Louis hiew Not necessarily. The go pro is attached by a few screws and is not supposed to be taken off. The other cameras are meant to be like that. They are more sturdy and is better built. I have 5 cameras with pop up screens and I am not good with taking care of them. I’ve dropped them many times and not one has broke soooo....

Unfortunately, Not all GoPro are able to change their casing. GoPro hero+lcd happened to be one of them. There is no way to change the casing due to the fact that the case is part of the mould that holds all the circuit board together

HDMI output is not an option on that GoPro, if you truely want HDMI output, I suggest getting a GoPro hero 4black, that gives you an option for extra battery pack and after market flip out screen as well as mic input. You can do soooo much more with GoPro hero 4,5,6,7,8

Yes, that you can do, in the box that it comes with, there should be a back cover that still allows screen access & charging port access.
But, if you are planning to use GoPro intensively. I would advise to invest in at least a GoPro hero 4 black. Worth every penny

They did! On the hero 8, but up until now, we are still waiting for it to come out as an separate attachment which cost USD$199

Yup! I was thinking to add in a DIY mic input but that would compromise the water proof feature
