a main bearing at 10 miles

They come with 6 month standard warranties though. Can't really beat that
It is a good warranty and needs it however both my DRZ and DR comes with a one year warranty
So true about the riders of today vs. the old iron we cut our teeth on. Lol, man...so true.
