Thanks Travis! This is exactly the problem I had, after purchasing INJ on Coinbase. I followed all the steps, and from Injective Hub, it was a simple transfer to my Leap/INJ wallet. My total ETH fees for the movement were about $5.50 today. I am just now getting into the Cosmos hub, and I agree, getting INJ, from the Cosmos side, with ATOM swap would have been much easier. Lesson learned, ETH spent!
@lawsonowen565 hello and yes, it is WAY easier to go the Cosmos route and just swap the ATOM...and way cheaper. Yeah, the ETH fees are simply ridiculous given all the other alternatives that exist. Glad the video helped you out, thanks for stopping by and all the best!!! Cheers, Travis
The video content is very interesting! I am a little confused: someone sent me a usdt and I have the recovery phrase. ----------- How do I extract them?
Definitely not a tax guru (have to say/stress that), but yes, it can be. My understanding is that in the states the way it works is that it is the delta in value that is taxed (again, totally not a tax guy so could be wrong). The way it was explained to me is that, for example, you buy $100 in ATOM at $10 each and swap that for $100 in INJ, there is no delta in value so nothing to tax because you did it right away and the ATOM didn't appreciate. However, if you buy the ATOM, sit on it and let's say it goes to $30 each ATOM, then there is $200 in profit that, when you go to do the swap you have $200 in taxable activity. Again, and I can't stress this enough :-) , definitely check with your tax guy who I am sure will have the definitive answer for your country...and if different that what I describe, I would be curious to know. My guess is even in the end, it is cheapter than those Ethereum fees...LOL. Thanks again for stopping by and all the best! Cheers, Travis
Thank you, this was so great info. One question, so do I have to move the Inj to the inj hub and then to kepler in order for me to move to Hydro protocol? Please help, I have been so frustrated with this process. I wanted to get hydro Thank you in advance.
Hello, @SandyKim9350 and I have my INJ in my Keplr wallet and that is where I am able to see it on both the INJ HUB as well as the Hydro site. However, it looks like you can connect your MetaMask wallet as well so you probably don't have to have it in the Keplr wallet. That said, in my opinion the Hydro site has launched way too early without all of the functionality available. There is no swap feature yet (listed as coming soon), the Liquid Staking rewards are INJ, not HDRO, the Farm+Boost is "coming soon", the 'Auto Compound' is paying rewards in INJ, and then pools, governance, and LSD-Fi are all "coming soon". I don't see a way to swap for HDRO via a swap (since their site doesn't have that functionality yet) and I don't see a way to get HDRO via the INJ HUB and I even looked at the Helix App. In fact, in looking over the 'Farm' link on the left side of the app, the only way to get HDRO is to Liquid Stake INJ on the Hydro site, then, go to the 'Farm' link and farm that hINJ to earn "POINT" which they say you will get 1:1 HDRO for "POINT" once that is available - so if you earn 10 POINT, you would get 10 HDRO whenever they are ready. I did this all with the INJ in my Keplr wallet and again, it does look like you can use your MetaMask wallet as well so you probably don't have to have your INJ in your Keplr wallet but that is how I did it. Hope this helps and after digging into this, I really feel that they launched way too early. Cheers, Travis
In fact, I just confirmed this in their Discord group. You cannot get HDRO right now...you have to liquid stake your INJ on their site, then take the resulting hINJ and farm that while earning "POINT" and then at some point in the future they say you will get HDRO 1:1 for all the POINT you earn. Hope this helps! Cheers, Travis
@TravisBonfigli thank you so much. So I will go to Inj hub in Meta mask then get the . I wasn't sure if I had to move it to Kepler. So it is clear now. Thank you so much. Awesome 👌
Any idea why the site didn’t give me the option to transfer my injective to the hub after I approved the spending cap on metamask? The gas fees were taken from my account but the site just prompts me to approve the txn again
Sorry, im new in this crypto world, i have a question, what are the benefits from this, cant you just transfer crypto from your metamask wallet to another wallet directly? Or does Injective has another use?
Hello, @ronaldochavez6142 and totally no worries on being new to crypto! Your question is a very common one. So you can think of it like this: Injective tokens "live" on different blockchains. One of those blockchains is their native chain and the other is on the Ethereum chain (we call these ERC-20 tokens). Lots of people are buying Injective on Coinbase and those tokens are the Ethereum ERC-20 tokens and let's say you wanted to stake those tokens on the "native" Injective blockchain (you would do this here: hub.injective.network/staking/ ). Staking allows you to earn Injective based on the amount you stake and the rewards are more Injective tokens. You can't do that with ERC-20 Injective tokens that you hold on Coinbase. One way to get those tokens to the Injective chain is to bridge them over from the Ethereum blockchain to the native Injective chain and that is what this video is addressing. How to "bridge" your Injective tokens over from the Ethereum blockchain to the native Injective chain. Hope this helps and welcome to the cryptoverse! :-) Thanks for stopping by and all the best of luck! Cheers, Travis
Hello @ericsmith9046 and I am not familiar with how that would work. Would love to know how more about that 3rd party address if you have time. Thanks for stopping by! Cheers, Travis
I tried sending to injective address and coinbase didn't recognize it. I tried the bridge feature in Metamask and it didn't show the Injective network. :-( 😞
@tods794 thanks so much for the kind words and hope this helps you out! Definitely a popular question and wanted to make sure I showed how to do it and talked about alternative (read: way cheaper) approaches. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy! Cheers, Travis
Hello, @vygen - where are you sending the INJ from? If it is from Coinbase, then yes, you would send it to your MetaMask wallet using the wallet's Ethereum address. Hope this helps! Cheers, Travis
@@TravisBonfigli I finally sorted all of this out last night. Your video helped a lot. Yes, it was the Ethereum address. That is what scared me before, when I was taking it out of MEXC. I wanted my SEI* token and the address was a mismatch. Working through Coinhall the first time cost a lot of fees and heartache but I think doing it the hard way helps in the long run. Pretty important to have multiple strategies to make trades and get your money out when the bull run starts. Things are going to crash left and right. That is my primary concern, so I really want to sort of train on crypto as quickly as possible. It's one thing to buy the token, it's another to get to the exchange it dump it when shit is going crazy and everything is frozen. Coinhall is already pretty slow at times. Hopefully when I go to trade these tokens it is on Coinbase and not Coinhall. To Valhalla. 💀

Thanks! This was very useful. I'll be swapping Atom from now on. Although I've read swapping is a taxable event. Do you have any input on that?

Thanks very much for the help just what I needed 👍
How can I move it to Trezor from an exchange with using INJ chain instead of ERC20 to avoid high fees?
Great video and explanation.

Can’t connect metamask to injective hub every time i try it brings me to the App Store but i already have metamask downloaded
Couldn't you just bridge it directly to Keplr using the third party address?
