- What cards do you think are worth buying and investing in within the current pokemon tcg climate? I think there is opportunity everywhere, and those ahead of the curve will make out like kings in the next few years. These are some of my personal picks for modern! LMK your take in the comments !

Dude, please keep this train rolling with the videos about Pokemon singles I've been looking for someone who talks about singles this much and you're awesome for doing so! Everyone else just talks about sealed product with little passion for the hobby or the art of the cards. Really glad I found your channel.
So nice to hear you repping scarlet and violet. SV is the reason I am here after buying violet on a whim last year as the first pokemon game I’d played since like og diamond (I’m not counting let’s go as that’s a remake lol). Playing the game led me to buying a booster pack to “relive the childhood magic” and I pulled a terra arcanine full art and thought wtf pokemon is mad now. Then I found out about 151 and I was obsessed. Now I’ve been to three card shows since November and it’s become such a huge part of my life!
We are absolutely SPOILED by the new generation card arts. They are just amazing! And so overlooked... incredible. I am a collector only so art is prime goal. Quite looking forward to how this gen will evolve in medium and long term just for the sheer force of its art.
Something that is overlooked lately also are the duo / trios cards like the Ralts > Gardevoir story in SV Base, Gimmighoul + Gholdengo in PAR, Deerling + Sawsbuck in TER. How freaking awesome those concepts and arts are! I'd be really curious to see how those evolve as well, 'cause I am an hardcore fan.
Also, even if I lived OG gen 1, god I love all new pokemons! Give me more please.

The format is too widescreen to view well on UA-cam. Too much white space, presents difficulties when trying to view what you are presenting.
yes you’re right. I record on an ultra wide monitor, and this video I just framed it to its standard proportions. I addressed it and should be better in all videos since!
I wholly believe that S&V era cards will have a huge resurgence once Gen Z/Gen Alpha have expendable income,.Base Set blew up when us millenials reached that point. One day, Gen Z/Gen Alpha will have nostalgia for this massive Pokemon era because they're kids now. S&V is their memory set. They just don't realize it yet.

I pulled a Boss’s Orders card last week and it had the most perfect crimp I’ve ever seen on a card. I was worried when I saw the pack was not sealed after I opened the sleeve but was totally happy with that pull….
gen 5 is such a sleeper hit and i love it 😝
Hey man, loved the video. One thing though I saw was the japanese 151 box you suggested was without shrink wrap which you shouldn't be recommending. It is hard for most people to know if it's been tampered with until it's too late. For collecting, and even for opening, the shrink wrap is a must if buying from someone you don't know.
you’re totally right. i didn’t realize till rewatching a few days ago that the 2nd listing pulled up for a cheaper price said it was w/o the shrink wrap which i would never endorse or recommend. Appreciate you pointing that out and leaving a comment 🤝

You should do a video on XY like this, most UA-camrs talking about SWSH so would be nice to listen to something refreshing haha

Interesting takes. I agree that scarlet and violet is super underrated and every set that’s come out is better then it’s comparable set in the previous 2 generations. One suggestion, change the aspect on your screen or recording, I’m watching on my phone like most people probably are and I can’t see any of the cards you are pulling up. Just subscribed. Keep making cool content !
thank you so much for the feedback!! And i will look into the aspect ratio of the screen - it’s 4K on an ultra wide monitor so i think thats why it looks a bit distorted/long. It does make the cards look smaller too so i want to fix that as well. On the bright side the zoom should be immensely clear on the video due to the max resolution.

Undoubtedly one of the best sets ever. I wouldn’t say “hit rates” were as good as people say it is (just for top 3 cards) , I just think there is literally that many good cards in the box that makes it appear to be the easiest pull rates. I’ve only hit one mewtwo (off center) and never pulled the giratina. Probably opened around 500-600 packs. 👍

Idk I do agree that evolved is a sleeper but honestly it's 110 a box already basically battle styles even has sleepy t tar and some others it's around 110 and its probably less hated on but honestly I think silver tempest is the play if you get it for 120 a box but personally I would be buying lost or at 160 right now if you can find it for that I really think is the main play right now
I wonder if Pokemon is gonna come up with a new gimmick for the second half of SV similar to trainer gallery or tag team. I think once those come the hype for SV will be high
Dont sleep on holo energy. Crown zenith texture energy and prize series 3 energy are awesome and will always be viable in the tcg.

I was thinking about buying a lot of CZ but decided to put most my extra funds into Paldea evolved. I’m up to 9 sealed booster box cases. (Yes 54 booster boxes total).
that’s baller dude. I think that’ll be really fun to watch appreciate over the next few years. needing to add a few cases to my collection myself!!
@@SuperChaseYT yeah for sure! First 4 cases I picked up at $520 each but had to pay $600 each for my last 5 I got. Hopefully they don’t restock but if they do I’ll just buy a couple more. Don’t want to spend over $100 a box.
Like you said people “hate on current sets” I picked up fusion strike booster boxes at $80 each and evolving skies at $90 each back in 2021. Most People were too focused on the past sets. And look at them now. All of a sudden fusion strike is an amazing set with BB being over $200 each now.

I think you’re spot on. All eyes on SW&SH at the moment, so a lot of good moves to be made in S&V right now. So many good looking cards I want to pick up right now haha
fr , lots opportunity in the air while SW&SH still holds peoples attention. there is just an endless amount of peak out there and SV era has been heavy hitting from base.
i recently got back to pokemon to update my collection. first thing i did was buy 3 of the giratinas at psa 10 for under $800 each which are now going for 1k even before i got them delivered. I cant tell if im getting back in at a good or bad time with how crazy everything is spiking. prices arent making any sense when chase cards are going under 1/2 for raw vs 10 graded. i saw that vintage plummeted after the covid spike so thats healthy.
tbh i looked around in S&V but everything looks ugly to me. i was drawn to S&S immediately. only thing i felt inclined to pick up was the SIR black charizard from paldean fates.
i did preorder 3 of the masquerade BBs, but i kinda half regret it. outside of some really good looking ARs, theres nothing high rarity i care about inside. probably just gonna sit on sealed.

you’d be surprised. give sets a few years and they really start to disappear. people are always tryna crack packs and youtubers opening them as a business model inherently diminishes supply. it helps long term trends fs

@@SuperChaseYT modern won't ever disappear as the print runs are massive and people keep everything in perfect condition, investing in modern is literally stupid, but do whatever you want with your money guys
@@daviddelpuertomartin8222Modern still competes with vintage easy, more new people coming into the hobby are buying modern cards. Prices speak for themselves on individual cards, why are the top 10 alts at the same level as a good chunk of slabbed vintage
