    100% did not have that killer instinct first fumble should have marched down field for TD then the dropped TD pass =14-6 halftime lead shoulda been 28-6 by then.

    Back in the Cotton Speyer days they ran the end around with great success, sometimes with long distance as the UCLA game.

    i counted 5 drives that should’ve been touchdowns but were either fumbles, dropped passes, holdings, or coaching mistakes. the score should’ve been 66-9 if texas just didn’t make any costly mistakes.
    i’m not asking for texas to make spectacular plays, i’m just asking for texas to limit their costly mistakes. Sark set a standard at Texas, and they did not meet that standard offensively this game.

    I thought the tackling was terrible for Texas. It had been a strength until this game.

    We did a good job stopping Michigans run game. It was a lack of effort defending the run game against Miss State. PK will get things right

      different offensive scheme...
      Michigan doesn't use the wide splits and receivers aligned wide to the sideline like Lebby does with the Briles offense which PK kept 2 safeties high to defend the deep shots that that alignment leaves your CBs vulnerable in.

      @robh_tex finally someone understands what they're watching. Like Texas really played the whole game with 6 in the box. I'm not a math major but if you have 5 lineman, a tightend, a running back, and a mobile qb that gives a plus one. Giving up 150 on 50 attempts, with 11 TFL, I'd say that's a pretty good day at the office.

      Much of it was leaky yards due to poor tackling. Everyone is spoiled by last year's defense but I'll take this year's defense any day of the week. We're turning people over, we're getting sacks, we're playing sticky coverage.

    • @michaelhinojosa13
      @michaelhinojosa13 3 дні тому +4

      we were intentionally playing light boxes to dare them to run it down the field consistently (which they couldn't do well enough to actually score). that plus bad tackling.

    • @robh_tex
      @robh_tex 3 дні тому +4

      It's what the Briles offense does... Stretches you wide and threatens you deep, so to cover that you leave the box less stacked. Pick your poison. You could leave your CBs on islands and bring the safeties into the box, but that can lead to explosive pass plays.

    Concerned about the run defense? You guys are finding an issue out of nothing. State rushed the ball 50 times for 150. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's exactly three yards a carry. There was a lot to be concerned with and run defense aint one. Ok so State controlled the clock lol we still scored 22 more points have the ball 10 minutes less.

    • @veetsv1597
      @veetsv1597 3 дні тому +6

      It’s more than the stats from one game. I’ve watched all games this year and the defensive line getting pushed back 1-2 yards at the snap has been consistent. Against better teams that’s going to become a problem. Somewhere in the schedule someone is going to hang 200 on them I fear.

    • @Pietothesky
      @Pietothesky 3 дні тому +7

      Sacks erase rushing yards, it was more like 4 yards a carry.

      This is a rivalry game with OU. Favored teams don't always win. The team that WANTS to win more, wins.

    • @Dread-HeadedTexan
      @Dread-HeadedTexan 3 дні тому +2

      @Pietothesky not even close even if you add the sack yards it's still only 3.2 ypc.

    • @Dread-HeadedTexan

      @@veetsv1597 really? Which game CSU, MICH, UTSA, or ULM? Cause it wasn't this one. How do you have 11 TFL and 6 sacks if you're getting pushed back? How is that the long run you yeild in 50 attempts only gain 17 yards if you're getting blown off the ball? Again of all the things to be concerned with in the game run defense isn't one. Go back and watch the game again and see how many yards came after contact. Run defense wasn't the problem poor tackling was.

    Obvious criticism of Arch is that he held the ball too long. Those would be sacks against OU or Georgia

  • @m.c.5761
    @m.c.5761 3 дні тому +5

    Our Horns play like that with OU and GA and we'll take L's and drop out of top 10. There's a reason we're not rated #1 today.

    • @Cbcw76
      @Cbcw76 3 дні тому +4

      Of course, the precedence is now set: "anyone who beats Georgia is #1." Of course, I remember when Texas beat Ohio State AT Columbus and voters only loved the highest paid Southern Cal as #1, after playing no one. It didn't matter, and this ranking doesn't matter. If Texas wins... THAT matters.

      Re: your point - Our W yesterday didn't matter. In the end, ranking WILL matter with the 12 team bracket. The boys got lax and knew they would. Proof is in practice in coming weeks. Sark admitted getting onto Arch but D coaches better get them boys squared up.

      Lol and we’ve blown out I would say everyone. That was an ugly game yesterday still winning by 22. It could’ve easily been 29-36 points even with as bad as we played. We were gonna score when blue fumbled in some type of way and then Johntay missing that catch. Then Sark taking pts off the board. Btw I was cool with him being aggressive. The only real bad pass from Arch. Lower n thrown faster n it’s 1st down. Anyways this rivalry hardly cares who’s played tonight schedule or been better anyways. I just hope we win idc if it’s by 1 pt in OT
