Green Bay vs. Chicago "Sunday Night Massacre" (2014 Week 10) Green Bay's Greatest Games

- The 5-3 Packers, coming off a bye, take on their division rival Chicago Bears in a Sunday Night matchup in Week 10 of the 2014 season. Green Bay got off to a blistering hot start as Aaron Rodgers threw 6 touchdown passes in the first half alone, giving Green Bay a 42-0 halftime lead that would culminate in a 55-14 demolition by the end of the night.
This game came down to the last 42 minutes
When Rodgers was still a player before he decided to become a performer.
@Bill incredibly salty bears fan spotted
Bill I do not think that word means what you think it means.
@@bill2953 huh? 🤦🏿♂️
@@smokephisoundsllc That was 5 months ago. Now he's got it going on with Adams and he's not pouting after a 3 and out.
just wish Rodgers played the whole game, wouldve thrown 9 TDs, among other NFL records
Daniel Chachanashvili yes but as much as I like to see the bears get curb stomped it would just be to hard to watch if he kept on going😂😂
He has integrity, I don't think he cares about records
True.
@@danteherndon1094 Don't fool yourself. Rodgers cares about records... especially having the lowest INT PCT. and all-time best QB Rating. They all want a great legacy.
They won, that's good enough
I miss Sam Shields and Micah Hyde
johnstjohn1987 hopefully we wont miss them in a few years under pettine
johnstjohn1987 I bet u miss the bears being bad too😈😈
@panda44r Talk to em

I was at this game! My first Packer game in Lambeau with my dad, and they blow out the Bears. What a great night that was.
No you weren't!
Same!
Not true!
Believe what you want
Krendler How did you like the game? My guess is that you had a ball at Lambeau Field. BTW, do you know the ticket prices for a Packers home game? My guess is that it's much better at a Packers home game than at a Bears home game. And I'm a Bears fan no less! How extraordinary. Seems to me it's cheaper in Green Bay and in Wisconsin than in Chicago and in Illinois.
I watched this game at a Buffalo Wild Wings, at around halftime, a Bears fan ripped off his Jay Cutler jersey, took it outside and laid it out on the ground, pulled his motorcycle over it, and peeled out on top of it.
Just as all Bears merchandise should be handled.
Too bad he couldn't do that to Cutler personally.
@@pretorious700 nah, Jay Cutler is the best thing to ever happen to the Green Bay Packers
@@wiskyr6510 Cutler was the GOAT for the Packers.
God I love this country
Go Pack Go!!!!
I do miss Cutler. He was 3rd, in TD passes to the Pack, after Favre and Rodgers.
😂😂😂
I had a Jay Cuntler number 6 packer Jersey, because every time we played him he was our best player on the field.
I really didn’t like Cutler. He never beat Green Bay.
@@j_dragz Neither did Justin Fields.
When the Bears fans talk shit, just remember the Packers sat their QB and took a field goal in front of the posts when they could have strolled in again, all to show respect and not run up the score on a defeated opponent. They could have scored 80 that day and Rodgers would have broken every record going. Say what you want about the Packers rivalry but they are a proper franchise who have done a lot for the game of football. They conduct themselves properly.
Unlike Tony Tae
I can definitely agree. I think fans of every franchise are toxic sometimes, but the team is typically more respectful and classy.
Oh, that the Packers could have avenged that 61-7 game against the Bears from 1980-with the same score. At least get it to 62-14. Better still 62-7. (Had that Kick-Off Return For A Touchdown stopped, and they go for A Touchdown and Point After on that last drive.
I literally would never have done that as a head coach. First, it's the Bears, in Green Bay. If you can rub their nose in the mud, do it. Second, there are 60 minutes in an NFL game. It isn't high school or college; its pro sports. If you get blown out by 100 points it's your own fault.
JEFFERY BAUMANN typical to go back to the 80s, just like every beard fan
This game single-handedly ended Trestman's head coaching career
and now he's failing again in Tampa Bay with the XFL
His game with New England the same year the week before was another example
Randall Banks this aged well lmao
It should have ended McKaskey ownership
and I was so happy this happened after this season he was such a horrible coach
The 2014-2015 Packers were such a good team. They should’ve gone to the SuperBowl that year, but sadly we all know what happened. Amazing pass offense, a pretty good running game with Starks and Lacy, an underrated O-Line, and a defense that was better than anything that came after it. Let’s hope they can get Rodgers to the SupwerBowl again.
Yep the struggles in the red zone against the Seahawks doomed us.
@@hengineer A lot of things in that game doomed us, that's the problem.
Brandon Bostick doomed us!
@Vegas EMT You're right. But a lot of people forget the Packers were playing against the Legion of Boom. There's blame to go all around, but in the playoffs, you have to be pretty much perfect to get to the big game. Especially against a defense like that. That entire special team knew they had a chance to end the game and win the Superbowl right there. The Packers needed the most overlooked facet of the game to come through for them and they didn't get it done.
The offense did their job. Over 21 points in the playoffs. Both teams defense AND offense did their job. It came down to special teams in the end. And I know a lot of people point out "Oh well the defense should have just stopped the Seahawks in overtime". THAT'S bullshit. Games shouldn't be decided in overtime by the flip of a coin. The modern NFL has high-powered offenses, it's catered to offense more than ever and people want to argue it's a good idea to pit exhausted defenses against these offenses in overtime and give them the win if they score all because a coin flip decided who got the ball first? How's that decide which team is better?
Clearly, it wasn't the Seahawks, because they didn't run the ball. Lol. The Packers would have won that Superbowl, no sane person would deny that.
This team was great they were destined for another super bowl. Rodgers vs Brady. Can not comprehend how they blew that game against Seattle.
42-0 at the half. Packers were literally on pace to win 84-0.
It doesn't work that way, but thank you for the simple multiplication. No team would play the same in the second half as they did in the first half when they are up by that amount. Players are put on the bench, schemes change, defenses are less aggressive, etc. Also, opponents make halftime adjustments. Football isn't math. That is why you literally were off by 13 points by the Packers and 14 by the Bears.
@@jasondelvaux3036 chill out bro
@@jasondelvaux3036 I appreciate the analysis, but he said “on pace”, meaning that if they had continued playing the exact same way, they would have been up 84-0
some excellent math there
Packers were just playing on rookie mode
Wow how time flies. In this game Davante Adams was running special teams (0:31 bottom of the screen) and now he is the number one receiver for the Packers. Good for him
I remember when people wanted Devante out of Green Bay when he had the ankle injury the following year. I'm glad they kept him. I was one of the few that believe in him
And every single one of you were screaming for him to be cut during his sophomore season. Yet, it was Rodgers fucking up... Not Davante. Told yall...
@@johnathanmcintyre9492 Davante Adams was very much fucking up when he was younger lmao. had tons of drops and he admits it. but yes, he was hurt, and he improved! WR1 in the NFL now
@@SilhouetteLifter Rodgers was very much fucking up too though. But none of that got noticed. That's my point.
@@johnathanmcintyre9492 how was Aaron fucking up?
Julius strip-sacking his former quarterback, a punt that was blocked by the defender's foot before the punter touched it, and a Cutler pick-six after deflecting off of his lineman's face. This game truly had it all. Oh, and one of Cobb's most spectacular catches ever.
CodyHGaming I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like Peppers almost always had a big play against the Bears
5:40.
And as a Bears fan I overwhelmingly approve of your message. Seriously this was quite possibly the lowest point in the history of the Bears. If they wanted to the Packers might have scored 77 points or more. BTW are you a Packers fan? Just wondering.
No, Cobb’s most amazing catch was the Hail Mary against the Giants 🙌🏼
@@p.k.andkid4646 That didn't really reflect his athleticism as much tbh
Hayward should have never been let go.
Same with Hyde.
That following morning, two major newspapers in Chicago both had "Lambeau Bleep" as their front page title.
Killian Krummel For real?!?! That is hilarious! 🤣🤣
Halftime score... 42-0. Lovin' it!!
And we didn't blow that lead like the Bears did when they had a 20-0 halftime lead on us last season.
Should've been 7 TD passes in the half, but oh well. And 5 in the 2nd
Jordy Nelson is easily the most underrated WR of all time. Dude has some of the best hands but also extremely fast.
Facts. White Lightening! 🏃🏻 💨
3:52
Wasn’t just his speed but to change speed and direction
Shoulda been with the Packers to the end but you know, things happen.
Jordy didn't have actual speed, but he had football speed. He could cut, turn, and run at angles that allowed him to get past everyone.
I remember leaving the room for five minutes when Chicago scored their first touchdown and the first thing I asked was if the bears scored while Green Bay took a water break because damn this game was wrapped up before half time! Also, I miss seeing Cutler play for the bears, always confused about what team he played for.
Your confusion is understandable, Smokin' Jay threw 23 picks in 13 games against the Pack. He was a good QB too, but was never able to beat the Pack. He always looked intimidated when playing GB, they seriously got inside the dude's head.
" I Almost Feel Sorry For Marc Trestman He's a Good Man "..CHRIS COLLINGSWORTH
😂😂😂😂 Ima Bear Man but damn that was funny
If the first game that year between these teams was R-E-L-A-X from a Packer perspective, the rematch from a Bear perspective was B-R-U-H
6:39 GB cheerleader is pissed. lol.
I believe they beat Philly by putting up 50+ points the following week as well.
you are correct
Nicholas Manning there was also an Eagles massacre against the Bears in a Sunday Night game as well. 54-11. It was over after the 1st QTR.
Rodney White what year was that ?
Nicholas Manning I think 2014 or 2015. I remember watching it on Sunday Night on NBC.
Rodney White it was in 2013 buddy!! I just saw it
That same night my now ex-wife decided to tell me she was leaving me. That was a good night.
She didn't like to ride bikes...I heard that's why she dumped you..
3:43 = Jordy Nelson's finest play EVER. ..... and he didn't even touch the ball.
3:52 Nelson comes from practically nowhere doing 35mph, out runs the entirety of 2 teams to throw an awesome block.
All my boys running together, almost makes me wanna cry. Nelson, Adams, Cobb & Lacy💚💛
Who else is here after the raiders and chargers game?
This game was so frustrating in the second half!! LET HIM BREAK THE RECORD! Damnit, he has an entire half to throw ONE more and they couldn’t make it happen? CMon MAN!
Packers were never like that. Patriots are like that. When Packers are going to win they sit their QB and let 3rd strings play.
As good as Rodgers has been, Cutler has been the main reason that the Bears lost so many of those matchups. For some reason, no matter how good or how bad the Packer's defense was, they could always put pressure on Cutler and make him make big mistakes.
Lmaooooo 42-0 @ the half omg we need this version of my packers back yes it was against jay Cutler a.k.a i threw picks lol but the defense was hungry
The Bears defense looked like a midleschool defense
When the bears hire a nobody from the Canadian league as head coach, who knows nothing about football, you get blown out like this. I turned the game off at half time.
3:45 Al Michaels doing his best Joe Buck impression on the call
Number 82: Running with the ball
Clay Matthews: I’m about to end this mans whole career
Al Michaels sounded soooooo bored 🤣
Loved this game! Can you upload “4th & 8th”? Green Bay @ Chicago Week 17 2013. I can remember watching that game so vividly. When Rodgers threw that TD to Cobb I absolutely flipped! I’ve never been excited, watching football, not like that game.
Haven Todd I already have that one up. It has a music overlay because I was unable to find the full game, but I will consider a re upload if I can ever find the full game.

OberSports can you find 2012 at the Lions? That and this year vs the Cowboys is still 2 I want you to upload. But this game is great too. Fuck the Bears hahahahahaha
Ben Dvorak I’ve got the condensed version of 2012 Lions but I haven’t had luck finding 2017 Packers vs Cowboys
Ben Dvorak will be posting 2012 Lions as one of my next few uploads
this is the season that I really felt got away from us. Even more so than 2011 for some reason. I really thought we had a super bowl team in 2014.
Yes this one hurts more than the 2011/2016 & 2019 Losses combined! One onside recovery away from the big one🤦🏿♂️.
@@smokephisoundsllc 2016 and 2109 yall got beat by the better teams...

It only got better when we won in 2017 but that is such a short lived moment...still look back..
The owner of the Bears should've made each and every one of those players and coaches find their own transportation back to Chicago. I wouldn't of let a single one of them on the chartered flight after a gutless performance like that
1:16.... 🤦🏿♂️🙃.
It’s amazing how this guy went from catching ARs first of many TDs on a historic night, to ending ARs closest chance to get to another SB.
A responsible organization would have fired Marc Trestman immediately after this disasterous performance.
Nelson, cobb, young adams, lacy. We wouldve had another super bowl if it wasnt for bishop😅😪😪
What about the defense that couldn't stop Wilson in the last 5 minutes and overtime???
They are clearly the most culpable..
When you realize this was damn near 62-14.
Davante Adams out there on the opening kickoff coverage. Times have changed.
I think NBC lost half the viewers on TV by halftime
Man I miss this packers team. This was the year I became a packers fan and man was this team fun to watch. Shame they couldn’t win a ring. By far, the best year I had watching the packers
watching packers beat bears never gets old there is just so many to choose from throughout the decades
How scared do you think the ref was at 1:07? Rodgers damn near took his head off.
Damn jordy was fast!! Out running lacy.
I remember watching this game, and they kept flashing up stats and the Green Bay way of developing drafted players versus Chicago's reliance on free agency, trying to do something, anything to explain just how such a brutal assbeating could happen. After the first few minutes, it was just a sad game to watch and a cautionary tale for every team in the league.
But I was entertained.
I miss some of these names I’m hearing from this packers team!
So Packers had Sam Shields, Casey Hayward and Micah Hyde? All of which are have been Pro-Bowlers. WOW
The Chicago bears will win Superbowl fiftyfour this season get ready NFL and green Bay the bears are coming
By all means, if I wanted ANYONE to win the Super Bowl next year, Bears are my number 2, next to the Chiefs.
Sorry Jon, ain't gonna happen.
Rogers is a great quarterback, maybe the best and Cutler was great nothing. It is always sweet for this Bears fan to see the Bears beat the Packers under Rogers because when that happens we are beating the best. And the hopefully in 2019 we'll see it twice.
Welp happened alot last season
in 2017 when the packers were injured along with Rodgers the lions and bears beat up the packers really well and then claimed it was the end of the packers era..next season comes and the packers ass whoop both teams....so much for a new lions and bears era lol
Didn’t age well 🤣🤣
We could've made this WAY worse than it actually was lol. Not kidding you guys. Packers could have made it 70-0
games like this have almost ruined football for us Packer fans. We got so used to seeing 28+ points at the half that anything under 20 feels like a disappointment. these years (2011-2014) were fun but extremely rare in the NFL.
This was doubtlessly my lowest point as a Bears fan given the expectations that year and watching them just completely shit the bed against the Packers
1:13 Rodgers throws a touchdown to 3rd string TE Brandon Bostick. Little did he know that Bostick would cost the Packers a Super Bowl 2 months later.
I was there that night, it was something to behold... rodgers and Nelson has their pre game ritual (ball spin), right in front of my seat... then rodgers looked up at me, pointed to me, then pointed to the 12 on his jersey (I was wearing my green rodgers jersey) and nodded... I yelled f*** yeah go kill em! He turned and ran to the sidelines... he sure killed em he still owns em
Should have won the super bowl that season. Damn you Bostic
I cannot believe as a Bears fan I watched every minute...
I stopped watching after the first quarter
When the Packers play the Bears, about 8 million bung holes pucker up.
*You can't blame Cutler for this loss, he needed better offensive team and catchers even though the bears still would have lost against Aaron Rogers!!*
GB vs bears since 1992 has been a massacre. 44 wins for Gb and 14 for da Bears. OUCH
and Cutler was one of the best QB's in Packers history, 2-11 vs GB. That's absurd when his record outside GB is 72-68.
Series before Favre got to Green Bay in 1992 80-57-6 Bears
Now in 2022
105-95-6 Packers
Packers were just playing on rookie mode
I'm sorry, but the game the day after Brett Favre's dad died was the greatest game vs. the Raiders.
wish ar12 had more then 1 ring....doesn't make sense he doesn't have more
Wow Rodgers could have had 7 TD! Ownage!!
Jay Cutler used to be one of my favorite Green Bay Packers players!
This game sums up Cutlers career 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Game could have easily been 70-14
I had both Arron and Jordy on my fantasy team that night
The funniest part of this game to me is davante adams playing special teams
"They know how to bundle up here at Lambeau...it's 36 degrees and overcast."
Not even all that cold. But if you asked 'Bama to play in those conditions they'd crumple like a Ford Pinto.
I am a Packer fan and I miss our MVP, Jay Cutler.
Dude Looking at these 2010-2016 games for the packers It feel like it was just yesterday watching these games. Like this game I remember I had to go school the next day but I watch this game and saw the packers lead 42-0 at the half. I went to bed know they are going to win. Next morning I saw the score 55-14. I wish I can go back in time and see that day.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much! Best game ever! Sometimes a good blow out can be as entertaining as a close game, and lucky for us, it was on the Packers side! Between my internet buddies, the game itself, and the aftermath, my body was hurting from so much laughter. It was bad enough for the Bears, but keep this in mind, compared to any other blowout, this just had legendary bad moments for the Bears compared to our other victims of blowouts.
1. the "blocked punt" had Jarrett Boykin kick the ball before the punter, never happened before or since
2. Matt Flynn was put in halfway through Quarter 3, whereas in most other games the back up comes in late in the 4th quarter to finish up.
3. Cutler's pick 6 throw hit Kyle Long's helmet right into Heyward's arms, and it went 82 yards.
4. Bears had multiple defenses played during Jordy's 70+ yard TD catch.
5. the big stuff by CM3 on Chris Williams
6. Eddy Lacy's screen for TD
I have seen other blowout games over the years, but none were as entertaining as that, I look at other blowouts including the 55-7 victory over the Jake Locker led Titans, not as entertaining as not a single TD pass was over 50 yards and pick 6's. The 2011 blowouts, just A-Rod being a bad man, the MN blowout that same season didn't have that same laugher feel. I will forever remember this one, as my personal favorite game ever.
frenchfrey65 I watched that Titans blowout in person at Lambeau Field. It was awesome, and this game live on tv. You’re right this one was epic!
yah I remember that blocked punt. It was weird when watching cause you never saw the ball suddenly bounce or make that sound. Never before or since in all my years watching football have I remembered seeing it happen like that. Remember being on an online chat board on espn when it happened and one guy responded lol bears are the keystone cops of the NFL

Had the running back held on to the ball, probably 49-0 halftime, possibly 7 touchdown passes
