There are two teams in La Liga which I especially like, respect and root for. One is Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao is another one. It was a spectacular confrontation indeed.
As a Barca fan I miss Valverde, top coach, till this day I don’t know why we sacked him. Happy that Altetic are doing good as well, always had a soft spot for them, traditional club with great fans and values, I hope they make champions league football.
Back then when Messi was on the team, he was the one calling the shots not Valverde. If he wasn't happy with the coach/manager, he had the ability to fire him. This is coming from the business operations manager when I was visiting Barca as part of a business/school trip for my business degree. What I am saying is when one player is the golden goose, the coach is just a role without power.
Athletic are having an impressive season , always maintains the tradition of the Basque players, and I love them because they are believing in it until the end without having spent a cent.
Bro ?? Alex Berenguer is an andalusian player born in Pampalona (the City of football club Ossasuna) and Bilbao spent 12 million to buy him in 2020 . So much for the tradition of basque players. One other thing, not spending is not thé same thing as not signing . Barcelona didn't spend anything but they did sign 2 World class players Joao Cancelo and Félix on Loan and lots of others on free transfers

Victoria sufrida. Uno de los mejores partidos de la temporada, con otra increíble exhibición de los locales que siguen fortaleciendo su casa, ante un equipo visitante que pese a la derrota, hizo un mejor partido que el anterior.
El Athletic dominó con claridad la primera parte, y manteniendo la intensidad en la segunda parte, tener por mucho menos tiempo el balón no le impidió tener las ocasiones más claras del juego y un mejor despliegue en el campo. El Girona encontró su mejor versión en la segunda parte, finalmente teniendo opciones a puerta, viniendo de atrás para empatar de forma parcial en dos ocasiones, sin embargo, tras ambos goles no volvió a ser capaz de superar el arco de Unai que volvió a ser protagonista, tapando todo en la recta final del juego para que el Athletic confirme su victoria 14 de la temporada, suma siete victorias al hilo de local y extiende aún más su invicto (suma 12 jornadas seguidas sin caer en casa) y se consolida aún más en el quinto lugar (ahora está con +9 puntos sobre la Real Sociedad que es sexta). Mientras que el Girona consumó su tercera derrota, y pierde una oportunidad única de recortar en puntos al Real Madrid en busca de recuperar el liderato, pero sin duda, fue un mejor partido a comparación de la visita anterior (contra el mismo líder), las opciones del título están intactas. Qué golazo de Iñaki! 🙌🔥
